Midas gave me a whole list of things that needed to be fixed which was a total of $2k in repairs. I believed them even tho the car was showing no signs of having problems. I took my car in a second time to have the brakes changed since they said they needed to be replaced which was a cost of $540, when I got my car back I started noticing a weird sound coming from my tires. I then brought my car in again to get the thermostat and cam shaft sensors fixed since they said it needed fixing, I told them about the sound I had been hearing in my tires ever since they changed my brakes and they said they will take a look at it. I took the car in at 1130 and waited all day, it wasn't until 5pm when I went back and asked for an update and they then told me that they broke something in the car so the car had to stay overnight because it was going to take a while to get the piece they got stuck in there out. They gave me a loan car at no cost and was told I can pick my car up the next day. The next day I went and paid $909 for those repairs, they told me nothing was wrong with the brakes so I took my car home but I noticed the sound on the tires got way worse. When I turned on my car the next time after taking it home, my car was having trouble turning on. I took the car back to Midas to get it looked at because that sound in the tired was horrible and my car kept sputtering trying to turn on. They told me they took the car apart and nothing was wrong with the brakes again but that they found a new issue with the car that was going to be a $1k repair. The day after they checked the car, I am driving down the freeway and my car starts beeping and a light turned on in the dash so I immediately pulled over and noticed smoke coming out of the front of my car. We were ready to get the car towed when luckily a police officer pulled behind us and took a look at the car and noticed the tube that connects the coolant to the engine was not plugged in which caused all of my coolant to leak out. My car was not perfect when I took it to Midas but ever since they touched my car, my car has been worse off. I genuinely feel like they have been ripping me and my husband off, and rather than fixing things they told me was wrong, they have broken my car.

Every repair I've had done here was completed correctly the first time, and usually within a day or two. I think the longest I've had to wait was 3 days, but that was because it took that long to get a part. Geyer's provides an estimate up front, but in my experience the estimate tends to be on the higher end. I've always been pleasantly surprised to be charged less than the initial estimate. Speaking of which, they also offer a military discount for soldiers and veterans, which takes a little extra off your total. They've also been really good about communicating, calling with the estimate and again when the job is completed. Everyone is courteous and helpful and takes time to explain what needs to be done or what was done if you have questions.

Before I had my oil change done at Watertown Auto Repair, I asked the guy at the desk how much it would cost for a full synthetic oil change for my 2012 Toyota Yaris sedan. He asked me how much oil my car took. I told him 4 quarts. After the hundreds of oil changes that I have had done on my car over the last ten years, I knew exactly how much oil my car takes. He told me $52 before taxes. After my oil change was done and he gave me the bill, it said $58.95 before taxes. I asked him why it cost more than the original estimate. He pointed to the bill and told me that it took 4.5 quarts. Obviously, I knew that this was not true. I looked in my manual but it did not have the amount of oil needed. It was not a repair manual. So, I went online. Over and over reputable websites stated that my car takes 3.9 quarts or, as I said, 4 quarts. Finally, I found the coup de grâce, the actual manual at Toyota with the oil specifications. Funny, Toyota seems to think that my car only takes 3.9 quarts of oil. Since they manufactured the car, I would think that they know how much oil it takes. Watertown Auto Repair must know something that the manufacturer doesn't or he lied and cheated me. It might seem like a small thing, just a few dollars, but if I can't trust Watertown Auto Repair with a small job, I can't trust them with a large job either. My MINI Countryman had a corroded ground strap, which caused additional problems with the car. I initially sent the car to Good Year, which replaced the ground strap and battery (which had died when the ground strap shorted). After these repairs, the car still would not start, and some of the codes it was throwing were dealer codes that Good Year could not read. I contacted the "area's only dedicated European import specialists" and asked if they had the software that would allow them to read the dealer codes, which the operator assured me they did. Since my only other option was a thousand dollar tow to the actual dealer in Rochester, I decided to give a local business a try. So first problem, they lied They can't read the dealer codes, which I found out after paying to have the car towed there. So the one reason that I chose to go with this garage turned out to not be true. And it gets worse from there. They had the car for two weeks and still had no idea what was wrong with it. They never communicated anything about the progress of their work, which I suspect was because there was no progress whatsoever. Every phone contact I had with them bordered on hostile, like it was unreasonable for me to wonder what was happening with my car. I was told multiple times that there would be news by "the end of the day" or "the end of business tomorrow." There was never a callback on any of those deadlines. Often, they completely ignore their phone. I attempted several times to reach them one day with no answer at all, after hearing nothing from them for several days when I had been told, once again, there would be a callback before "the end of the day" two days prior. My housemate, who also relies on this car, asked to try, and they answered on the first ring. He had a conversation with them where he answered some questions, as he was the one actually driving the car when it broke down, and I was told by their operator that the information he provided was very helpful. Meanwhile, what information I could get out of them was they were trial-and-erroring their way through my fuse box, then said it was the starter but weren't sure about that, then that they had no definitive diagnostics and were "still testing." Unbeknownst to me, after two weeks of this run around, my housemate called in an attempt to find out what was happening, and their operator, as seems to be her main MO, berated him on the phone for calling at all. An argument ensued, which was unfortunate, however, the argument began when Meg (their operator) immediately lit into him for calling repeatedly (when they had been ignoring the phone again), and told him that he had no right to ask about anything to do with the car, despite being an adult member of the household who also uses the vehicle.. Unfortunately, he's not as calm as I am (though I think few adults would remain calm when being shouted over when trying to find out simple information about the progress being made on their vehicle), and the argument that ensued ended with me getting a call that they wanted the car towed out immediately with the accusation that I had somehow put him up to calling. I was told that questioning how nothing has been taken care of in two weeks was an "attitude." It's not an attitude; it's a fact. Then they invoiced me for almost $200 for "diagnostics." Keeping in mind, the closest thing they had to a diagnosis of anything, after two weeks, was that the car doesn't start. I knew that without any training. If you read through their online reviews, you'll see that they are extremely efficient at immediately responding to any negative reviews, by casting aspersions on the reviewer, often over things that have nothing to do with what was said in the review (at one point, they actually spent the bulk of their response telling the reviewer that their car, which the garage had spent three MONTHS on for some simple repairs, was a lousy car and they worked on much better cars). If they were even half as diligent and efficient in actually providing service on the vehicles as they are responding to their multiple one-star reviews, they might actually be a decent garage. You would think that anyone with half an ounce of common sense might stop to think, if they have to refute so many bad reviews, that maybe they ought to READ the reviews and re-think their approach. This, apparently, has not occurred to them yet. This place is an all-clown circus with no idea what they are doing. They make big promises up front to get you to come in, and have no ability to actually follow through on them.
