Took my phone into the store this morning to try and learn why it died. (It had been purchased at Walmart and I am not from Amsterdam and could not find a phone repair place.) Instead of offering assistance, the young punk who worked in electronics told me my phone was old and beyond repair, could not be diagnosed, that he could not recommend a phone repair place, should be replaced with a new one that he could sell me, and that I should change carriers as well. The electronics clerk at Target on the other side of Rte 30 helped me find a phone repair place, and an hour later the issue was diagnosed and I had a repair estimate from a great place in Gloversville. (Dead LCD screen needed to be replaced.) read more

Not great customer service. I asked 4 employees and waited 15min to get into the razor case.

The man in electronics is not helpful at all on a good day. Tonight, I asked him for a game in a locked case & 40 minutes later he was still ignoring me. Announcements started going off that the store would close shortly. He kept taking care of everyone else! New guys walk up and he takes care of them. As for myself & another woman also waiting for him- ignored. I went to the front of the store to get the manager for assistance & believe it that there was no manager out of that office while I waited for 10 more minutes. I wouldn't come here for a bag of meth honestly. I don't appreciate the staff and the people there are just the most ghetto. Always people fighting inside or acting foolish. Shelves are very sloppy and it makes me feel like that have no idea what they are doing. read more

Today, Dec 6th 2019, I experienced a tire failure in town and after putting on the spare and then that one also failing, I checked online for the closest retailer open, Walmart Tire Center in Amsterdam to be the best option, the only option. Had the roadside assistance tow me here, after a freezing 2 hour wait for the tow on the side of the road, to be told by the Walmart Tire Center associate that I would have to wait til the next day. I told him I was stranded here and that I only needed one wheel attended to, and that it's already off the car and I would install the tire on my car once they mounted it. I confirmed they had the tire I wished to buy in stock. Mind you, this is at 6pm. I waited for the associate to come to his post to assist me and several other patrons for about 15 min. He had to pick up the phone while helping me and subsequently had the caller come in that night (they close at 7) for his 4 tire order, while I was immediately told that the garage workers who were assembled in the break room, that they hadn't the time to do my request. I asked them politely and even after being refused service I still was professional and thanked him and left. I am writing this review to hopefully persuade anyone who reads this to think twice before bringing their vehicle here if they are in a situation such as mine. I've been dealing with the tire blow-out for about 4 hours now and my day has been wasted, but the most frustrating part was to have finally made it work to be towed here for help and then denied the help out of what appears to be laziness coated in a thin veneer of "sorry we don't have the time for that today, sir". I am not the type the writes inflammatory reviews of anything of that foolish sort, but this is ridiculous. The garage bay was nearly empty when I exited and there was one line mechanic working on that one car. They had more than the time it would need to slap one tire on a wheel to prevent me from walking an hour home in a snow storm, but instead they chose to do business in a very unprofessional and cold manner. First of all, this is probably one of the worst Walmart stores I've ever been to. The stock is always low, or they'll be out of items for a ridiculous amount of time. If you ever need to return something, expect a long line, there's usually only one person there. Also, expect them to be pretty miserable. As for the pharmacy department, if you're going to pick up a prescription, make sure you set aside anywhere from 10-30 minutes for waiting in line. Again, one person checking out customers. It also doesn't help that their filled prescription filing system is horrible. Instead of them looking for an order of all your prescriptions, each medication is filed separately in bags with colors and numbers. So god help you if you have more than one thing to get, you stand there while they figure out which bag each med is in, and then they have to find it. I realize that it's Walmart in Amsterdam, NY, so I shouldn't expect much, and I don't. But even my absolute lowest expectations don't even come close to being met. Now I try to never go there, I'd rather drive 30 minutes to another location. I don't know who manages that place, but they should probably not be managing any store larger than a dollar store. read more

I've had such horrible experience with this store I will deliberately go out of my way 120 miles in any direction to go to a different store just so I don't have to buy anything from this shithole. read more
