"Why do you need a park for a dog? Don't he run on your farm?" Well, yes, but, you see, I come from a land where dog truly was man's best friend, and thus we got to go everywhere together, even bars. It is hard to admit to you, but I got addicted. Real bad. Now I can't stop adventuring and exercising with my dogs. Yahoo! We only found out about this little gem by driving past a sign. We did a quick U-turn to investigate. We found that someone (or some group) in Morristown clearly loves dogs. A lot of care was put into this dog park, which is in a converted ball field. The saplings are still growing, but the night lights are already installed (switch is near the entrance gate) and the dugouts have been converted to shaded seating areas. They have a box of toys hanging on the fence, a kiddie pool right next to a hose, and multiple doggie bag stations. We used the kiddie pool to wet down our big guy after a long hot day at the people park. We plan to add some toys to the box, and pick up after our dog, to show Morristown they made a great decision to open this dog-gone-Mecca. I hope that more dog friends find their way over here now, and take care of it like these folks are!

There are several different fenced in areas available for the dogs, technically a small dog area, big dog area, and (sort of unspoken rule) a play area for dogs who like to roughhouse more. Picnic tables, benches, and a gazebo exist. There are also poop stations and water buckets for the dogs to drink from (and some of them to splash in). The only downside about this park is it isn't free - membership is required for residents and guests alike (check the website for more info). That said, it's worth the cost to let your dog run free. Plus, this place is ran and operated by the local humane society. There's nothing funnier to me than seeing my dog emerge from the bottom of the hill and run all the way back up to see me at the top.

So, it doesn't tell you till you GET there, that it's $10 to get in, you have to buy a pass at the…read morehumane society which of course has terrible hours on only certain days... and of course you HAVE to bring your dogs vaccination records... like we all carry those around with us. There are small freezers with Sheppard's pie's and other pies as well as cakes and biscuits. The food is a little pricey but they are all hefty meals. The coffee selection is a honest selection of a typical coffee shop but there is a special menu that is separate from the main "traditional" menu. The special menu is a compilation of special drinks (dog inspired). We tried the goldendoodle which was golden milk with chai and it was really good. The staff was quick and helpful and fun to talk with. This place is highly recommended!

Azalea is one of our top 5 favorites and lucky us, it's only a few miles from our house. The dog park has 2 sides, one for little dogs and the much larger area for big dogs. Each side has tables and benches. The big dog side has a TON of room for zoomies. There tends to be a lot of mud so make sure you head over to the lake after so your pup can take a dip and clean off. There are also some pretty big holes so watch your step. They try to maintain the park but let's be honest, with the amount of rain we get and the amount of dogs that frequent this place, there will always be something. The dog parents are pretty friendly, we see a lot of the same people and usually always have someone to chat with. The dog usually get along, I've only seen a few scuffs. That's what dogs do!

Great place to unwind and clear your head after a long day. There is a walking path that circles…read morethe whole park for shorter walks, with the option to take an alternate path that will take you as far as you care to go. There are two large fenced-in enclosures for dogs; one for smaller dogs and another for larger ones. I usually go here just to walk, but I often see people riding bikes, scooters, and hoverboards. There is also a big, gazebo-like structure that serves as a picnic area, with close access to barbecue grills for cooking out. This place is an especially good option if you're tired of Carrier Park, but there is another walking path that leads back in that direction if you start to miss it. Highly recommended.

Visitors to the area will discover that Asheville possesses a majestic vista of the surrounding…read moremountains, but a pretty unimpressive river. There are other stretches of the French Broad that are more aesthetically pleasing, but around here, it's a brown snake that doesn't seem impressive. If you pass through the city without stopping here, you're not missing anything given the profligate majestic clear waterfalls in the mountains nearby. However, there is a decent pedestrian infrastructure built up around this bridge, and several restrooms, launch facilities for watercraft, and other useful features. For the more casual or local user, it's at least a waterfront that has been well developed for public use.
