I don't mind going to Walmart for groceries, but today I went to buy a new laptop and it was a terrible experience. The girl that was working in the electronics department was possibly the laziest person I have ever seen working in a store. I told her that I had some questions about buying a laptop and she told me that she couldn't help me, that we had to wait 30 minutes for someone else to come back because she usually worked in customer service, she was just temporarily working in the electronics department. So we left and went to office depot, which they weren't much better, but they were at least willing to go look and see if they had the computer I wanted in stock, which they did not. I went back to Walmart because it had been about 30 minutes. I tell the same girl "I know which laptop I want can you get it for me. She goes "no I can't, I don't know where they are, you're going to have to wait until the other girl comes back. Hopefully it will be in the next 5 minutes." So I walked over to the customer service desk and tell them I'm trying to buy a laptop and the customer service guy walks over to the electronics and talks to the girl and comes back and tells me "She's over there, she said she has been there the whole time." So I told him that she told me she couldn't sell me a computer. And the girl goes "they're locked up somewhere and I don't know where ". The guy goes and grabs a set of keys and says "which one did you want because they are all locked up right here. They were literally right next to where she was standing. I showed him which one I wanted and he starts looking through the computers that were locked up and the girl comes by and is like "see there is no way to know which one it is without her (talking about the girl that she had told us we had to wait on, which tells me that she knew where they were the whole time she just didn't feel like looking through them. The guy ended up finding it after about 30 minutes of looking for it. There were 2 laptops sitting on top of the box they were all locked up in. He hands us one that is all crushed on the front of it, so I told him, "that box is all beat up" so he grabbed the other one and was like well I can sell you this one and he gave me the other laptop that was next to the first one he tried to sell me. It wasn't the worst experience that I have ever had, but the girl was probably the laziest person I've ever seen working at a store. She absolutely was not going to do anything other than ring someone up at the cash register. I thought it was pretty annoying that as a customer I was like hey I've got $800 and I would like to give it to you to buy a laptop and I had to go to two employees first before I could find somebody to let me make my purchase. And then when we did he tried to sell me one with a box that had clearly been dropped or crushed and might have been damaged. read more

As with most Walmarts, generally speaking, they had everything I needed for my camping trip at nearby Huntsville State Park. In and out, all without so much as a snag. The only drawback is having never shopped here before. I had to quickly learn where everything was. If that's my only complaint, life is good. read more

They have this neat little button at the cologne section where you press it and it sends a message to an associate to come unlock the door for you to get a cologne/perfume. The catch is the button lights up to make you feel like you're actually reaching an associate when in reality nobody is listening to wherever the message is sent to and you're stuck trying to find an associate and everyone points you to someone else who conveniently also doesn't have the key or care. read more

I guess it's time to become one of those people who dumps on Walmart. They recently reduced the size of many of their aisles, which made for an extremely frustrating experience. The aisles are now less than two shopping carts in width, so people get jammed up and cannot get out of the aisle. It was annoying, and it shows the disconnection between the company and their customers. Original: It seems like people are going to dump on Walmart no matter what. When I shop at this Walmart, I am rarely in the store for more than an hour. It is rarely packed, the employees behind the register are generally efficient, and the store is clean. It is rare that I leave the store with a defective product. I am not a person who wants to have a long conversation with anyone while shopping, so the polite greeting from the cashier is good enough for me. Finally, Walmart is cheaper than anywhere else in town. I spend a lot more when shopping at HEB or Brookshire Brothers. read more

I came here for an oil chnge and a battery replacement and it took 3 hours. The girl at the fron desk didn't have sense enough to tell me that my car was ready. They young lady on the outside who input my information in happened to walk inside and told me once she saw me. They are doing a poor job on customer service. I understand being understaffed but at least tell me when my car is ready and hot have me sitting for an extra 20-30 minutes. If it wasnt for the battery warranty, I wouldn't have come here. read more

