A Walmart delivery driver crashed through my garage door yesterday after hitting the accelerator instead of the brake, damaging my car that was parked inside. I have a police report and have reached out to Walmart delivery but have not received a response.The driver took a photo of the damage that now appears in my Walmart account as proof of delivery. I have the driver's information but he could provide no insurance details. I am completely stuck at home because the garage door will not open and my car is trapped inside, which means I now have to find rides to work until this is resolved. This has turned into a major disruption to my life overnight. read more

Typical Walmart The guys who are to collect carts in the parking lot are a very slow moving bunch. No sense of urgency or perhaps just bored of that mundane job. In all fairness, their Meijer (across the street) counterparts are the same. Also, it's not unusual for either someone living in their car or some suspicious activity going on in the back (SW corner) of the parking lot. Can return machines are old and seem to always be dirty. They should be cleaned daily. The deli was actually staffed during my last visit, so a lot of people decided to swarm over there. Two friendly clerks were working, telling the customers they are down to just one slice, so things were moving along at a snails pace. Although the deli meat prices were noticeably cheaper than Meijer, the selection was very limited. After raising the prices on bread....the French loaf was jacked up 48%, they finally brought it back down to $1 a loaf. It's good bread. Produce is cheaper than Meijer, but not as fresh. Walmart's cantaloupe is about 30-40¢ less than Meijer, but it is smaller. Got to watch the lettuce too, sometimes the head is pretty brown. I like fresh green beans, but you can't buy in bulk, you have to buy a prepackaged quantity which for me is more than I need. Meats are priced way too high and the quality is not that good, IMO. They do mark prices down when they are about to expired, you can get a good deal then. They have frozen turkeys there now, priced at .88-1.08. That's a decent deal. The electronics section lacks an attendant from time to time. Watch what brand clothing you buy at Walmart. While the prices are decent and they do carry some nice brands, stay clear of the "George" brand. That attire will shrink down and lose it's color after only a few washes. Pharmacy people are very knowledgeable and helpful, they keep the line moving. Definitely not understaffed in that dept. There's a "clearance" section of marked down/discontinued/seasonal goods. Usually it's a lot of junk you won't need. It's not unusual to find only one cashier open, so that line can be long. But then again the self serve line can get long as well. In both cases I found clerks very cordial. Bathroom was clean. read more

This location consistently offers expired refrigerated and frozen food. Less than three months ago we picked up a few bottles of refrigerated juice that had expired over SIX months prior to that date and had visible coagulated mold, and brought it to the attention of employees stocking nearby. They didn't seem that concerned. This past week, we bought frozen chicken tenders that had an expiration date of three weeks prior. What gives?? Is nobody buying groceries regularly there? Walmart Auto Center is dismal. I ordered 4 new tires and asked them to reinstall the spare tire under the chassis of my caravan. When I was all checked out and got in my vehicle there's the spare tire so I go back into the store to ask why. First the counter person explained they couldn't access because of the things in my front seat (not!!!). When I explain to him that it's actually installed from the exterior, then he changed the story - that the hydrolic lift blocks the ability FOR A TIRE STORE to replace the spare into it's SPOT. WHAT?!? (...I call BS) After pulling out of the place I noticed my tire warning light was on, so I went back five days later and I talked to a different service rep. The vehicle says tire pressure is posted as 36 psi. Every tire was inflated 45 psi!!! The service counter said they were "happy to adjust the tire pressure and have the computer relearn the sensors". Why this didn't happen at installation??? Fortunately THIS TIME, as requested, the technician somehow was able to get at the spare wheel-bay (hmmm???) The third excuse is that the anchor bolt is rusted so they cannot reinstall it. They delivered the car back to me adding that a tire sensor was going bad. When I got back to the vehicle and looked at the paperwork it said that all sensor-relearn was "successfully completed". BACK in the store AGAIN to ask which sensor was "bad" as it was not indicated on the paperwork. No one knew, so I waited around until someone could come out to the vehicle and test every single tire AGAIN. The technician said that the 2 rear pressure sensors were going bad. (at this point who knows what is true) BUT this particular TIRE STORE doesn't have any in stock right now. I thought they were in the business of tire. I call it a FAIL. read more

Walmart Auto Center is criminal. My tire light kept going on, had it checked and they reset the sensor, the second time, the employeee said I had a nail in one tire and damage to the wall of another. I needed 4 new tires although the tread was fine, also 2 sensors with an estimate of over $550. When I brought it back, I was told my tires were fine and that they couldnt fix the sensors!!! Went to Floyd's Tire locally, they said I had a small leak, fixed it for $25 and sensors were fine!!! read more

