So we all universally agree that Walmart is the worst and the corporation, as a whole, is one of the worst corporations in the United States and they manufacture sweat shop clothes and they import subpar food from various countries that probably don't adhere to our food standards. That being said, everyone shops at Walmart. We all hate it and we all deny it, but if you need 6 apples, hair clips, deodorant, spaghetti sauce, and dishwashing detergent, you aren't going to go to the grocery store and the closest Target is Chantilly. SO. Walmart. This Walmart is new (roughly a year old) so it's super clean and still adheres to the "look we're new and organized!" motto. Prices are typical to most Walmarts, very cheap. They have many of the kid carts which is nice. They have 729 registers and normally one person working on register 14 with a long line. Employees are kind, albeit often confused. They seem to be regularly stocking which is nice. Fruit is decent if you plan to eat it within 6-24 hours and don't mind the taste of pesticides (I know I sure don't. 'Merica!). Overall, it's decent. Shun my review and pretend you don't shop at Walmart. It's all fun and games until you're 3 hours into a 9 hour road trip and your kid barfs in the backseat and you need a dirt cheap towel, wipes, air freshener, crackers, bags, and a new outfit and Walmart is the only thing off the exit on 95. read more

I am writing because I was wronged by several members at a local Walmart store #03639. I was at this store on 8/29/16 to buy a rifle. I showed up at 7:30pm and an employee behind the sporting goods desk by the name of Sakattar refused to sell it to be because "it is too close to 8pm" as he said. I persisted that he start the paperwork because I knew this sale would cause the rifle to be sold quickly. Sakattar still did nothing, I asked his several times and finally had to find a manager as I did not want to leave empty handed. Finally Monir, a co-manager was brought to the counter. He told me that he would reserve the rifle for me and took down my name and phone number and advised me to return at noon tomorrow. I pleaded with him but he said they would not start the sale because it was now 8pm and it would take too long. I was very upset but could do nothing so I said I could be back by 11:00am the next day. I arrived 10 minutes early to find that Scott, the department manager, had just sold the rifle to another customer. As you can imagine I was very upset. All of this could have been avoided if Sakattar had just done what I had asked. I asked to speak with a manager at this point because I was lied to by at least two employees, one of them a manager. Co-manager Camilla said they were sorry but that did not help my problem. I asked Scott to order me one since it Monir had made a false promise to me. Scott said it would take 10 -12 business days and it should be in. I spent the last few weeks trying to reach Scott on the phone only to get a hold of him once last week, to which he said he had not yet received the rifle and that he would call me back with more information. I never heard back from him for a week. Again I called the store and spoke with Monir, he said he would check with Scott and call me back to follow up... I NEVER heard back from Monir. Just today 9/26/16, nearly a full month later I called to check on the status and asked to speak with Co-Manager Camilla. She informed me that the rifle was ordered but the supplier was out of stock. NO ONE told me about this for nearly 4 weeks! I am beyond upset with the employees at this Walmart. Not one of them was helpful in the least and this all could have been avoided if Sakattar was not too lazy to do his job. Or if Monir did not have an arrogant attitude and would have been more helpful. All Monir did was have me return when he was not scheduled to work so the problem could be dealt with by someone else. Monir was the least helpful and most frustrating to deal with throughout this entire ordeal. Now I have a hunting trip that I was only attending because I could afford the rifle needed only to find that I have to cancel it because of the poor attitudes, lack of professionalism, dishonesty and poor customer service provided by Walmart employees. Long story short: I was lied to by walmart managers and missed out on a rifle i wanted specifically for a hunting trip and did not get it because the original employee was too LAZY to do his job. I really hope corporate sees how upset I am regarding this and contacts me to make this right. read more

