This is my childhood Walmart and it has kept up over the last several decades. The reason for this review is mostly to get kudos to Mark T. in automotive as he went above and beyond to make my New Year's Eve less of a nightmare. My battery corroded pretty bad and after 5 hours of trying to fix a dead battery, I took my irritable self to Walmart Auto Care. Outside waiting for a scheduled customer was Mark and he had this chill vibe about him. I brought the battery in and he quickly helped me replace it. He let me know it was under warranty for another year. I had other shopping to do so I asked him if I could leave the battery and grab the couple of items. When I got back he said he had looked for me a cart for transport and I appreciated the gesture. He helped me carry my items to my car -- above and beyond, truly. Otherwise, this Walmart remains the same. Too much bread/dessert made and wasted, fruit and vegetables either cheap and great or absolutely ridiculous, a crowded cosmetics department, and overworked employees. read more

Arrived late and left early but still enough time to pop inside for a shop. The store is in good shape with more than enough Aggie stuff on sale. It's a full Supercenter with a large grocery section where I was able to find a few snacks for the road, then over to the men's wear for a tshirt. I'm going to have to do laundry soon! Easy checkout. I found a quiet spot, parked up, locked up and got ready for sleep. I was not disturbed and was on my way before the store opened in the morning. Easy! Thanks, Walmart. I hate doing these kind of reviews but this place has to have the WORST customer service. Waited in the automotive department for over 30 minutes for someone to unlock a case with two other groups of people and NO ONE ever came. And you want to know what was so important that they had to lock it up? A $1.97 bag of zip ties. literally what reason on earth do you need to lock up zip ties??? The other group was just looking for tape, why is tape locked up for God sake?? If you're going to lock everything up, at least make sure the department is staffed so people can get to the merchandise they want to purchase. I asked two separate people in the beauty department to call for help, including what look to be a supervisor. One of the other ladies waiting with us left, and also asked two other people in the tech department. The other group and my roommate who came with me, also went out looking for help and we received NONE. Billion dollar company, more concerned with raising prices and blaming tariffs than keeping their stores staffed and functioning. We will be going to literally anywhere else from now on. read more

9.14.23 Wow, I actually really like this Walmart. So many Walmarts are sketchy. This one was clean and tidy. They were well stocked on everything. They had a lot of Halloween decorations and candy already. I will make the drive to this Walmart. Which says a lot. read more

HORRIBLE. I don't usually write reviews. I ordered a calculator online because the night before i came and they had calculators but online was cheaper so I ordered it online and they told me to pick it up from 7-10 I came at 9 and they told me it would be here by 10. soon after walmart canceled my order because they didn't have it. I called right after and they said they had 3 in stock. This walmart is the worst i have never had any issues at other walmarts . The worst part is i had to drive to the farther than usual because the other walmarts didn't have them online so this was my last hope. There was only 1 nice person that I talked to that tried to be helpful. I didn't catch their name but it was a man in curbside pickup. Moral of the story don't buy online from this walmart there are much better walmarts in the college station/bryan area read more

I love the new renovation however, the checkout experience is totally confusing. People stand in line and it's unclear if you could just walk up and go straight to the self check out. they have greeters waiting near the self check out but the last couple of vacations they've been on their phone and not really paying attention. So you have tons of people standing around waiting for someone to go into line and nobody's actually self checking out. read more

I ordered tires on walmart.com, had them delivered to the College Station location to be installed. After "working" on it all day they called to inform me that the tires could not be installed. They claimed they did not have the correct equipment to install a common tire on a factory Toyota wheel. So not only did we waste a day running around and waiting for it, they also broke the center cap, and basically told me I was SOL. We called the Bryan location they got us right in and said this was NOT the first time this exact thing has happened. Don't waste your time at the College Station location. read more

Email said they were unable to complete my delivery which has never happened before. Called Walmart in College Station and Arron said " we will look into it". When I asked if he would be delivering it, he said "we will do what we can". When I asked what does that mean, he hung up on me and wouldn't answer phone again. read more

