Although I have no idea what this is, it shows dedication to making sure my vehicle is running good. Been here 7 years and went to Walmart one time and to Rockport Quick Lube the rest of the time. It's cold outside today but I needed an oil change. The owners are Allen and Beth. Allen worked on…read moremy car. He got the car lifted and the oil came out fine, but when it came to changing out the filter, he ran into a problem. The oil filter was put back on too tight. He said this tightness is all too typical with these Toyotas. It was a risk of breaking the aluminum casing that holds the oil filter and a couple of days to get the part from San Antonio if it breaks. So he just changed the oil and did not charge me for the oil filter and the labor. The bill was just $51. I will need to go San Antonio to the Toyota dealer to have the filter changed. I was glad that Allen was honest and walked me through the process and did not charge me, except for the oil. Most of all, I am glad to have had my car kept intact. This situation could have gone bad. He put air in my tires, even my spare tire. He did well and I would definitely return to this shop. Thank you Allen and Beth.

The closest dealer told me there was a 3 week wait to get them to look at my car, so I called the front desk of my motel, and they said Cooling's was highly respected. Well, Jimmy was super! He quickly helped me realize that the problem was probably just water in the gas, told me what I could add to the tank to relieve the issue (and where to get it because he doesn't sell it as a retail item). We took off in the rain, feeling quite a bit better, until the 'Check Engine,' light started calling me! I turned around, went right back to Cooling's, and again (without any chance of making a dime from me) Jimmy reassured me that seeing the 'Check Engine,' light was exactly the right response from my car, as it would tell my mechanic back in Austin exactly what the problem is. If Cooling's (and Jimmy) provide this type of outstanding service for folks who aren't spending a dime with them (Jimmy couldn't start taking my car apart until late that day, and I was to go home early the next morning) their service for paying customers must be legendary! In a few minutes, he told me it was simply a loose wire. "How much?" I asked. He shrugged. "Nothing. I didn't have to use any parts or anything." Drove to Port A for a weekend getaway & barely made it due to brake issue. I showed up last Friday…read moremorning and had to get both rotors replaced & pads, which they did not stock. They went above and beyond driving to find my parts, had my truck finished by 2pm. Also gave me a 36K mile/36 month warranty on my parts. They saw I have Veteran plates and offered me the Military discount and gave me $50 gift card for their boutique down the road- a must see. The staff was great to deal with and informative about my repairs, along with things to do in the area and places to eat. I hope I don't have to go back for repairs but I wouldn't go anywhere else should I need repairs again.