Upon entering the store I notice how big and clean it is, very nice! So I'm there with my brother because he's hosting a bbq with his friends who are all 21 & over. We get to the check out and the employee scans the alcoholic items and he asks my brother for his ID and he proceeds to scan items. Later during the transaction the man points at me and says, "Can I see her ID?" My brother and I look in confusion and ask why he needs my ID. *I'm not 21, but I wasn't the one making the purchase. In fact I had a few things of my own that I was buying once my brothers transaction was done.* And the man says "it's a store rule". I said "it's not my transaction." He said he was going to get the manager to see what he should do. So he and the manager are whispering to each other, which is another problem; the customer should be allowed to hear what the employee and manager are saying about a situation that involves the customer himself. While he talked to his manager, I took my stuff and went to self checkout. My brother told me when we met up after our transactions that he was told he couldn't take the alcohol. The fact that his sister was with him shouldn't affect the ability for him to purchase something he is legally allowed to buy. We wonder what they would do if a parent brought their child in with them while buying alcohol, would they ask for the child's ID? Or would they assume that the parent is responsible enough to not give their child alcohol? Had I not been in that lane my brother would have been "allowed" to buy it. My presence shouldn't have affected the situation. I wonder why the man assumed we were friends or related, I had a separate transaction. Anyways, rant over. If you could get negative stars this place would have them. I needed to check out wine with their new automated check out and they had four store managers and no customer service people out in front of the check out. I literally had to whistle and call them to get them to look up from their phones. If you need groceries or medications that require any kind of customer service go anywhere else there are five groceries stores within five minutes of here. read more

I always knew Wal Mart customer service was bad but not this bad. Went to return an item a little before 7 am. I was told to wait until after 7. Mind you they're no signs posting hours for customer service, so I wait. 7 comes around and I continue to wait while the guy who supposedly works in customer service walks by several times not even paying me any mind. read more

I was trying to check out at one of the self serve machines. I had a large amount of groceries and I was having difficulty lifting some of the heavy items due to me having only one hand and my husband unable to lift anything heavy due to very detriorated back from age. One of the self serve attendants, Nadia, saw me struggling & came over to help. She also grabbed a second cart for us to put the bagged groceries in since there wasn't room on the shelf attached to the checkout. She also approved the bottle of wine we purchased. Nadia was the most caring & thoughtful employee at Walmart we have ever met. We can't thank her enough for her noticing our struggle & stepping right up to help. This Walmart was a hidden gem!! Tucked away..can't even see it from the street, I found this location and was so grateful for it! It is somewhat rare to find a clean, organized Walmart but this one is the very best in this area! I stopped going to the Walmart in Sterling because parking was a nightmare and the lines were outrageous!! When we first came to this location, it was quiet, peaceful and clean. I remember looking through the toy aisle near xmas time thinking how organized this store was. Now the word has gotten out and it gets very packed on the weekends especially Sundays!! There's lots to say about this Dulles Landing Walmart. In the first year (or rather first 2 months), we realized that unless you want to stand in a cashier (human being) line for more than 45 minutes, then go ahead and buy your things at a cashier line. If you have a life and need to be somewhere, do the Scan & Go. ALWAYS scan and bag your own things!! Never go to a human-controlled check out line! Their computer system is great, you can always look up produce, so don't let that deter you. The prices have always been 100% accurate (unlike Harris Teeter) in the computer system. Kudos to the people who update it and do the data entry here at Walmart. For the past 5 years I've not had a problem here ever, unless you expect their workers to know anything about anything. They are hired and paid to fulfill on-line/pickup/delivery orders, NOT to provide customer service to you or anyone you know. As long as you manage your expectations, you will have a pleasant experience while shopping there, as the inventory is quite good (except in the beauty aisles, the good stuff is always out of stock). NOW, the reason I am writing this review at all after all these years is that I have to say I just had the best experience at their Pharmacy! I never utilized this pharmacy until last week, and again today, when my dog needed a prescription and a refill... They were super efficient, courteous and competent!!! Wow, how's that for words to use in a Walmart review. This pharmacy staff should be commended and I am giving this a 5-star review for that and my previous comments. If they continue to provide this level of service excellence, I will never fill Rx prescriptions at CVS or Walgreens again! read more

The worst Customer service I have ever seen, walking on the way out with my son ,5ft away from the door and two employees locked both doors and said sorry the door now locked and you have to go all the way to the other side of the store because it is locking time and we can't open it again... They refused to open it to let us out ,asking for manager to Speak with and waiting for her to come .....Then she asked one of them to open it ! I am sure any other store in US will never do that. This is the cleanest and most organized Walmart store in the area. This location has the online grocery pickup which is a huge convenience. They also carry Halal meat, very limited halal frozen, Mediteranian grocery and an Indian section. The workers are nice but some speak limited English. read more

