I used to really enjoy shopping at the goodwill, but a few years ago they moved everything around and it has been so hard for me to find anything that I am looking for anymore. Everything seems to just be mixed up together and you have to go through the entire store to find things that should all be in one section which makes for a very frustrating and time consuming shopping experience. I do still enjoy shopping here, but I don't find very much that I want to buy anymore because of the way everything is so disorganized. read more

I make a comfortable living, so why do I shop regularly at charity stores and thrift shops? I suppose I just enjoy searching for the occasional peppercorn in a manure heap of tobacco-scented alarm clock radios and polka vinyl records. Whenever I visit a new town, I bookmark the local Goodwill and embark on a treasure hunt. How did I make out at this location in Huntsville, TX? Did I leave with a bag full of cool rarities (first editions, complete-in-box NES games), or did I bring home a urine-stained wheelchair and a used box of Depends? This Goodwill is average in size and includes a little of everything you'd expect: clothing, small kitchen appliances, toys, electronics (mostly outdated stuff like tube TV's and DVD players), and a small but respectable media section. Everything is well organized, and the aisles are clear of clutter. Now that I've covered the mundane aspects, I can focus on the fun stuff. I left with two God-awful (more like Satan-awful) Wii games ($2.99 each) and a pristine CD copy of a Mozart concerto for $.99. I considered picking up the urine-stained wheelchair and used box of Depends (see attached pics), but I'll leave those behind for a fellow enthusiast. If you go Goodwill hunting (not the Matt Damon movie) regularly, then you've no doubt struck up a conversation with your treasure hunting brethren; Goodwillers just love to share their scores with likeminded folks. On this occasion, an older gentleman noticed my enthusiasm for VHS tapes and asked for recommendations, a mistake given my droll sense of humor. He ended up walking away with "Bela Lugosi Meets a Brooklyn Gorilla." On a final note, the staff here are super friendly and love engaging with customers. I've found this to be the case at every Goodwill I've visited. When the cashier rang up my purchases yesterday, she cited several of her favorite Wii games and asked if I was a collector. As an avid thrifter, I couldn't pass up an opportunity at the local Goodwill. Even though the book and clothing sections were well stocked, I unfortunately didn't find anything that had to be purchased. Of course ill visit again if ever in the area. read more

I enjoy this Goodwill a lot and check it out at least once a month... everything is priced right and you can find almost anything. Great place for kids that aren't picky, mine have become experts at digging through things and finding new treasures. Definitely worth checking out again and again!! read more

Horrible store, don't go to the Huntsville goodwill, the clothes look like they picked the crap ones out and took the nice ones somewhere else. Everything is dirty, saw roaches, and it really smells in there. read more

I really enjoy Goodwill stores and I like this location - it's pretty organized and I never leave there without anything. However about 6 months ago, I bought some things and I later realized that 2 of my items didn't make it in the bag. I called and was told I needed to talk to the manager the next day. Let me preface this with the fact I realize that 2 camisoles @ $5.99 (pricy in my book for resale) isn't going to kill me but it was the point. I called the next day and you would have thought I was asking for a bar of gold. I had the receipt to show them paid for, still no help and no resolve. This left me with a bitter taste in my mouth yet I live close by and continued to go. I think what Goodwill does is awesome and I obviously support it - but these things are DONATED, they aren't paid for by Goodwill and they essentially called me a liar because I couldn't prove they weren't put in my bag. I'm not in the habit of stealing which is what they implied, so that's been my gripe - I didn't put a review up because I didn't want to tarnish them. UNTIL, I went in there last week and they now have a whole section for "higher end pieces" and they charge whatever they feel. I don't understand how they can do that? They're the only location I've ever seen that does this. That's the whole point in going there - finding things at a great price. Every category should be priced across the board. For example they had a Free People dress that they priced at $48 - I can get that on FP's website for the same price. Yet they had all sort of designer things that hadn't made that section - it makes no sense. I'm glad the money goes to those in need but it's not theirs to jack the price up. I'm here all the time, mostly to grab LARP equipment (cool looking garb, mugs/tankards, trinkets here and there) that I can sell to others. There's always a good selection of whatever you need. Unless that thing you need is a vest. Surprisingly small selection of men's vests. read more