My wife and I have gone to WalMart Vision Center in Grand Haven for about four years. We both see Alyssa for our optic needs. Recently I developed a significant infection in one eye. Alyssa realized the infection was serious and called a couple of professional eye care organizations in the area. She made an appt for me and later that day i was getting treatment. The timing was crucial. Thanks to Alyssa's quick action my eye infection is now on the mend. Had any more time passed I'm not certain my eye would be healing as well as it is now. read more

Jonathan and team had me wait 40 minutes this morning before telling me they couldn't change the oil on my 2016 Mazda CX-5 because they didn't have the right size torque wrench. How an oil change garage doesn't have the torque wrench for a popular vehicle under 5 years old is baffling. Don't waste your time with incompetent people who don't invest enough in their business to even own the right wrench. read more

Another reviewer said they didn't know why this store got such bad reviews. I know; their level of customer service stinks! I'm in the middle of painting our condo and using this Walmart for paint, mostly because of price. I've made three trips to buy paint and supplies and NEVER found anyone in the paint and hardware department. The first time I had to call the store on my cell phone and ask for help, which came right away. The second time I found a stock clerk wandering around and he was able to help me. The third time, however, took three phone calls to the service desk, four pages over the PA system, and me finally finding a clerk in the tire department to get any help. The whole thing took over 20 minutes, not including the time it took to mix two gallons of paint. I'm being generous with two stars and will probably go to Home Depot the next time. read more

I love this Walmart. I have shopped several of them around this area when we lived closer to Grand Rapids. I hated going into those ones. They seemed to always be messy and crazy busy. I love shopping here. Although there is a Meijer right next door, I prefer this Walmart! I go so often that I really get to know the employees. This place will surprise you. It is a modern Walmart, but it is never crowded (except on Black Friday). On the weekends, Meijer, across the street is packed. This place is like a ghost town. Good thing? Could be, but it is not. The produce dept is a joke. Expiring vegetables, some not in stock. The deli help acts like they don't want to be there. Pharmacy is good though. They have something like 20+ check out lanes, but only 3 are active. The can return machines, recently updated are never emptied and/or cleaned. read more

I don't know why this Walmart has gotten such bad reviews...it's probably the nicest Walmart I've been to in this general region. It's clean, good selection and has a really really nice staff, from what I've experienced. I'm from holland and the Walmart there is so disappointing. I've never once experienced good customer service there and it's no where near as clean and organized as the one in Grand Haven. Maybe these bad reviews come from people who haven't actually experienced a real s**t Walmart. I know of people from out of the area who will come to this exact location for Black Friday or other big sales just because it's so nice. read more

It is a basic Walmart, come on now Walmarts are all the same it is not hard to keep it pretty simple and clean which they do a decent job of. But then I go to check out at the self check out where you think it would be speedy with these new machines they got I get to errors with nobody around to help me for a few minutes, when they come in to help me she looks at me like I'm dumb. She fix that error but then when I paid the machine would not give me my two dollars, repeatedly telling them I'm in a hurry and I would like to get going I asked if I could just take $1.65 pack of Altoid it's for the 280 that the machine owed me and they looked at me like last rabbits that didn't know what to do without a higher up telling them. Come on that is a simple decision I would pay out-of-pocket if there was a problem as an employee. It's only a couple bucks but when you go to Walmart to spend $20 and to save cash that's what you expect to save cash and maybe save time to, which is becoming more and more unrealistic the way businesses are ran. I went to the Grand Haven Walmart on Wednesday morning, 4/2, and was surprised and disgusted with the attitude of the gal supervising the Self Checkout. I realize during this time of turmoil and unrest, we all feel a tad stressed out, but this gal has absolutely no business working with customers. She is rude and downright crabby. I've used the self-checkout many times and the employees are friendly and helpful. Not this babe! I will never use self-checkout when she is supervising. I went to the tire center with my grandson to have a leak fixed in his tires. Some one from the tire department came out and looked at the tires sprayed some soap solution around the valve stems then told us the tires had side wall cracks and they could not fix them. I could possible see the crack he said were there but they were so small and in the tread area they could not be the problem. He then told us we would have to buy new tires. Took the tires somewhere else and they found a nail and a leak at the beads and fixed the problem for my grandson. They tried to rip off an old man and his grandson. read more

I get it likely they are overworked and underpaid but aren't we all? I do appreciate this is the ONLY store in my area that carries fat free cream cheese.