Now granted - I will continue to shop here as it is local, has decent prices, and typically has what I need. That being said, after coming here for almost 2 years, I finally feel the need to mention this... I have never been in a retail store where the employees as a whole, are unprofessional, rude, and incompetent. I worked at a Walmart myself for a few years. I cannot believe how rude the employees are. They constantly block aisles with their carts, and when customers ask to get by, they roll their eyes, or look at them and ignore the customer. Each and every time I am in this store, employees are on their cell phones while working on the floor, talking loudly, too busy to help customers. Repeatedly, I have found items marked incorrectly. Just this evening I tried to purchase shampoo that was clearly marked clearance for the entire brand, both rang up incorrectly. The cashier called a yellow vest- wearing man to help her find the price. I waited 10 minutes and he never returned. I was not far from that department. Then another cashier walks over to my cashier and asks her in another language what was going on. They begin to obviously laugh about the situation but do nothing about it. I consider myself to be a Walmart whore, so as you can imagine, I was quite happy to see that this location would be opening up so close to me. The closest store used to be the one in chantilly shopping center. (You can read my review on that one to see how I feel about it), but anyway... This location is nice so far. HUGE, clean, great selection of items, mostly friendly and helpful staff. My only issue as of now is the checkout process. In the 10 days that it's been open, I've made over 5 trips... and I've had an issue at checkout literally every single time. Whether it's the cashier not knowing what they're doing, the equipment not cooperating or WHATEVER, the process has never been smooth. Hopefully, in time, they'll work out the kinks. The worst customer service I have ever received. I was put on hold over 6 times for over 15 minutes each time by the same person who was very rude over the phone. Continued to place me on hold every time I picked up without saying a word to me. I would not recommend trying to reason with them, as customer service clearly is not a priority for this business. The manager was apologetic and hung up the phone when she said she was going to transfer me over to customer service. And this was all for a simple question on whether my brothers birthday gift, which was already delayed a week is still not ready and his birthday is tomorrow. The store is at a great location. The checkout lady took 12 minutes to checkout. It felt like forever for her to finish the transaction. She had to call a supervisor to validate one coupon. She took out her glasses and read front and back of a coffee coupon before scanning. Not sure if she was that stupid to realize the scanner identifies invalid coupons. read more

This is a well-organized store, but it's completely ruined by the RUDEST employees I've ever experienced at a store. Literally stand in your way stocking and won't move. Give dirty looks and slowest rudest cashiers ever. I was trying to load heavy items into my cart and a male cashier next to my line who had NO ONE in his line was standing in my way and instead of helping me, he was trying to edge me over so he could look at an item on the rack. So I arrive in the morning to see 5 emplyeees oustside smoking 10-15 feet from front door. Ok it's Walmart i realize I am at the garbage center of retail. I go in and shop. I go to checkout and they have 1 I repeat 1 checkout open. I see about 10 employees doing nothing but avoiding eye contact. I love how close it is to my house, I can always run in find what I need and get out. Unlike Target where I end up spending at least $100 on stuff I don't need. I find myself going to Walmart more than Target now a days. The checkout lines are typically short and the self check out area is huge and rarely is there ever a line for self check out. Produce for the most part is fresh and well stocked. The store is clean and offers a great selection of merchandise. Surprisingly the store does not feel crowded even though there are tons of people there shopping, you don't feel like your personal space is being encroached upon. I will continue to shop here rather than drive 10 minutes further to get to Target. read more

If you by a gift card at this store, you better be sure they hand it to you and not just pretend to place it in a bag. I expected the card to be in the bags as they push them on the carousel to you but they don't. I lost a $50.00 gift card from this store and then they give you completely different stories when you asked for review of the cameras. The clerk stated he handed the card directly to me but the camera does not show that and then they stated that it was in one of the bags they spun around to me which it was not either. This place rocks. It's usually super clean and neat when I come. What makes me keep coming back is their bakery. Their treats made in house are amazing! Our favorites are the chocolate brioche, Italian bread, French bread, and Everything bread (basically the seasoning of an everything bagel, but on a loaf of French bread). Their donuts are good too. For the most part, the employees are nice and helpful. If you're especially busy, I recommend using their grocery app. You shop online, and check in using the app once you leave to pick up your groceries. GPS tracks you so that your groceries are bagged, ready, and waiting for you. They bring it out to your car and load them in your trunk. It's super convenient for those who are busy. Minimum purchase of $35, tipping isn't required. If you allow for substitutions they will usually replace it with the same item, but bigger or something similar. You have the option of rejecting the substitution once you get there. read more

