I've stopped at this Walmart several times now and I've found it to be clean and easy to get in and out. Parking lot has ample parking. The checkouts were under control and fast to get out. I've found this store to carry items that the other local stores didn't carry. Overall this Walmart is great and compared to the other Walmarts in the area this one is one I prefer to shop at. read more

Don't normally write reviews but my last shopping experience was horrendous. Tried to withdrawal cash from self checkout so it charged my card but didn't dispense anything. I HAD TO WAIT 45 MINUTES because they needed a supervisor, who needed security to go through the cameras to make sure I WASN'T STEALING. WHY ACCUSE ME OF STEALING WHEN THE MACHINE DIDN'T DISPENSE ANYTHING TO BEGIN WITH and it gave me an error stub proving that?!?!?! horrible store. they constantly accuse customers of stealing. Every time I go through self check it "flags" for an "associate" due to a "possible missed scan" and then it shows a video of you like you are trying to rip them off for their $2.00 generic cookies! We spend $1200 a month on groceries but yes! ...I am going to steal a $2.00item! Then I have to point out to the employee the item scanned just fine since price is on the list with others already bagged. Unreal! Going back to target. First of all, Walmart is not open "24/7" anymore. Their store is poorly stocked, constantly out of items that other stores have in stock. The store is a lousy shopping experience with dirty carts, isles and floors. Lastly, Walmart has the nerve to charge an annual fee for services such as curbside pickup and delivery. Target offers the same services free as part of their normal superior customer service. I will never shop money grabbing Walmart again. Bye bye! read more

Girl told me that someone probably put the dog toy on wrong spot I told her no there was more there. Went back took a picture and said I would like the dog toy for what it was advertised she told me no. I went to this store at 5:00PM on a Sunday. I should have known by seeing several people coming out without masks on. I thought maybe they took them off immediately when they walked out the exit. But when I entered I was shocked to see 2 men walking around without masks on. I looked over at the checkouts and saw 3 people with masks off, and at least 4 employees with masks below their noses. It did not get better, I had to keep swerving to avoid coming in close contact with people whose noses and mouths were exposed. I saw a cluster of 5 employees stocking produce noses out. I had a few items in my cart but quickly abandoned it and walked out. I was so angry and wanted to tell a manager but did not want to be inside that building for a second longer. The smug look on the man's face who was walking around maskless with a mask shoved in his coat pocket sent me over the edge. He had several items which means he was shopping a while and no employee reprimanded him. Walmart is it more important to make customers happy than to create a Covid hot spot and sicken your employees and customers. I realize I was in an 3rd-4th ring outer suburb where most believe its a hoax and no big deal. It didn't help when I went to the adjacent PetSmart 2 middle age women walked right in without masks and to the back of the store. GREAT JOB ELK RIVER!!! Don't complain when your hospitals are full and people get sick in the large senior building next to Walmart. I plan to stay far away. read more

In all honesty, I would rather give this place one star, but that would be hypocritical since I do come here for alot of different things. Oh boy where to start... THE PRODUCE! I cannot believe just how little care is put into displaying their food. Everything is all jumbled around, many items are not labled or priced, customer service associates have no idea where anything is, ect. But the game killer for this particular walmart location is that they pass and sell rotting produce. I cannot count the number of hundreds of dollars we have wasted on what is supposed to be "fresh produce" just to take it home, cut it open for dinner (Bell peppers, onions, potatoes, spinach, carrots, you name it.) and boom. Rotten or moldy on the inside.... Where this company gets off passing some of its product, way beyong me. But i wish theyd take the high monkey out of the QA department and get some help in there. After that, its the sheer terrible customer service that brings this place down as well. Even in the McDonald's part, it seems no one cares to help any customers, no associate knows where anything is, and tthe greater percentage of workers here justdont seem to care. Thats probably why I shop here at night time now anyways. with the exception of some of the customer service center desk and electronics associates, this place just screams "Shop elsewhere" on the employees faces. I dont care how much a person can save here, there is just so many better places. Especially if youre going here to buy food. Try elsewhere in that aspect. You want a cheap HD t.v. that'll die by next year or the near future, hey this is your place. You want a nice customer service team with a wide range of decent products and employees that have an actual knowlege of their stores? Shop at Target, Cub, or Coborns. read more

I shop at this particular Walmart for so many things, sometimes going there multiple times a day, and they always have what I need. With that being said, I do feel some base level expectations need to be stated when shopping at Walmart. I do not need to be greeted, nor personally checked out. I am perfectly happy to enter the store, get what I need, and check out with as little interaction with employees as possible. What do I expect? I expect the products that I am looking for to be stocked on the shelves and for the carts to be collected from the parking lot and ready for use when I walk through the doors. That's a pretty low bar, I know! So Elk River Walmart, I give you this 5 Star Review with a little request in return....should you have any able bodied employees that can collect carts and return them to the store for my future use, that would be great! Please don't waste your employees' potential by having them stand in the entry to greet me when they could be earning their paycheck collecting carts. The main reason they get two stars is because on a Saturday night at 8pm they have one checkout lane open with ten people with full carts standing in line waiting. This store is the epitome of terrible. It's usually pretty dirty and the shelves are often a mess; especially in the clothing section. It's not uncommon to find merchandise on the floor or see customers running over stuff with their carts. The produce is terribly overpriced not to mention is just thrown everywhere. No interest in displaying or labeling things. Heaven help you if you ask an associate a question. I once asked someone for help and she told me she was on her break! Apparently her talking to other customers while while visibly in uniform does not mean she's working and you're supposed to know the difference. I think the thing that irritates me the most about this store is the fact that they advertise quality at a low price. Any Walmart brand product that I've ever purchased had to be returned because it was not as the package described or it was faulty. I've even had to return a grill that I purchased for camping. After getting to my site and opening the tape sealed box I found that the grill grate was missing! !! When I brought it back they treated me like I was crazy and insisted that all of the pieces were there. I reminded them that I needed something to cook my food on top of so that it wouldn't be sitting directly in the flame. Quietly they refunded me. I drive the distance and go to target. read more