Summary: * Illogical substitutions * Unorganized and understaffed pickup section * No "missing item" option for certain refund items * Lengthy hold times * Complicated return process that should've been simple * It's obvious that staff feels exhausted and wants me to wait till the next day so someone else will have to handle my order problems I had placed a large online order 2 days ago to be picked up in the afternoon yesterday. There was a specific substitution that bothered me, they had subbed out my concealer for a different shade instead of using a very similar shade in a different brand. I had asked for it to be pushed back an hour and was told that's perfectly fine. Upon arrival, they let me know they had lost half of my order, gave me the other half, then let me know that it should all be in there. My bad for not checking, because when I got home I noticed 19 of the 65 items in my order were still missing. I called back, listed all the items I didn't receive, and came back in the evening to pick up the other part of my order. The only 2 employees started loading everything into the trunk out of a basket they said had my name on it. When I got out to check, it was someone else's order. They reloaded it back into the cart, I re-listed the items I was missing, and decided to come back the next day to pick up the rest of my order because the pickup section was obviously understaffed and tired. Multiple calls to the pickup section throughout the next day were left unanswered and I ended up shopping my items elsewhere and initiated a refund for my missing items. Another couple calls to pickup were left unanswered, I called another section to be transferred to the customer service line, they suggested I come in the next day to which I suggested we complete the return now, and they walked me through the refund process. 2 of my items did not have the option to list them as missing, I could only select that they had missing parts and specify in the comments that the items were completely missing. I was then prompted that I had to return the 2 items that I wanted the refund for, and you can see how that's problematic because I didn't get them in the first place. I had to contact customer service again, at which point they explained I needed to contact corporate to get my measly $14 return for my final 2 missing items. The hold time was longer than the actual conversation at 20 minutes which is no one's fault, but irritating to deal with when I've been having problems with Walmart for over 2 days for my order. Maria from corporate was extremely helpful and understanding, yet the consecutive problems have unfortunately overshadowed that. The draw of pickup is the simplicity of adding items to a list, showing up, and having it put in your car as opposed to going inside and spending 2 hours wandering around and doing a scavenger hunt of everything you need. If I had known that my order would take 2 days to resolve, I simply would've went into the store to buy them. I realize that the entirety of my purchases at Walmart throughout my whole life is a drop in a bucket compared to what the brand makes in a single day, yet I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I will give Walmart Hunstville a 0 Star but there is not option so I am giving them 1 Star. CURBSIDE: HORRIBLE SERVICE. I placed the order at 9am today 2/13/2021. Spoke with one of the lady's over the phone and she confirmed that my order will be ready between 7 pm-8pm. I received a text stating my order wasn't ready @ 7 pm and they will let me know , guess what 9pm and haven't received any text message . I called the 1800 number and waited for 30 minutes until a customer representative answer, with the bad news that Walmart closed at 8pm and I had to wait until tomorrow and they already charged the amount for the groceries and I haven't received anything. This is my first and last time that I order thru Walmart I am going back to HEB . DON'T BUY AT WALMART HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

My biggest disappointment is the lack of hand baskets at this location, i think they've done away with them all together. i'm not feeding a family of five so i don't need a shopping cart the size of the titanic so i end up carrying the few items i do have and i can't buy anymore. For a Walmart in a college town it is very neat. I always get asked for help but ( not in an annoying way where you feel like people follow you but in an actual helpful way ). I'm not sure why the rating is so low. Sometimes things can be messy but I mean it's Wal-Mart and so many people go there and wreck the place looking for things. I've seen employees try to keep it clean and organized but there's only so many things you can do especially when school starts back up. I only have a for out of five because the self check out on the left are closed a lot but they have some on the other side so it cool you just have to walk. All I'm saying is it's a Walmart not a castle people expect to much and this one is a lot better than others I've been to. Nice employees, clean bathrooms, and mostly organized. Oh and I saw someone saw something about the isles, they are narrower than others but just don't be rude and take up the whole isle. As Wal-Marts go, this one is really nothing out of the ordinary. Huge flocks of birds in the parking lot squawking? Check. Crowds at any time of the day or night? Check. Supreme people watching? Check, check, check. Wal-Mart, of course, is busy no matter where you are. I think that this one may even be a tad busier, due to the fact that Huntsville is a college town and there are not a lot of shopping options unless you drive to Conroe or Bryan. This Wal-Mart isn't super clean, but it isn't the worst I have ever seen, either. We do try to only step foot in here if we need something very cheap or cannot find it anywhere else. This place is kind of our last resort, but for last resort options, it isn't horrible. read more