This Walmart is the best Walmart I've ever been to. When I walked in, I could smell the good deals and items from the doorway. As I walked around the store my Morb senses went off, something was here... I walked everywhere, the grocery aisle, the toy section, the women's clothing section then finally I saw it. Morbius. Although not here in the flesh I could feel the Morb presence. Instantly, I Morbed a little bit. As I held Morbius, I Morbed everywhere! It was all over the movie section, the keyboard aisle, and the video games. The Morb was too strong for me. I love this Walmart. It unlocked my true Morb potential. Well I just ordered a 70inch tv online for same day pick up, and the only reason I did order this one tv was because of same day pick up, only to be told that it will be up to 3 days for the pick up after of course the money was taken out of my personal account right away. Now the event that I ordered it for will not have the presentation that we needed it for and of course when asked for a refund that will also take 3 days so thank you so much college station Walmart not only did you get me one time the second hurt just a little more. This is not the worst Walmart store. But it is rather bad, especially considering its location and its being the second newest store in the area. Unfortunately, a lot of problems stem here from the management of this store. I've spoken with a few managers/assistant managers on several occasions, and except one or maybe two, they don't care to do things the right way. Every so often, I think that maybe it is not the fault of those people. Maybe that's a corporate policy: do not make it convenient for the customers; mess them (customers) up with everything you can: online orders that are shown as available for pickup but aren't really; making customers jumping through hoops when the store is undergoing some uplifting; etc. Calling the store to find out the ETA for the "pickup today" order that turned out to be unavailable: "- The estimated arrival should be in your e-mail message. - It is not. The message telling me about the delay shows ETA of yesterday after 6pm, and it was sent at 5:51pm yesterday. - Yes, the item is unavailable, new one is shipped. - So when will it be available? - It is in your e-mail message. - It is not. - But it should be there. [the same sequence repeated two more times] ..." Groceries? I no longer even step in that part of the store. I've tasted too many tasteless fruits there, and have been burnt by melted-and-refrozen ice cream. read more

The only reason this Walmart got a star is because I couldn't give them anything less. This is by far the worst Walmart. The automotive center is terrible. I was told an oil change would only take 30 minutes and have been sitting here for 2 hours. And when I asked Roberto (the cashier back in auto) how long it would take, he looked at me like I was dumb and said "he's working on it". They literally have no other cars in the bay. For me, granted I went in shortly after they opened for the day but the staff was friendly and helpful, the produce section was immaculate and fully stocked, the bakery was as well. I am not pleased with my visit to this location of Walmart. The layout is very confusing and doesn't make any sense-also feels very congested. I also needed a simple paint sample and no one was in the paint section. I patiently waited, no one came. I asked a worker and they then announced it on the radio and no one came. Asked another worker after several minutes, no one came. Waited a couple more minutes and I asked another worker and she said someone would be on their way and no one came. Finally decided I'd ask 1 more worker and no one came. Very disappointed and majorly wasted my time when all I needed was a simple paint sample. read more

This is the worst Walmart I have ever been to. They denied me the ability to buy alcohol and I am 22 years old, then the cashier told all the others not to let me buy alcohol for no reason. They were extremely rude and it was all unnecessary. I will NEVER go to their store again! read more

Ya who enter this store, prepare to be abused! Some of the abuse comes from the evil empire, and some is locally grown. Local: There is absolutely no reason to request SSNs for layaway, or driver's license for picking up on-line purchases, yet this store insists on it with all its might. The clerk refused to give my already paid-for things, even though there was no question that I am the person who placed the online order and paid for it. Of course, there was no mention of this on the website, where Walmart cheerfully charged my credit card without asking for personal information. The parking lot is a health hazard - always dirty, always full of stray shopping carts, even when the store is not terribly busy. The customer service line is always long, and always painfully slow. Avoid like the plague. And then there is the corporate abuse from above: Prices are far from low. Food tastes terrible (every single item I've tried). Quality is horrible. Selection is volatile. There is a bright spot: the employees. Walmart employs plenty of nice people. But then initiative, brain use, and any customer service attitude is strongly discouraged, in favor of following the letter of the policies. read more

