Finally nearing my destination I knew I was going to need to stop and grab some items to stock my room for snacks and drinks. I wasn't in the mood to stop at a gas station or drug store, so with little other time to make a decision I just pulled in here. What I like most about this location is that it is a smaller Walmart. I really appreciated that they didn't allow for them to build a superstore here and most likely shutter some local stores. I mean, this is a beach destinations and what would be a beach vacation without those local shops to get your items. You really don't want to have to go to Walmart to grab everything. With it being smaller the layout of the store was a bit off. They attempted to stuff this spot with everything you would find in a Walmart Supercenter and failed miserably. By doing so the flow of products just didn't work. You want crackers, look here first, but just to mess with you a bit, we will continue to the aisle behind you at the end of the aisle. With it being smaller, as well, this place can get quite congested. Which does not make for a good shopping experience. The register area is a mess as well. What's irritating is that this is a bag free store, unless you purchase a reusable bag. I wish I would have known that because I would have brought some in with me from my vehicle. This Walmart is not a Supercenter. This store does have the clothing, personal care, pet supplies, electronics, sporting goods and housewares like other Walmart stores. But it has a very limited grocery section with no fresh produce, limited frozen, no deli and no meats. Even the dairy is limited. What they do have was somewhat well stocked but the shelves were missing cold drinks, bread and I never did manage to find the cheese. I managed to park the Sprinter van here overnight. For a long time, I've lived in fear of Walmart's Customer Service department. Usually long, slow lines. My Mom bought a portable stereo yesterday. It didn't work right and had to go back immediately. Unfortunately, she had somehow immediately lost or had not received her receipt. I assumed that there was no way they would allow a return without a receipt and that we were screwed. I had a lightbulb moment and decided to call the store. I actually got someone on the phone (win #1). She was very helpful (win #2) and told me that the Customer Service department could print me a *duplicate receipt* if I had the same card used for payment. So I drove back down there, busted radio and credit card in hand. There was only one person in front of me. Girl at the counter was also very helpful (win #3). Asked me to put my card in the reader then she scanned the item. She asked me if there was anything wrong with it and I said to be honest, I really just want to return it. So we skipped the duplicate receipt charade and she just put the funds bank on my Mom's card and gave me a receipt for that. Big win #4...happy! Still not comfortable with Walmart's business practices, but I had a great customer experience. read more

Horrible experience! First the grocery area is disorganized with items ready to be unpacked but sitting there. Coffee area was a total disgrace. Actually had about 20 items in cart, including a box of Folgers K cups. Got to register and cashier (2nd day on job) was ringing items up. Turns out the Folgers had no bar code. The new cashier was lost and told me to go get another. I told her no, I don't work for the store. I suggested that she get it. Cashier at next register came across as a bitter indifferent older woman. My cashier went to get the manager who came over with an attitude of you expect us to get a replacement. This lying manager had no name tag or desire to be customer related. I asked if she was the manager on duty and reported that that manager was having lunch. I walked out without the items a day from my car I called the store and spoke to the "real manager on duty." She told me that she wasn't on lunch or on break when I was there. In fact she never got a call about the incident. By the way the lying fake manager tells an elderly disabled man to go walk to the back of the store and. Just went to Walmart and the document shredder I paid for yesterday on my credit card was not found on my receipt when I tried to return it. I went with my German Shepherd service dog, which had just returned from Beebe Hospital in Lewes with no issues. The store associates upset me and my service dog. They are ripping off people with disabilities. This store is being run by low calibre people. I am entitled to an apology and an invitation back to the store with my service dog. Those people would be lucky not to be put permanently on welfare starting now. read more

We are here on vacation with our family of six. They had everything we needed! We got some aloe for sunburn, a little food for the condo, and even a boogie board! There was only one cashier open which is why I did not give five stars. Have more cashiers open. Surprisingly there is not a Walmart near where we live in Pennsylvania. Pickup here is a joke. First, I was notified my pickup was ready at 8 pm last night. Arrived to find pickup was at the rear of the store- inconvenient... then my order was actually not ready. The associate was new and when I said I would like him to show me where those items would be located so we could just get the in- progress piece done quickly, , he was very helpful. I found similar items and asked him to cancel that part of my order snd complete the delivery piece. He was unsure how to do so since he was new. Appreciate his Homs there! He called the team leader who did that. But I was miffed when she told me it would be easier for me to cancel that online. By now this "quick pickup" had taken almost30 minutes. I told her that I was there because Walmart had summoned me. Very poor service with online errors and snotty middle management. Also another customer complained because she had nowhere to sit to try on shoes. COVID was blamed for that change. By now they should be cleaning the store more often. read more

Great location to get the best prices on the Wild Oats canned organic corn, the Strong & Kind Honey smoked BBQ bars, and the Parents' choice diapers with wetness indicator around here! The fresh produce has a relatively limited selection. There is not a Smartstyle hair dresser inside this store, as it is not a Walmart Super Center. Andrea T. didn't review the accurate store. The store is dirty. The food aisles are under stocked and disorganized. The employees act like they're doing you a favor by ringing up your order. Customer Service counter staff was rude and had little knowledge when I asked what aisle an item would be in after the app failed me. I only go here if I need something I've forgotten last minute for going into the beach like sunscreen, sunglasses,bathing suit, tissues, ibuprofen, etc. . The selection always looks like they just had a huge sale and haven't recovered bc the shelves are emptyish and disorganized. The app gives the wrong aisle for where things SHOULD be, but aren't necessarily. I try not to have to go to this one at all. If your desire ste, it may do in a pinch fur an extra pack of socks or panties or cleaning supplies. This area needs a Supercenter or a Target. Aggravating every visit. read more

Went to this wal-mart to pick up a pair of $5 sunglasses went up to pay , gave the cashier a twenty dollar bill she gave me my change ever thinking to check my change I just put it my purse . Later that day went to pay for something else gave that cashier the ten wal-mart cashier gave me and guess what not a real ten it was movie money !!!! What the hell !!! This is a very clean Walmart! Super white floor that was nice and polished! Staff was very friendly, and helpful, with finding what I needed. Most of the items are under $30, which makes everything very affordable, and you save a lot of money. I've Standing in line at the Garden checkout; one kind but overwhelmed cashier & the line is 20 deep. AND there's an associate just standing by the door looking bored and helpless - I imagine just in case someone tries to make-off with a 20# bag of charcoal briquettes. This store may have what you need but make no mistake; it's a dump. The aisles are two inches wide. There are no baskets to carry for shopping, only regular carts which are really good for playing bumper cars with inconsiderate customers. Items on the shelves are often sitting amidst chaos, as if tidying up all the clutter is something never considered. Lines are usually long. The layout of things at the front of the store is not conducive to an organized checkout process. Oh and the anti-vaxxers are always out in full force. The only thing positive I can think of is that employees here have almost always been friendly. Still, I long for the day when there's a Target that's closer than Dover. read more

Updating this review. Have been back a handful of times since the original. The issue with the fish has gotten way, way better. Haven't spotted any dead fish in the tanks recently. This is not a Walmart supercenter. There is no full on grocery store in this particular Walmart located on coastal highway between Lewes and Rehoboth. That being said, despite the age of the store, management does a good job keeping everything stocked most of the year (see the end of this review). There is a good selection of electronics, household items, clothing, and food staples. Groceries are very pricey in this area. Once a week I drive to the Walmart supercenter in Milford to do my grocery shopping because prices there are so much less expensive. It's definitely worth the drive. However, the Walmart here at the beach offers a great selection of home goods. Be warned... During peak summer months you will be hard-pressed to find many items because of the influx of summer tourists. read more
