They were easy to find via search on maps online. I've always had good experiences with haircuts, trims and color around the country at cosmetology schools but this was by far the most professional looking school I had ever encountered! I don't know who runs it but I'd like to find out. First off, when I went inside, I was greeted by a beautiful, calm, almost spa-like atmosphere instead of the usual smell of perming solution and color. I don't know if I was just there on a good day or if this is the usual way, but bravo to the owner and staff for the ambience. (See picture, had I not been in a hurry that day I think I would have indulged in a full line of services and took many more pictures of the mottos on the walls). The students and instructors, most of whom I did notice were younger and female, had well put together looks...ranging from conservative to alternative/experimental. The clientele that day were like myself: ranging from middle aged women up to the elderly. The young lady who did my hair consult seemed to immediately understand my hair type and I opted to get wash and waves similar to what she was wearing that day. I was going to get a trim but it wasn't necessary and I like that she didn't talk me into unneeded services, something I have unfortunately experienced at many salons. We had a good chat about a variety of topics as she worked on my look. I left there feeling more confident. I should have took a before picture, as my hair was a complete humidity-trashed messed when I had arrived. The only downfall to the experience is despite a light dusting of hairspray, my look didn't last two days as I was hoping; it lasted twelve hours. I don't know whether to attribute that to my hair or maybe it needed the humidity-proof hairspray I have used in the past, but all in all, I give Kristen and the others a 5 out of 5 and will definitely return when I am in the area again one day.

She led our class via video conferencing from Gainesville, FL. Cherokee is an awesome instructor. I was very impressed with the manner in which she presented herself and how responsive she was to every single student through the chat window. The class was very instructive and fun. Having the PMP certificate seemed to be an advantage in the past. Most of the employers I have…read moreworked for have either not heard of a PMP certificate or do not provide any additional compensation to a holder of the certificate. Thus the certificate does not indicate a persons ability or provide additional opportunities for employment. I am an engineer in the utility space and Professor that teaches project management in the masters program. PMI allows 8 hours from my work as a Professor toward the 60 hour CCR requirement over a 30 month period. Absurd. But PMI will gladly encourage me to spend more money to maintain my certificate. Imagine that! After holding a PMP certificate for 19 years I am allowing the certificate to be suspended since PMI requires a ridiculous amount of effort and money to maintain a certificate that is not as well recognized as Google Project Management certification. And, Google does not require a ridiculous amount of effort and money to maintain the certificate.
