This place decided to go to mostly self checkout and it was already a joke to shop there. So sad and I am percent going to avoid them now.

The location is convenient. We get off of the freeway nearby and stop here before going to our campsite. The corn didn't seem as fresh as I've gotten at other stores. Beer section had a lot of empty spots. This was a Tuesday (June 29) so that was not expected. I was surprise at how many people did not wear masks even though it was the day prior to the governors order. Yes, this means employees were not wearing them. I think the main problem is that I could not find employees in the grocery area. It would be nice to have someone nearby when you have a question rather than having to walk all the way to the register when you are way back in the paper section. Hopefully things improve before my next visit next year. read more

I'm from California (no hating, please), and it seems to me that Walmarts are better outside the formerly golden state. Take the one in Cottage Grove. It's clean, large, and close to I-5. We had a few things to get, and found them with no problems. Prices are low ... so is the level of customer service ... but Walmart workers here are more helpful than south of the border. As a bonus, there are several fast food places nearby. Yeah, I like this Walmart. I hope it serves you well; it served us well. Take this Walmart - please! read more

August 30th 2024..... I came to this location and purchased a item. I then noticed that there was something else that I wanted to get but I did not have enough money so I wanted to return the previous item I had bought get in store credit and purchase the other item that I had in mind. When I returned the previous item they gave me HALF of what I paid. They said necessarily when you purchase an it depreciates in value. WHAT A EXCUSE!!! I would have let that slide if they would have let me get the other item in question. They made me jump through hoops. They lied about their policies and gave me a bunch of bullshit!!! It's a terrible location the bathrooms are dirty as hell and when I asked them if they could hold on to the item I wanted to purchase they said, WE DO NOT HOLD ITEMS FOR CUSTOMERS and they were very snotty!!! Walmart doesn't care about the customer. They care about your cash. They don't see you as a customer. They see you as a Dollar sign. NOTHING MORE. NOTHING LESS. I am living proof!!! And if they can they'll take money from disabled people and rip them off. Just before I left today after the altercation, they said we don't care if you come back. You're a customer. You could always be replaced. I'll be shopping at Target for anything I need and I'll get my groceries from Cub Foods from now on. I now end this review with 3 words..... I was very impressed by this Walmart. My kid needed a lot of stuff for her UO dorm (I thought we had purchased everything needed, but apparently I was mistaken. LOL! Who knew a tiny room the size of a prison cell needed so much stuff???). At any rate, thank goodness for this Walmart. It had everything - and more! First of all, the grocery department was amazing. Tons of fresh produce, aisles and aisles of refrigerated and frozen foods, and non-perishable pantry foods, too. And as expected, the prices were fantastic. Tons of options, of smaller scale packaged foods and waters, perfect for dorms and small-scale fridges. The store is super clean and well laid-out, and easy to find what I needed (electronics, school supplies, Command hooks, bath and beauty items, etc). At one point I did need assistance in locating an item and I readily found an employee on the floor nearby and he knew immediately where to direct me. Nice! Bonus that they have a lot of UO Duck items (and reasonably priced, too!). The bathrooms were the cleanest of any Walmart I have ever been to. Carol at the cash check-out was quick and efficient and very friendly to boot. Great store. read more

We accidentally left behind a 35 gallon garbage container. I called and they told me at customer service that it wasn't there and bring receipt and they would review security footage to see if we took it with us. I drove back there from Drain and immediately saw it at the end of the aisle were the cigarettes are sold. If they looked at all they would have seen, I saw it within the first minute standing at customer service. Either the customer service employees are lazy or stupid or a little of both! read more

This is the walmart i go to even though it is 45 minutes away cause i know i can get good trusted service. However i have to give this walmart a one star today because not only did they go to cheap thin bags the gal that was ringing our things up had no clue of how to do it properly . In the thin bags she put some jars and they fell through crashed all over the floor made a mess. this did not teach her she kept doing it so by the time she rang up everything she had to send a fellow employee back to get replacements for all the items she so carelessly put in these thin bags. I suggest that walmart give their cashiers a lesson on how to bag things like double bagging items that are breakable for example, put all frozen and refrigerated items together another issue i had with her she was putting cheese with bleach and such like really? so this walmart flunks on the review today read more

I give them decent prices. However, for what you save, you cut yourself short in quality. If you're heading here for their discount prices, expect screaming children, disorganized shelves, and dirty floors/carts/shelves/parking lots. If you can get in and get out, you may survive, but you feel dirty while you're there. I'm okay with a rustic feel, but this place is just disgusting. And I didn't even get into discussing their nasty and gross employees (or their employment practices). read more