I would love to meet the idiot who decided to build this big beautiful store then name it the "Dulles" Walmart. I have lived in this area for almost 20 years. For the first time, I decided that I would order groceries online since this was now available to me. I was having a huge party and figured this would save me so much time. I spent plenty of time picking exactly everything that I needed and scheduled a time where I could fit it into my chaotic day. I went to my normal Walmart in Dulles Virginia that I have been going to for all these years. Come to find out there is another Dulles Walmart that is in the town of Aldie. My normal Walmart is on Dulles crossing. Now this new one over a half an hour away is on Dulles Landing. This is so confusing!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can only imagine that the other stores like Michael's and Ross and five below are experiencing the same problem due to the name confusion. With construction and traffic it ended up taking me almost 2 hours to pick up my groceries that I expected to take me less than 15 minutes. I expressed my concern and the store manager gave me a $15 gift card for my next purchase. That was a sweet gesture but couldn't buy back my time. I have yet to go inside the store to see if the lines are as long as the other Walmart but just be warned and be careful of the address when you are doing any business with these two stores. read more

I was so excited when this Walmart first came to Aldie. These days I literally sit and make a pro/con list before I go here -- are the savings worth dealing with the awful customer service and the pain of navigating aisles filled with employees who won't even look at me or respond if I say excuse me while they block the aisles restocking or talking to each other? Some days I really need a mix of face wash, mailing envelopes,and produce, and Walmart just seems like the obvious choice. So I suck it up and go and without fail have to deal with being cut off in the aisles (by EMPLOYEES), being ignored by customer service reps, having to navigate aisles blocked by employees who are filling online orders, and dealing with checkout lines that take much longer than they should (not to mention once the cashier tore a hole in my frozen vegetable bag trying to find the bar code and then just threw the now wide-open veggies in the grocery bag...) Yesterday I witnessed a woman yelling at the cashier because she wasn't listening to her instructions to pick out something she wanted behind the counter. I do not condone yelling at anyone, not even an employee who goes out of their way to step in front of my cart and then glare at me when I come to a screeching halt and barely miss running into them. But I also understood some of her frustration because there is a severe lack of respect and perhaps training among these employees. I'm not saying I will never go back (because those deals / maybe I'm a glutton for punishment) but there are definitely MANY times I would have gone to Walmart but its been a hard enough day already, so I go a little further to the Harris Teeter where everyone is nice, lines are fast, and I can take a free cookie to go. read more

Recently opened 24 hour Walmart Supercenter in a very wealthy and fast growing area of Loudoun County in Northern Virginia. As one would expect for the area, this is a very clean and upscale feeling Walmart Supercenter. It hardly ever gets super busy, and is a downright ghost town at night. There is a surprisingly limited selection of products in some of the non grocery departments, such as electronics, but it has a huge grocery department even by Walmart Supercenter standards. I think that this location might have additional organic and international groceries, in addition to the usual selection, due to the affluent and diverse demographics of the surrounding area. The Subway restaurant inside this store is the best Subway restaurant I've been to, in terms of both the service and the quality of the food. Overall, this is an upscale, almost Wegmans like Walmart Supercenter that is befitting the wealthy, diverse, and fast growing area that it is located in. read more

It's a good store, clean and with friendly employees (with one exception, more on that later). I have no real complaints about the store itself, except that the pet department is placed at the other side of the store from cleaning, unlike all the other Walmarts I've shopped in. Now on to the one really rude exception I mentioned... now I've known this woman, name of Urmila, for over three years, and for my part I considered her a friend. She's married, but has shown signs of jealousy towards me for talking to/going down another woman's lane. Not extreme jealousy, mind you, and she's always recovered from it quickly enough... until two weeks ago. Another attractive associate, whom I have a crush on, flirted with me in Urmila's presence. Urmila then gave me a death glare and sharply looked away, and about 20 minutes later, when I was done shopping, I foolishly went down Urmila's line. She very rudely insulted and belittled me and my father (who was with me); I'm unemployed at this time, and I casually mentioned that i was tired, and then she insolently asked me why I was tired if I was unemployed... then she asked my father if "he had a job". He's retired, and in relatively good health, but he didn't used to be for years and required constant caring for, and the only person to do so was me. I had to sacrifice my career for my father. Urmila deserves to be fired, but Walmart policy won't. She has to have three complaints leveled against her for them to even consider it, but I don't care; her insolent betrayal of our friendship deserves firing. My father and I are outraged. Other than this issue I have no other issues with this store, the employees are friendly and the management is understanding. read more