I purchased tires from Walmart about 3 years ago but had only about half the miles used per the warranty when 2 different auto repair shops said they needed to be repaired. I contacted Walmart and they were amazing! They completely replaced my tires and said they wanted to ensure my daughter and I were safe on the roads. Very happy with the customer service. The Worst customer service!!! All I wanted to do was an even exchange on an item I purchased online. It was defective. The customer service cashier was rude and told me I couldn't do an even exchange and all she could offer was a credit on my credit card. I asked if I could repurchase the item and get the price I purchased it for and she said no. I would have to pay the higher price. Then I asked if I could get a gift card instead of the refund on my cc. Still no. I asked why I couldn't do an even exchange and she said they don't exchange items purchased online. And started talking about how online Walmart and their Walmart are two separate stores and not affiliated with each other. What?! I asked how that could be since Walmart has online pick up at their stores...She started arguing with me so I just left with my refund and Walmart lost the sale. It just didn't make any sense. I have been visiting Walmart Supercenter ever since I was a child. Although it has changed a lot in time, I still shop here and receive good items for my purchase. The lines can be a bit long, but I am not picky. Walmart offers some good merchandise which I am interested in, and typically have some foods I love. Always love the smell of bread and other food cooking when entering the store. When I leave the store, I am usually satisfied with my purchases. read more

BRUTAL customer service!!!! 3 different staff did not know where a heating pad was located and none felt the urge to find out for a customer. I approached the pharmacy to just ask the location of heating pads and was RUDELY reprimanded by the person behind the counter. How terrible it is that I wanted to know the location of a product. This store is always so cold you have to wear your coat while you shop. Numerous times I've found their freezer temperatures in more than one freezer above 40 degrees F. Be sure to cook your food thoroughly if you buy frozen food from this store! Store is clean and nice appearing. Staff is friendly and helpful. If it wasn't for the cold store and sporadically warm freezers it would be a really good store. read more

Wanna save money, time, and frustration? Aldi and Target lol. I drive a little further to have a pleasant experience while shopping. I save more at Aldi than I did at Walmart and have never had a bad experience with product or anyone who works there. And we all know target is the classier Walmart yes I may pay a little more for tape but I don't have to wait in an 8 mile line (okay so that's a little exaggeration but we all know how the lines at Walmart can be). If I could I'd give a half star. Every time I go into the store they NEVER have fried chicken. Doesn't matter what day or time there is nothing. Asked the girl behind the counter if she could drop some and she said no because she is the only one there today. Another time there was actually a one 8 piece chicken and I noticed the time was marked 12 pm. There were all kinds of rotisserie chickens marked down later than that. Once again I asked the counter person if she could mark down the one I had looked me in the eye said no! I asked why she said she had no mark down stickers and wasn't her job. I stood there expecting her to offer to call the "markdown" person but no such thing. Was so irritated walked my cart over to an empty register aisle left it there and walked out. read more

I know we are in some crazy times right now and I get people being worried or tired of everything but I was just treated sooooo rude by one of the customer service people when I called. I don't do reviews but I have to just get this one off my chest. I have a severe immune disorder and can't be going out in to these stores so I have been buying everything I possibly can online. The one thing I can't find anywhere is Clorox wipes or anything like them. So I called the Walmart and there's an automated message that says to look for availability online. I went online and looked at the elk river Walmart and it says they have some in stock. So I decided to call again and talk to someone just to make sure because I can not take any chances of going in there for that one thing if they don't really have them. I'm in a very bad position here with my health and immune system. This woman answers the phone and I tell her about my situation and that it says in stock online but I just need to be sure and asked if she could please help me. She said "honey I don't know what's back there and really it isn't my problem" and then hung up on me. I'm just beside my self at that interaction. I can understand not being able to guarantee them being there by the time I got there but she could have at least confirmed if what it says online was true. I don't know what I'm suppose to do in my situation and I know there's a lot of people that are feeling the same way. I just couldn't believe it and will never forget it. I guess Walmart and it's associates are not really about helping the immune deficient or elderly. It's a sad day. read more

I guess if you spend "hundreds of dollars" on produce and it is rotten or moldy, maybe you should learn to look and feel before you buy!! I worked in a produce department (not at Walmart) and hey, a lot of items come in that way and I've also had a garden for many years and hey, a lot of things come out of the ground that way. I called to schedule an eye exam at their vision center because unfortunately it's the only place I could find that accepts my insurance. The lady who answered was like "Walmart." I asked for the optometrist department, she sounded really confused and apparently did not know what that word meant...so finally I said EYE DOCTOR. She puts me on hold and 5 minutes later another person answers and says "Fitting room how may I direct your call?" After being transferred to pretty much every department but the vision center I gave up...I guess I will have to physically go there to make the appointment. read more