Not sure why there is a new page for Wal-mart. Nothing has changed in the store. It's still the same Walmart with the same problems as before. I'm wondering if they just didn't like the fact that their previous yelp page had them at 2 stars. Nothing has changed, despite being "renovated". In fact if anything, it is worse. My new pet peeve for them is that they are really bad about making sure there is a price tag on the shelves, and they don't have any of the price checkers. Sure, they have signs for them all over the store, "Check your price here", but there is just an empty bracket and and a plug where the checker should be. Once a real grocery store opens here, I probably won't be back. Target, Academy and Home depot already carry most everything I need. Check out Walmart's old listing on yelp. It's still valid. Two stars because they usually have what I need. But after Sam died the company lost its vision on what customer service should be. The employees walk by without acknowledging your existence and never ask you if you need any help. They rarely have enough registers open and if your lucky the cashier acknowledges your presence. The store is cluttered and hard to navigate. We started going to other stores for groceries and other items. Walmart has become another "big box" store and this will hurt them sooner or later. read more

This is the worst customer service experience I have ever witnessed. My husband has been trying since last Thursday to refill his diabetic supplies. At first Walmart could not get the quantity right. First they showed testing twice daily (wrong), then they said it was showing 4X daily (still wrong), then later it showed 2X daily (unbelievable)...especially since the doctors office had submitted it as 6X daily. And now it's the following Tuesday. Now today Walmart is saying they don't have any inventory for their Relion blood glucose lancets and DON'T KNOW when they will be in stock. He just spoke with the Pharmacy Manager who told him he could drive to another location (2-3 hour trip) and get some. No offer by them to find some and get them for him, no offer by them for another brand that would work, NO ASSISTANCE of any kind whatsoever. This by far the worst pharmacy management I have ever seen. read more

Years ago, when scouting colleges, I was impressed with the friendliness of the people at and in this Walmart. I'm also a supporter of Walmart because I like cheap prices. Last week however, I was buying three items and reloading a gift card (a collectible Walmart gift card I got as a gift from my father, which I have been using for fuel for years. Since I use it so much, I always keep a "safe" amount of money on the card for road trips. I load it with a large even amount of money, fill what my car can handle, and reload more even with the remaining balance on it.) I placed my items and my gift card on the conveyer belt and the cashier rolled the belt: the card went with and fell into the abyss of the conveyer belt. I told her that was my favorite card and there was some money on it though I was unsure how much. She, about my age, said she couldn't find it and gave me a new card. I went home and thought about it, and came to the conclusion that that was not enough service for what had just happened. I went in the next day and spoke to Kathy, a CSM. In my opinion, she thought my issue was trivial, and I could audibly hear her mocking the fact that this was a sentimental gift card. Nevertheless, we went to the register and took it apart to see if the card had fallen through. To no avail, she took my number down for the accountant in the back, who had gone home for the day. She said they would call me back the next day. Despite the fact that they took apart the register, I didn't feel satisfied with the attitudes while handling it. I also, never received a phone call, and that upset me further. I returned today and spoke to Paul, another CSM I believe. He was very courteous and understood my issue with the sentimental part of it all. They took another look in the register and still found nothing, though Cyndi and Monica and the other CSMs (different CSMs from the first time) around were all very friendly this time. When they found nothing, Paul understood both parties were at fault for the incident and I understood that, and we settled on a Customer Satisfaction refund, and well as keeping my number on file in case they ever found the card. I was very appreciative of the effort and attitude put into my issue. read more
