Anyways, we took our time hiked up to the waterfall, I think up and back we took a lil over 2 hours because I tried finding the geocaches. I will definitely come back during summertime to go in the water... it looked so inviting. They also have bathrooms and a playground for the kids and gravel parking lot. You can drive to the other end and just sit on the tailgate and enjoy the sites and sounds of the birds and flowing water.

First, you can't have a vehicle towed legally when there isn't a no parking sign posted. Second, I bet the person who called to have us towed is overweight. Way to make us feel unwelcome! In Arizona, most all parks don't close that are city parks. You may exercise day and night! I hope the miserable being who called the crappy tow truck company learns how to be a nice human before their time is up on earth. Good riddance!!

I see multiple "park rangers" driving around, but non of the seem to want and or try to enforce said law or rule. I personally always have my dogs on a leash because it's the LAW. I can not enjoy a nice walk at this beautiful state park cause I am always on edge thinking some off leash dog is going to come running up on me and my dogs.

Sycamore Shoals State Historic Park was founded in 1976. It has 70 acres, a visitors center, a…read moremuseum, an amphitheater, 2 miles of hiking trails, an abortorium, a butterfly garden, and several historic structures. It has a reconstruction of Fort Watuaga, and one of the oldest still-standing homes in the state. Being in the upper, tippy top, northeastern corner of Tennessee, this one was longer for us to get to than many other parks. When I commented as to such, the park ranger quipped, "Yeah, we're so far in the top corner that people forget about us!" That being said, this park has the best museum we've probably seen. It's gorgeous and incredibly well done. We came at exactly the right time of year because it was beautiful and all of the flowers were fully in bloom.

Came here a few weeks ago to play disc golf at the park. What a lovely course! A nice blend of…read morewooded and open field - I was surprised at how hot I was on the course. There are several different tees to choose from, of course, but using the UdIsc app helps. Like many disc golf course courses, this is also bike path trail so you do have to watch out for that. Although this was not an issue for us whatsoever and never has been. Some people were also walking their dogs and doing other things here as well. This is a huge park. I think there were people swimming in another area. All free. Easy access. Good parking. Will definitely return next time I'm in Johnson City.

We were here for a softball tournament and overall thought the park was quite nice. Since we had…read morethe 8 o'clock a.m. game, we arrived at the crack of dawn as the sun rose. Parking at that time was not a problem as we were the 1st ones there. There are 4 diamonds in the quad and the entry gate was staffed by a tournament person. The narrow pathway was used by both those with tournament passes, those having to pay at the gate, and those exiting the quad. Needless to say, it was not a good traffic flow and also not good in the times of a pandemic. I also noted that the pricing was very high. The quad itself is very nice. There are bleachers on both sides of all 4 fields as well as plenty of room for spectators who bring their own chairs. There is a building in the middle which serves as the press room with views to all 4 quads and the ability to manage the scoreboards. The scoreboards were all functional for a change but the scorekeeper was very late in tracking scores for each play. The dugouts were also very nice and the fields well kept. While we were there they had grounds crew working each field between games. A nice touch! Since we got there so early, I had plenty of time to walk while the team warmed up. As it turns out, I walked around most of the park. It was a bit hilly walking up by the monument and administrative building then a steep incline down the back side to the playground area and water. It also looked like there was a space for performances and other organized activities. I finished my walk with a lap around the fields and saw there was also a 5th field in addition to a possible soccer and lacrosse field or football fields to the side. Very nice facilities indeed! Because I came and went between games I was concerned upon return about finding a parking space. The games were well spaced out and people were coming and going, I had no problem finding an open spot. It was not as good as the front row by the gate we got at the crack of dawn, but it was fine all the same. Tomorrow we will play at a different field but I hope to return to this park later in the week. The fact that it had running water in the restrooms and indoor plumbing inside the quad as well as other facilities throughout the park, made it quite convenient and pleasant to be at.

We have family in the area and came across this jewel while visiting. The grounds are well…read moremaintained. There are nice FHU and rustics sites with several miles of dog-friendly trails. This is not a large State Park but it has a lot to offer. The historical site is a short walk from the campground and contains a plethora of information. The rangers are very friendly and gladly answer any questions as well as giving nature hikes and historical tours. The sites slope downhill toward the river but get leveler the closer you are to be the river. Large Motorhomes will want to avoid the first row (closest to the road) and possibly the second row. You will definitely need a few more leveling blocks on these rows. The last two rows are not too bad with few to no leveling blocks needed. We found Verizon and AT&T Cell and Data Services to work well. The park offers free WiFi that is readily usable most of the day. Note: If you have a long trailer or Motorhome, say 30' or more. There are several routes to get here coming off of 11E. Make sure and call the campground for directions. You want to follow the route from the Limestone area that takes you under the railroad tracks. Otherwise, you will be on some uncomfortable narrow curvy roads.

This park has a beautiful story for it and why it's called Jacob's Nature Park . We embarked on a one mile Loop around the path. There was an obstructed tree that was actually black in our path that we had to climb over so be aware of that prior to this review if you were attempting to walk the path. There's also another path too if you follow the white markings on a tree. There is a nice creek along the path to for most of the trail. Overall, I thought it was a good part to check out. No public restrooms by the way! Plenty of park benches to sit on

Fishy parks on the outskirts of town they've got a beautiful brand new brand spanking new…read moreplayground. I've got several acres of nothing but clean flat fields a full basketball court a couple of ponds and I have a pool they open from Labor Day or from Memorial Day to Labor Day it's nice nice park. It's right here also with the Irwin linear trail is so you can take a little hawk or get wet or play anything there's a baseball field there as well. Fish park is a nice park.

Many of your events are gathered here and for this event in the winter time they have their Festival of trees which featured over 180 trees. Many events happen here throughout the entire year. They even have a playground for the kids nearby. Hilariously this sign used to be a U-Haul sign that they refurbished and install the Johnson City Tennessee logo. You can look us up yourself on Google Maps. Plenty of local happenings around this place as well. Overall, you can't visit Johnson City without visiting king Commons park!
