Quite honestly, I will not be shopping at this Walmart anymore. The store has changed a lot, for the worse. Not as much inventory as I remember from the past. Plus I got a surly cashier who told me she had to go check a price on an item with a customer and told me to leave the line and go to another when all the other lines were packed. She was rude if I said anything to her, and she never smiled or was the least bit friendly. Walmart should teach a course in customer service skills. read more

We been coming here to Middle Island Walmart since we moved to the South Shore. My kids now teenagers know their way around the store. We are able to do more saving time driving from store to store & money. read more

Horrible store no one helps you they ignore u or tell u it's not their department and keep walking. Managers dont help either. In store pickup is horrible they make u wait while 20 employee walk past u and ignore u including managers. Complain to 1800walmart gm supposed to call u back not only does he not call u back neither does store manager they make assistant call you back. And the fridges always break and their shelves are always empty and the inventory is horribly off for what online says they have then u go in and they claim they dont have it read more

This Walmart is absolutely disgusting. The employees are all miserable and aren't afraid to show it. One employee in particular, I believe his name was James, he was in the furniture department, was so god awful I want to know why he's even kept there. When I asked him where health and beauty was (I have never been to this Walmart before mind you) he told me, "keep walking around, you'll find it". I'm completely disgusted. This store pays it's employees to basically stand around, provide absolutely terrible customer service and give unnecessary attitudes to customers. I'm going to stick to Target. Very dirty and disorganized. Signs on aisles oh wait there are no signs on the aisles to complain about. The worst part is they close at 10 pm. Other big box stores stay open til 11pm(target) why not this Walmart? What no Subway only chappy McDonalds.... Yuck... Bad experience dont go to this Walmart. Their price scanners are broken and there's maybe 2 in that giant store and only 1 half works...during g black Friday cashiers were standing around chatting to each other while lines piled up. Items are never where they are supposed to be on the shelf causing the price tags to be off. Staff is completely rude about it when you bring it up and say they can get you a manager but "it's going to take a while." The last time I was there, an employee was cleaning out a broken refrigerator and the smell almost made me vomit in the isle. Probably something that should have been saved for an over night employee when customers are not in the store. The employees who work in the pick up department are unprofessional and rude. Made my husband place the heavy items on the kart himself and just watched. Was even angry that we didn't bring a kart to the area with us. We were picking up a desk that had two long boxes with it that can't fit in a regular shopping kart. Than to find out pieces were broken when we got home. When you mention rude Walmart employees to anyone they back them up saying "they don't get paid enough," or "they don't get treated well enough." That's not an excuse to slack on your job. You're getting paid for customer service, and if your not happy find another job. read more

Read everyones reviews. Have not had the same experience. find the store clean and the employees helpful. however I will say that the dairy and freezer sections should be restocked more frequently . Do alot of on line shopping and store pick up and have had no problem. Their prices are hard to beat. read more

This morning I was in this store and as I passed the gun counter I noticed you had ammo in stock. Specifically 22 cal. So I found an an associate and ask him to page someone in outdoor. After waiting for 10 minutes someone arrived. I told him I wanted the 22long rifle CCI rounds. I asked what he had if lead or copper. He answered target lead and hunting. Give me one box of the hunting and two target. He asked if i was paying cash or credit I said cash. We had to go to the auto register for cash. He took the rounds to auto I followed him. He went behind the counter with the rounds asked for my license and then rung me up. Gave me the ammo and left. I put my change away and started to leave when I noticed the hunting rounds were 22 mags which I couldn't use. I asked the auto associate to page him back which he did I went to the gun counter for him there was two customers waiting he never came. I had to leave due to a doctors appointment so I left and saw him by customer service . I told him what the problem was. Being that I work for Dicks sporting goods in the gun department I know there's no returns on ammo. I very upset because if he would have showed me the ammo first I would have noticed it wrong. This is what we do at Dicks to avoid any problems with ammo. Walmart doesn't have anyone in sporting goods that is experienced. There's always a wait there I always leave because of this. I wish I left this morning. I gave him the rounds back because I can't use them there no good to me. I didn't want them. I took the loss of $14.73. Never will I buy in that department again. More messy walmart than normal....only time i go in is for a quick stop in and out and always lines and slow service

i never really was a walmart shopper. I'm more of a target shopper. my mom really was set on going to walmart so of course i go against my better judgement. I go and instantly wanted to leave. If you wanna lose tons of weight and have gas to burn , i highly suggest you go here. parking is ridiculous. you literally have to park so far that you're basically in the plaza by planet fitness. you have to drive in circles like ten times and hope someone is leaving just to get parking. once you get into the store it's extremely crowded. every toy i went to pick up for my daughter; the boxes were damaged and of course the pieces were missing. the store itself is dirty and obviously not maintained. the lines are so long you'd think it's black friday or something; but i am glad they added self check out! when you're leaving the store it's the worst they try to check your receipt as if you have to legally show it to them. like chill out minimum wage worker, you're not security. overall i must say walmart's prices are decent but then again all their products are low quality.. i would not suggest going to this store. read more

