After a rough start picking up an order for dance class supplies for my daughter, I realized I did not know the order number or whether or not it was an in person or internet order. I should have had that information. The Costumer is a large operation with three locations in Schenectady. It rents and sells hundreds of costumes and assessories. A call to my daughter resolved those issues. Within 15-20 minutes of my arrival, the order was located and delivered to my car by a staff member. Service was Five Stars I talked to four different staff, and each one was courteous and calm in spite of my impatience during the initial part of my visit. I was a little out of line, but I am going to attribute it to a senior episode. A nice email explaining the delay in locating the order was sent to my daughter by the manager on the same day as my pickup. AND it included a 15% off coupon on her next purchase! This is the 2nd year we have rented our band Halloween costumes from this place and we will be back! We went in yesterday looking to rent costumes and Taylor was phenomenal! She greeted us with a smile and then helped us all the way to the end when we checked out. I was looking for a more custom costume and she helped with input and putting it all together! She went in and out and just kept bringing optiona for us and then also helped us pick out accessories I hate shopping and she made the whole process a lot of fun! read more

This has to be one of the most amazing costume stores around. At least as far as accessories and wigs go. This place had everything you could possibly need. They also had a massive costume selection and a bunch of costumes that you could rent. The prices are also incredible, I think the only issue I had with this place was how tiny it was, the cashier is cramped against the wall that if your in line your also in everybody's way. I'll definitely make sure to check here for costumes next year they had a lot of stuff that other places just didn't have. read more

This place is awesome! I saw it while driving and had to stop in and check it out. They have a huge selection of costume accessories and wigs. They also have a section in the back with just rows and rows of costumes you can rent. Very cool! They also have counters for sfx makeup that was pretty substantial. They even had professional costume makeup brands which I thought was neat. I was kind of disappointed they didn't have a larger women's costume section. It was kind of surprising how small it was in comparison to the rest of the store. Even the kid's costume section was larger. I would have probably bought something if I hadn't been looking for something VERY specific. It's definitely a place to go if you need costume ideas; they have everything you could possibly dream up! read more
