What a difference nice flooring makes! The shopping area has beautiful hardwood, wide plank floors. Somehow it seems the lighting in this store is different too. As soon as I entered the store I could tell this would be a pleasant shopping experience period. I was on the hunt for a waffle maker that my daughter had purchased. Went here today with my 11 year old sister. Parking was a shit show due to all the carts in the middle of the roads. While walking in a car almost hits us. Then we shop, get to check out and everything that said was marked down was original price. The employee took my items off and took them away without checking the price or anything. This is a good place to avoid if you are concerned about the Delta Variant. Though signs are posted, no one enforces the mask mandate and I've even seen employees with masks on their chins. In addition to the lax Covid enforcement, they are routinely out of many, many items. I haven't seen these shortages in Pendleton, Ontario or College Place. Some things have been in short supply for months. We live in the area and there are 3 grocery stores in town and two of them don't seem to care about the health and safety of their customers. Walmart gets a bad rap but from my experience as a very self sufficient courteous person I've not had any issues with Walmart. They've made it even simpler to shop with the app which has price scanner and aisle locations. Also self checkout is large and easy and that is for our benefit and some people just need to buck up and learn use them (so easy) so they don't have to complain about standing in line so long. read more

one of the workers was wearing a mask and gloves, which is absolutely not a problem. but when she is rubbing her eyes and touching her face and not changing gloves, regardless if you're sick or not, is counterproductive. while you might be helping protect yourself you're making things extra dirty. and on top of that her refusing to give us a bag which i'm sure we pay for, she smooshed our tomatoes and avocados, while trying to tell us the bag is light enough and should be fine but when i get to my car it's not. not to mention the manager Tanya (or Tonya) i'm not sure which way she spelled it, gave a half assed excuse instead of actually doing something. she said in consolation that the employee is not sick, but that's not the point and she also said would check cameras but for what? if you aren't gonna say anything to her then what is the point of you looking at cameras. if you're going to do a job, do it right. this was an embarrassment of this place. i'd give it 0 stars if i could. read more

So's if I could rate this joint less than one star I would. A minus star would be a better choice for this particular store. Twice now I was check'in out with pharmacy items. Both times the price on the shelf was like under six bucks. The first time a few months back I gets outside and realized they charged me 20 bucks for a 6 buck item. Went back in to listen to some ol' rock n roll about the why and what for and they refunded my money and charged me the right amount. I was told if someone else came along they would get charged 20 bucks as the clerk could not set the proper barcodes. All this took up my time. Last week, same game, different players. Only this time they explained it was a different item misplaced on the shelf and they could not sell it to me for some reason. The assistant manager, some broad named Lexi was grinning and flippant about the whole deal. She said I'd hear from the manager, I didn't. No surprises there. I just ordered it from Amazon and saved time and money. Another time I bought a picture frame marked with the size on it. When I went to use it, didn't fit. I measured it, it was another size than what was on the label. Took it back next time I was in town, gave it to Customer Service. Told them the deal, they refunded my money, next time I was in, there it was, poorly re wrapped and back on the shelf for someone else to waste their time with due to it being falsely advertised. WATCH EVERYTHING YOU ARE CHARGED in this store when you check out, pay attention to what you are buying and COUNT YOUR CHANGE. The clerks inform me they don't have to be able to do that to work here. Trust me, they can't. The majority of the employees I've run into are good folks. But this sort of treatment along with one often broken down check stand open at night, backed up and slow is indicative of pitiful management and horrible managers like the one I encountered. Be vocal, don't be preyed upon! Complain to Wal Mart Corporate Headquarters not the store where your complaint is a dead end. read more

Dusty in the bakery is phenomenal. She really worked with me on my cake and cupcake design. She designed them perfectly and they were better than I could have imagined. Everyone loved them at my wedding. You could tell she genuinely wanted my order to be perfect for my big day. I would hire her in a heart beat. read more

First of all, this is WalMart. That should be 'nuf said. We stopped in for some WalMart type stuff for our RV trailer. Everyone knows this is an RV'ers heaven. Whatever you need to keep you and your RV on the road is probably right here at Wally World. Got some Crazy Glue, some snacks, and a Pepsi. Problems solved (with the Crazy Glue, of course) and we were on our way. Wal Mart is Wal Mart. What else can you say, although I must say, the employees at this particular store were all super friendly, like they actually enjoyed their jobs. What a concept! read more

I'm very disappointed in our store here in La Grande Or. The workers are great, but I know how retail works, and this one is failing. I've had to start going to Safeway, and spend way more money than I have because the shelves in Wal-Mart are empty a good portion of the time. I've talked to several employees in the store, and they tell me the ordering is computerized from a different location. Why can't there be heavier ordering done at the first of each month when a lot of people get their WIC vouchers and their foodstamps? I'm not on any assistance, and are lucky enough to have money to spend on groceries, so when I go, and am met with empty shelves, I get a little excited. Do the people that do the ordering not understand supply and demand? Very disappointing to go to various stores on one shopping trip. Kay D. read more
