Right place right time to get a flat. We were in Richfield, UT when the tire went almost entirely flat. Thankfully - we overfilled it one last time and hauled it to Big O! I took my Chevy in for an A/C system check. I told them I knew there was a leak because I could put refrigerant and the A/C would work for a couple weeks, then stop working. After having my car for a few hours, working on it, they called me back and told me they couldn't find a leak and that they'd recharged my system. I told them I knew that wouldn't work and that I was sure there was a leak and I repeated myself: I could recharge my own system but that it would leak out after 2 - 3 weeks. They insisted there was no leak, so I asked that if the A/C died again in a couple weeks if I could bring it back in as proof. They said yes. So I took my car, the A/C worked for 3 weeks, then died. I took it back in and told them there is definitely a leak. They kept my car for a few hours then they called me back and said there was no leak! I told them I was sure there was a leak, to which she said, "the mechanic checked and there's no fluids on the ground under it". Holy stupid !!! Refrigerant doesn't leak on the ground! It's gas! So I just said, "fine, then will you at least recharge my A/C system?" She said yes. Then she called back and said, "the mechanic doesn't want to recharge the system until the leak is fixed". To which I told her "YOU'VE BEEN TELLING ME THIS WHOLE TIME THAT THERE WAS NO LEAK!!!" She then said, "well we think there's a leak, but we can't find it." Pissed me off!!! So I paid them $200 to check for a leak which I told them was there in the first place, they then told me there was no leak, then when I asked them to recharge my system, only then did they acknowledge a leak! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!!

My wife and I were in the middle of our month long road trip when, while stopping in Richfield to…read morereplace a flat tire, the car suddenly died in the parking lot of a hotel. Being it was a Friday Night at about 8pm, and Richfield is not the largest community, we were pretty stressed about being able to find a place to fit us in on Saturday morning, as we especially did not want to lose three days of travel and sightseeing time waiting around until Monday. After calling half a dozen garages, we were finally put in touch with Grako's, who may also have another name that I can't now remember. Gary, the Manager, who I believe was also the owner of this location (they also have one in Price, UT), said he believed he could fit us in on Saturday afternoon. After getting the car towed the 1/10 of a mile to his shop (LOL), we waited around for a while. Gary, and the technician Josh were very polite to us throughout the entire affair, advising us on where to get food downtown, the estimated time until we could be looked at etc. while we sat in their waiting area. They informed us that the starter was indeed dead, a troubling conclusion as we had literally had it replaced the day before in Moab, UT. The shop there was less than cooperative with helping my wife and I with the necessary information we needed to move things along over the phone, and the same went for the parts place who needed to bring down another one as it was under warranty. Gary and Josh did their best to make sure that everything was eventually straightened out for us; taking care of just about every need two weary travelers 2500 miles from home could need. After everything was all said and done, Gary even took a quarter hour off the job (which, being billed an hour for the starter was already a fair price), because his technician finished it earlier than the allotted time. I can honestly say that I have never had a nicer experience with any mechanic's shop anywhere. Gary and Josh made every possible effort to assist us in getting our trip back underway, and did so while being polite, courteous, friendly, and professional. It's a shame I'll never see them again, because they really set a new bar for my wife and I for automotive customer service. edit: They were so wonderful, I forgot to mention that I created a yelp account and their business on yelp just to post this review.