Walmart is always an easy go to for cheap staples but I wouldn't trust them for anything that matters. I made the mistake of buying fresh chicken for dinner and learned a hard lesson. I opened the package and was met by the smell of rancid meat. Ugh. Scratch plans for dinner. I realized part of the error was on me for not checking the date prior to purchase but, I would expect anyone selling perishable goods to remove them from the shelves once the sell by date has passed. To add insult to injury I brought the receipt in to complain and was told that I needed to bring the rancid meat with me, because anyone wants to store rancid meat in their fridge or drop everything and drive back to the store after experiencing the irritation of the product you just bought being spoiled. A good place for last minute things, not a main place for shopping. Whenever, I need something last minute and I am not near the other stores. I come here. The produce section was limited and the craft section was minimized. If you need to get a last minute item (e.g. ice-cream, milk, bread), then it is okay to come here. The store is clean and orderly. The natural light from the ceiling windows brighten the store. The pharmacy is very helpful. Never bought clothes here. I cannot comment on quality. However, the employees are very helpful and cheerful. This makes every visit pleasant. read more

Terrible phone system. 14 minutes and could never get sporting goods. I found out that the Sporting goods phone is at the automotive department. the person who was supposed to be in sporting goods was stocking, pricing and NOBODY helped me after I showed up and spoke to the manager. . I saw another customer with a fishing pole and some tackle walking around. I asked him if he had seen sporting goods person. Said he'd been there for 20 minutes and NOBODY HELPED him or asked him if he needed help. The person at sporting goods came after I went up front to page someone to the department and she was apologetic but obviously stretched too thin. Last store I saw this way was Service Merchandise right before they went out of business. If you own walmart stock sell it or short it. read more

The old Wal Mart has finally been converted and what stands before you now is an ultra-modern super center. I went in this evening to purchase a camera. The lady working the electronics department was really friendly and helpful. The camera I wanted was $50 off the original price so I was really happy with my purchase. So why only 3 stars? The parking lot. One would think that slanted parking spaces should be the norm at all businesses. But not this one. I imagine that the engineers who designed this place were only thinking of maximizing profits by cramming as many cars as possible into the parking lot. What I don't think they took into consideration is the fact that some of us drive full size trucks. The design of this lot is obviously only intended for people who drive sub-compact econo-hybrid cars. Big disappointment, Wal Mart. read more

My wife and I travel in our motorhome full time and have stayed in many Walmart parking lots across the country because we feel safe in them, and we always need food and supplies. Recently we stayed in the one at College Station Texas and I have to say that it was not like the Walmart we are accustomed to. The young man that was getting shopping carts out of the parking lot looked like he was a member of a gang. He wore his pants so low that I wondered how they kept from falling down the rest of the way. The men's restroom was so nasty that I turned around and didn't use it. There was trash all over the floor inside the store. I have never complained before but this time it was warranted. read more

I will not go to this Walmart ever again!! I have tried and tried to give them chances, but this is the most unorganized, uncaring store I can think of! As far as I'm concerned this whole problem lays on the managers shoulders. The lack of properly trained employees and unclean spaces to the over worked unappreciated employees! I asked for one person's name or ID number so that I could write one nice thing in saying how hard she tried (45 minutes) to get someone on the phone to help me. The employees are mostly not very helpful. Some of the 20 somethings that work their are more interested in talking to each other and hanging out rather than providing any service. The store arrangement is different from some other Walmarts. They do not have a good selection of fresh vegetables or fruits. The culligan water dispenser seems to fail often. The store seems to run out of shopping carts quite often. The guys bringing back the carts need to get their act together. Somebody needs to crack the whip and get these guys to work. read more

I ordered a cake for a birthday party and nothing was right. It was supposed to be a light pink cake with light grey edging and our cake is a brown purple with pink edging the words are in the wrong space. VERY unhappy. read more
