DO NOT PLACE A DELIVERY ORDER HERE IF YOU WANT TO RECEIVE IT. The delivery from the store is extremely incompetent. I have never once gotten a delivery on time. I ordered something today for a delivery window between 5 and 7 PM. At 6:40 PM I got a text that my order is being delayed. I was never contacted again. I called at 7:30 to try to speak with someone and was told be the automated line that my order was delayed and I could expect delivery on Monday. This was for frozen food. Like most people, I would be at work Monday and could not get this order. When I called to speak with an actual person and they tried to transfer me, the phone rang and rang, and nobody answered it. Terrible service. I canceled the order and now I'm going through the trouble of trying to make sure that I get a refund. read more

On Tuesday, October 29th, I went to the Walmart store to buy groceries and a bottle of Advil because I had a bad toothache. I left the store, came home, and noticed that the bottle of Advil was not in any of my bags. On several occasions, I have left the store without getting all my bags; it was usually my fault. So, I called the store to see if I left the Advil at the registrar. The same cashier who checked me out answered the phone, and she became very defensive and argumentative and said she did not make a mistake. I never accused her of making a mistake; it would have been my fault if I left the bag. I was just calling to see if it was found. She insinuated that I was lying and implied that I just wanted to get a free bottle of Advil. In other words, I had a scheme to drive miles to Walmart to buy dinner and a small bottle of Advil, then drive home. Then I called the store and lied that the Advil was not in my bags. So, I can drive miles back to Walmart for a free $4 bottle of Advil? I was very insulted by this. Then I asked to speak with the manager Nick, whose name is on the receipt. She refused to let me speak to the manager, claiming she was the manager, and her name was Jill. I did not believe her. I called the Walmart corporate office and left word that I wished for the store manager to call me since I was not allowed by 'Jill, the new manager' to talk to him. I was told by the corporate office he would call or email me that day. It is now Thursday and I have never heard from him. Harvard, of course, is a rather small town with the nearest grocery store about 20 minutes away. So, we buy all our groceries here. I visit this store more than 3 to 5 days a week. For our family, I estimate we spend anywhere from $400 to $600 per month at this store just on groceries. That does not even include prescriptions, small appliances and home decor. Not to mention, my daughter owns an eBay and an Etsy store and sells a large amount of dinnerware and home decor. She buys almost all of her boxes, bubble wrap, packing tape, and other items for her business here. I did her taxes last year, and she spent well over $ 3,000 last year at this store alone for her supplies. So, I feel it is inexcusable that the manager Nick cannot take five minutes of his time to call me back. I will be writing a letter to the corporate office today, so maybe they can explain why Nick blew me off. read more

I only go here because it's the closest one to my house but todays visit was horrible. They have maybe three actual cashiers and the rest self check out. They only have one person to check id for alcohol and we had to wait five minutes. Once that was checked more issues kept happening that required an associate that was always three lanes away. The self check out is supposed to be fast. What they should do is make the cashier lanes the only ones that can scan alcohol and the self checkout for regular items. read more

horrible customer service. I placed an order on January 23rd, and it was to be delivered January 24th, between 7am-9am. Well I went to Walmart with my sister, on the 24th, so I figured since I was in the neighborhood, then I can just pick up my order. when I got there, Walmart refused to give me my order. They said it had to be delivered to me since I set up for delivery. Then they tell me my order was cancelled, and I said I did not cancel that order. I purchased an in expensive watch a couple days ago, and noticed it wasn't keeping time. This afternoon I went in to the Walmart in Harvard to exchange it, for one that hopefully did work. The lady at the service counter refused to exchange it without the original box even tho she could have kept the box for the new one.. So I went home dug through two bags of garbage, found the box and returned to the store this evening intending to make other purchases,as well as exchange the watch. Went to the customer service counter at approximately 930 pm. Spoke with the same lady who helped me earlier. She smiled, and said the customer service is closed at 800 pm You'll have to come back again. Wait, The store is open until 1100 pm, but you won't serve your customers after 800 pm if they have an issue? The same lady, obviously capable of walking behind the counter and performing the exchange earlier, instead sends the customer away again, unsatisfied with inoperable merchandise you sold them? After returning to comply with your exchange conditions. Well I tossed the watch in the trash can, said "Have a nice evening" to the smiling ladies and left. An abysmal example of customer service, which cost them not only the purchase of a laptop that I had intended to make, but I will avoid that store like the plague. I disagree with most of the reviews for this store. First, the pharmacy staff are all great! Informed, friendly and helpful. The store is typically not crowded, has what I need and I'm a fan of self-checkout (and there is two areas). Finding staff to help when shopping is challenging but that's the case at all Walmart stores. read more