Walmart middle island was the only place I could pick up two air conditioners I just purchased. I never got a call that they were ready and when I called the guy who answered the phone at the pick up desk said they were too high up and he didn't know when he could get to them. I told him to use the equipment they have to reach things that are higher up he said he get to it later and to call back. When I called back he was at dinner I had to wait till dinner this was another half a day on a Sunday that I wasted. Then when I call back you can't get anyone to ever answer finally the phone was answered by a poor customer who was standing at the pick up desk so long that he grabbed the phone because he didn't want to hear it keep ringing he told me they were not answering and the guy that was there disappeared. I had to drive over to the store now at 7o'clock on a Saturday night and thank goodness for Quentin who is one of the store managers who personally picked up the air conditioners for me and bought them out to my car. He was friendly and hard-working and I was ashamed of myself that I didn't have a dime on me to give him a tip at the time but I wanted to write a good reference for him. This young man was terrific and polite and really extended himself at a job that wasn't his but he did it for somebody else who didn't do their job during the day. You go Quentin! read more

Well I mean it's a walmart. Really can't beat their prices and it's in a convo moment location for people in the area. What I don't like is the price checkers never work and recently just took them off the wall. Some of the staff is nice. I met a few who are just ignorant and don't know a thing about the products. read more

The upside to this particular Walmart is the location. Other than that, I have very little room for positive comments. With the exception to 3 employees that come to mind, the rest of the employees leave much to be desired. Also, the checkout lanes tend to be very, very long. It seems at prime shopping times there are very few lanes open, which leads to a very long wait time. The milk cooler is in a very bad spot in the store... it is located as you exit the checkout lanes. In my opinion it should be located by the rest of the refrigerated goods. Also, their produce section is terrible, and typically is very poorly stocked. read more

Absolutely horrible experience! Went in to print 2 photos in the photo department. No one was working the desk. Had to stand in line at the electronic register for over 10 minutes. The gentleman in front of me wanted to look at phones, was told by the cashier she was too busy to help him. Cashier told me she didn't have time to process my photos, to come back in 2 hours when the next shift gets in. There was only 3 front registers open and the line for those wrapped around the store. One lady told me that she waited over 30 minutes in line for the self checkout. This is why I go to Target read more

Not the best but not the worst Wal Mart. I haven't been here a lot but the flower/outdoor section could use a little work. I've gone in here a few times looking for plants for my girlfriends grandmother and I wasn't overly impressed. Not a lot of registers open and the checkout time is a little slow. The plus side is the parking lot is very large and can handle a high volume of traffic. read more

I ordered a part for same day pickup around 3:30 and was hoping it would take about an hour to get it ready for pickup. Hours go by (4 hours and 25 mins) and i get an email at 7:55 saying it was ready so i race up the road to middle island walmart get there a couple mins after 8 like 8:03-8:05ish and they tell me its closed! I PAID TO BE ABLE TO PICK IT UP TODAY! And i dont get an email till 5 mins before it closes?! So incredibly disappointed. Cant believe i paid for this service. Two stars because I got small tv for under $100 but they really deserve one star. I have never walked into ANY place and encountered such horrible employees who obviously did not want to work at all. There were 3 of them chatting away in the electronics department, all ignored us when we walked up. The one behind the register ignored my daughter when she walked up. It was NOT busy, we were the only customers there. They brought up my television, rang me up with such a puss on his face and did not even say thank you!! I also don't want to hear complaints about being paid low wages. Many places pay low wages. I worked minimum wage jobs for years through HS and college and would NEVER have been allowed to treat customers like this. My daughter was working one of those minimum wage jobs recently and was never able to treat customers like this(and she would not have anyway). I bought a pair of tech boots for work (security guard) and had to return them because the zipper didnt work. The customer service ladies that helped me had no personal skills AT ALL. the lady was more worried about the pizza that arrived than helping me. I asked for cash back so i wouldnt have to by another broken pair of boots at that store but she actually YELLED at me for suggesting that because i didnt have a receipt. Oh yeah while shoving two garlic knots in her face at the same time while helping me. I was being perfectly professional and walked away and accepted it. But i was SCREAMED AT. This Walmart in Middle Island is my go to store only because it's closest to my house... I go as soon as they open, because I'd rather not deal with the crazies that come after 12 let alone after 5 pm...... I usually see arguments between customers or a husband and wife They hardly ever have what we are looking for as far as food goes.. They carry it but the shelves look as though they are never stocked and look in shambles... Waited over 20 minutes to get a length of plastic for my dinning room table, and this was after they called for customer assistance, some assistance... I am not one to use public bathrooms, we all know why.. Well I walked in floor was littered with toilet paper and paper towels.. Checked 4 stalls 2 were clogged with God only knows what.. 2 had blood all over the seats... It was disgusting like they have not been cleaned in a very long time... Needless to say I did not use them, waited until I got home, it was safer.. Seriously rethinking going to another store.. I hate to do that this one is so close to where I live... read more
