This experience was unexpected, especially since I had previously used Miguel's services to install…read moreseveral cameras, and that transaction went very smoothly. Approximately one year later, I contacted the company to have the cameras reset, as I did not have a ladder tall enough to reach them, and to install an under-cabinet ducted vent hood. The microwave previously installed in that location had already been removed, the duct opening was prepared for the vent hood installation, a 120V receptacle was already in place, and no electrical work was required. All of this was explained before the job was accepted, and I confirmed the quoted cost for both services on two separate occasions. Unfortunately, there were several instances where Miguel did not arrive for scheduled appointments and failed to notify me that he would not be coming. This continued for approximately a week and a half until he unexpectedly arrived one day. He successfully reset the cameras; however, when it came time to install the vent hood, he stated, "The office quoted me the wrong price, and I charge $250 per hour because I am a technician." He also mentioned that his teenage daughter had accompanied him. I had not hired or agreed to pay for an additional person to assist with the work. Miguel then refused to complete the installation at the quoted price and requested an additional amount equal to 100% increase of the original quote, effectively doubling the cost. I declined and paid only for the camera reset service that had been completed. I am disappointed by the lack of professionalism and poor communication. Had there been unforeseen issues or additional work required, I would have understood. However, that was not the case here. If there was a pricing discrepancy, it should have been communicated before the appointment, giving me the opportunity to decide whether to proceed. Increasing the price on the day of service, without justification, is not a professional business practice. Based on my experience and some of the other reviews I have read, this appears to be a recurring issue. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this company.

Getting a quote was so easy, I asked Christina if I could share my "to-do/punch list" with her via Microsoft To Do, she said no problem. I sent my list, with photos where it was needed. The quote they gave was very reasonable. Tony came out and really impressed me with his professionalism and quality of work. This is a husband-wife team, so they don't just send someone out to take care of it, they make sure you're taken care of from beginning to end. Tony went above and beyond, touching up paint that wasn't in the quote, installing a magnetic door catch on my son's door that won't stay open otherwise (also not in the quote). But then also working pleasantly and efficiently on all the other jobs needed, including: removing and replacing a chandelier, fixing two doors that weren't aligned right so sometimes wouldn't shut, troubleshooting a musty smell from our dishwasher, fixing coat hooks that we couldn't get to stay in the wall, multiple paint touch ups including cabinets and various walls and trim, removing shades we are replacing, hanging a huge 60+ inch TV, hanging two very heavy mirror/pinboards and a shelf that you hang clothes on so it has to support a lot of weight. I strongly recommend to Realtors or those about to sell. Lee and his associate immediately found time to evaluate my project. I needed some siding on my house repaired connected to some wind damage, and it was too high up for…read moreme to consider doing on my own. One other handyman had looked at this for me, but their solution didn't hold up, so i was in search of a permanent fix. I have grown fond of using Yelp's "request a quote tool" to easily put out a project request to several businesses that serve my area, and find it very easy to communicate and get quotes in this manner. Unfortunately for the tool, but fortunately for me, I may not need to request a quote again for awhile, because I am just going to hiring Chris and Chase at Carolina Custom Home Improvements to do any work I have moving forward! Chris got back to me within an hour of my quote request, with which I also submitted a pair of photos of the damage. He took a guess at the issue, provided two likely solutions, a price quote based on what we could see in the photos, and was able to come do the work within just a few days. I appreciated the direct manner he answered, and his sense of urgency. On arrival, him and Chase were easy to talk with, and got right to work diagnosing the issue. Due to some cracking on the siding, they would need to replace some of it to permanently fix things. They also noticed some other damaged siding, offering to fix that while they were at it. I agreed, and they set to work calling suppliers. They were able to not only find the same manufacturer, but the correct color! Obviously, the new siding is not faded, so you can tell it's new, but that is totally expected. Once they obtained the materials (with no markup, giving me the receipt directly) they set to work. This siding is 25 feet in the air, and a hard job on a long ladder. They got it done in around 90 minutes. It fits flush and looks great, see my photos. The job site was left clean, and they even tamped down the holes in the soil made by the ladder and their feet on the soft ground. I'm happy to use them again in the future based on this work, and they are knowledgeable on several subjects. They'll at least be my first call. They serve both the eastern Triad and the western Triangle areas (based in Burlington). Thanks Chris and Chase!