I know what to expect coming to this walmart...fresh areas and grocery are never stocked appropriately. Overall store is a mess. Prefer to travel to other McHenry Walmarts. Nice cashiers though!! Can't say the same for the rest of the staff. read more

Not all Walmart's are created equal. This Walmart is clean, well stocked, with polite staff. Decided to have a make your own Italian Beef evening and was able to get everything I needed without the drama of most Walmart's. Walmart. I love the story. Proof that capitalism works. God bless America. Having said that. This store is simply a necessary evil for the community. It provides jobs and wares. Service is crap. Checkers are obviously miserable. And in spite of having overnight stockers they are always doing resets during the day as well clogging the isles with pallets. Ridiculous. Never enough checkout lanes open. And God forbid you ask someone about something that's not in "their" department. The blind leading the blind. Stay away unless you can't help it. Most of the time the checkers are pleasant enough but yesterday was a totally different story. The young man, Corey, was more interested in chit-chatting (or trying to) with other employees. His remarks were insulting. Maybe the training should include the words "This is not your playground. We call this work for a reason". This is by far the nastiest Walmart in the Country, and I have been to a lot of Walmarts. Here are my issues with this walmart: 1. The bathrooms have poop all over every seat and toilet paper up to the rim. The water has no pressure and the soap dispensers were absolutely FILTHY! 2. The mozzarella cheese in the cases near the deli were frozen solid. Sorry, but I don't think cheese can be frozen and thawed and still be quality. 3. When I informed the deli lady that the temp might be too low in the case fridge, she stared at me and said nothing. Then when I placed the rock hard moz ball on the counter she shrugged and said "SO" like as in what was she supposed to do about the frozen cheese. 4. I asked an employee if she knew how much the potted plants near the front door were she simply stated "NO" without and offer to find out for me. They lost that sale. Bottom Line: THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE AND THE PLACE IS FILTHY AND I AM SURE BREAKS OSHA REGULATIONS, FOR SURE! WARNING DO NOT GO THERE! read more

Having been proudly and excitedly in one week's possession of a product nationally advertised as a product "Not to be Found In Stores", finding that it could POSSIBLY be in a store, and ultimately relegated to only being in Harvard...TODAY...NOW, I took my new (to me) car on its first 'long' drive to 21101 Mcguire Rd. Walking in, my text message said 'shipment has been delayed'. The thoughts that 'this can't be happening' raced through my mind...how to play this off! No need tho...the Service Center Mgr., Asst. Mgr., and a really nice service person provided high dramatic obstacles to overcome IF...and it was a BIG IF, I walked out with what I staked claim to. In the end, the way it happened...mutual trust that I had bought and paid high hopes, and that they were bound and determined not to have my hopes dashed, and they made a way for that to happen. So after one week, I know why my NutriBullet is going to change my life because it is already changing my health. I can only HOPE that others know after such a short time too. Had to give it one star even though they didn't deserve it! Had a party for my daughter recently. Had my daughter order the cake, she said they kept insisting on a much smaller cake then we wanted. What kind of business does that?? Sure enough when we picked it up it was way smaller then we asked for. Wound up having to get another cake from another store and had two. Thanks to Harvard Walmart for screwing that up! Also ordered ahead of time was 36 balloons. They made me purchase the balloons from the store first and bring them to the back of the store. Made up the order for them to have them blown up and asked for black ribbons to be tied to them and ready to be picked up the next day. Well, when we got there we seen the balloons waiting for us. They were behind the counter. Not tied with black ribbon,, but with White? Hmmm. Also they appeared to not have been fully blown up! Some of them were already falling as though they were a week old or so... Then ALSO, they didn't even have the 36 that we already paid for, they only had 34... They told us that 2 of the balloons that we purchased from them were bad! WHAT? REALLY? When we asked if they could fill them up properly and replace the ones that were missing and also replace the ones that were dead just hanging down they refused and finally just decided to refund us 3$? Lazy as hell! How difficult would it have been to properly fill these balloons. Evidently too difficult for Walmart! REALLY, they don't even deserve the one star!!! read more

What a joke of a store. No one in the vision center processes orders! Week goes by that they sat with a insurance replacement because the new manager didn't know how to handle it?? Don't call their customers to let them know either. Store never has selection of items as others in the area. Store is always a mess with an over abundance of clearance.