I'm a truck driver and I'm a California resident.. A little embarrassed say that I'm from Cali now a days Anyways.. I shop at this Walmart for 4 reasons. Easy access from the Interstate, Never any problems getting a parking spot, Very friendly and helpful staff and No State Sales Tax!! But 1 thing. They need to update there hours on the internet. Dark, Dirty, and bad quality, Buy a coffee maker and the coffee comes out cold, return it and the new one does the same thing? Ok get a different brand and the coffee smells like plastic? Not one worker I talked to would smile or knew an answer. And now they are going to build an even bigger store! YAY more bad stuff and more dirty floors. As with any place you frequent, there are good experiences and then not so good. Unless you've worked at a store of this size and have done customer service for the majority of your life you can never really understand what an employee may go through. Fortunately, I have stood in the shoes of the retail customer service agent. So here is my take on the Cottage Grove Super Wal-Mart. The workers I've encountered for help on 'where's this,' and, 'do you know if you have that,' have been readily willing to help. I have not found the store to be extremely dirty, and I think that they have been learning new systems goes a long way to approve their overall patience with their customers. I can also say I have seen more smiles on their workers than at other places. They do their best when it comes to convenience for those they help, and I have not yet seen an employee who will just sit around and yack their whole shift. I have seen them wipe down their check stand conveyors (which is more than I can say for other retailers), and I have witnessed checkers actually use their sanitizing gel. Not all Items will be perfect. Wal-mart employees just put the products on the shelf, so if you end up with a lemon, be sure to return it. The customer service desk seems to always be busy, but I have never had trouble with returning an item, or cashing a check. They strive to make the process as little time consuming as possible. So overall, I would say Wal-Mart Cottage Grove is an okay store! They do what they can, and I feel that their customer service is something to be patterned after when it comes to courtesy. If I could give this place a one star, I would. I'm a vendor and as protocol goes, I'm supposed to sign in (time, date, name and company I'm associated with) and have to have a vendor name tag with the date and my company. I have been waiting for over and HOUR just to get a name tag. The way this store treats their vendors is absolutely ridiculous. read more

Your typical American Walmart. I'm so used to my brand new, brighter and cleaner Walmart in Cornelius that I tend to forget there are walmarts out there like this one that give Walmart a bad name. Everything that you'll find in a 90s era Walmart can be found here. Tiny store. Low ceilings. Dirty floors. Cramped aisles. Yuck. Trust me. If you are ever up in the Portland area stop by the Cornelius Oregon Walmart or do a google search or search on flickr You'd be surprised how far Walmart has come. read more

Smaller older Wally World located right next door to the Village Green Resort. This works out great if you're staying there and forgot anything. You can just walk over to Wally World and do some shopping. read more

I thought the Walmart in my home town was scary, good lord. We were greeted by a fellow patron's hairy, lumpy, seemingly never ending butt crack. The store was poorly ventilated, cramped, and out dated. There was a large group of employees taking some hostess snacks of a shelf, supposedly transporting them to another location in the store. It looked suspiciously like they were just waiting for everyone to leave them alone so they could eat the doughnuts instead. Unless you are desperate like I was, I suggest just waiting til you find the next store. read more

First off it's Wal Mart let's not get too excited. They have empty shelves a lot dented and damaged products. It's small and not the best Wal Mart around but this is a small town and we are lucky to have one. Not a big grocery section due to it being a smaller store. But you can't really beat the prices on some things. Yes some of the items are poor quality but others are well known brands at a much better price than other stores. read more

I was here with my 19 year old daughter on September 20, 2017 and bought 160.00 worth of groceries - among them a bottle of wine. The cashier asked for my daughter's ID. I told the cashier that she was 19 and that I was 53 - she could see my ID if she needed to. I was informed that we BOTH needed to be 21. What??? I asked, did that mean I couldn't grocery shop and buy a bottle of wine if I were with a 5 year old? Nope - she said only if I were with one of my kids over 18. Really WalMart??? So my kids can't shop with me between the ages of 18 and 21? This is LUDICROUS! What kind of policy is this?? 2 customers behind me in line were irate as well. I literally had my bottle of wine taken out of my cart! That was humiliating and WRONG. I would love to know the thinking behind this. I was told by another employee that @its because at 18 they should have ID with them." WHAT? She DID HAVE HER ID! But it says she's 19!! It's not OK for a 19 year old to grocery shop with her mom??? read more
