Wal-mart is going thru a remodel. The store isn't dirty, it's just used and in need of the refresh. I appreciate the company spending money to update and refresh this site. The Elko WalMart store is horrible. You'll buy the same stuff for a few weeks, then BAM, suddenly you can't find that product for months, but they have plenty of useless junk, that nobody wants, cramming the shelves. As for prices, what a joke. I've been to the WalMart store in Riverton, Wyoming, the nearest interstate highway is over 120 miles away, yet that store has a better selection and better prices than the Elko store which has I-80 running 300 yards away from it. Don't believe me? Go to the WalMart store in Tooele, Utah, look at the prices there, then check out the store prices in Elko for the exact same stuff, you'll shake your head in wonderment. I rate the Elko Walmart a 1 out of 5 stars and that's because it's the only WalMart within 150 miles. read more

Let me help the others by saying this place stinks. The bathroom sinks don't work so half of the puplic there doesn't wash their hands. I have written a letter to the manager twice and he has not done anything about it. No on there knows anything about the store. I called five days ago to ask about the Recalled Similac baby food large containers that were plastic and the associate in the clothing dept said that they had them. We drove in from Lamoille and they didn't have them! There isn't enough cash registers open for the public, so we have to cram into a self check out aisle or for some idiot behind a reigster to slowly SLOWLY scan items and think about their break and talk to other workers who are doing nothing. No one cares in that store. Its HORRIBLE! read more

If I could give this walmart negative review I would. I get it like everyone else said walmart is walmart. The things that bug me about walmart isn't the filth, the lack of organization, or even the food that makes your butt explode ( which btw sucks and I will never eat there) but the customer service. Ppl here are so rude.. I understand walmart is anyone's dream job and it sucks making minimum wage in a town that is over priced to love but that gives you no excuse to be a total and utter bitch... my daughter got sick and threw up in the trash can.. the self check out lady was busy chatting it up with other ppl and didn't notice.. so when we were leaving I thought I'd give her a heads up so she could have someone take it away. She was so rude about it and so degrading.. next time I'll let my baby puke all over the floor. This isn't the first bitchy person I've had encounters with. It seems if you ask for help or make someone actually do there job they get all bent out of shap! So annoying. . Officially done! I will no longer shop here. I live in Battle mtn. and elko walmart is dirty and no one wants to help you. If you call and see if they have it. They always say YES. And you drive over and its not there... That is bull.But now i head to winnemacca . if you need some thiing go to k-mart. They will help.... :-) read more

I've been a loyal customer of Wal-Mart and spend hundreds of dollars every month at the Elko Wal-Mart. I find that the employees on the day shift are a lot more nicer than the afternoon shift. The last time was there in the afternoon an employee was very rude. She was glaring at me long before I reached the self checkout line. When I got there. She glared at me and in a rude and pointed her arm and finger in a rude and bossy way towards the express lane. I don't shop at Wal-Mart to be treated like a kid in basic training and made to feel like crap. I used to enjoy shopping at this Wal-Mart but now they have lost a very loyal customer. read more

I see so many negatives on this wal-mart, but you will not find a place that is more packed than Wal-Mart. Is it perfect? NO! It is Wal-Mart. It is what you expect. Yeah, shelves are not stocked very well all the time,but this wal-mart cant even get people to work here and stay here, they are ALWAYS hiring new people and never fully staffed. People are usually nice and helpful, we just bought a tv and had a lot of help from associates plus an assistant and comanager. Overall this Wal-Mart is far from perfect, but I do not see it as 1 star, I have seen FAR worse out in Reno and Vegas! read more

I was a loyal customer at the Northtown Reno Walmart.. I get out here.. yuck.. just yuck. The restrooms didn't have locks on the doors and smelled as if they hadn't been cleaned in some time. I had to go to the electronics department and wait a half hour to find someone to help me in the housewares department. No one in automotive could help me with any of the shelves outside of the tire and lube area and when I did get help it was from someone in plumbing. Don't even try and order a cake. The "decorator", if you could call her that, was rude to the customer standing at the counter before me, and ruder still to her co-workers. You've lost a shopper, Elko Wal-Mart. I'll pay the extra cost at Kmart. read more
