    Harry Potter theme birthday cake

Ordered a specialty cake for my daughter's birthday. It turned out fantastic. Delicious too. Very impressed with their bakery staff and cakes. I have ordered from them before and will again. My daughter was thrilled and her friends thought the cake was really cool. Thank you again!

I am 65 and by golly I earned it! It is too much fun going thrifting because you never know what you will find. The prices are always good in my opinion, definitely better than Goodwill but on this day anything with a red barb was 1.49 with 50% off, yep you read that right, I got clothes for 75 cents! We were in the store several hours and also went to the next parking lot to also shop their home decor, vases, furniture, toys and the like as they bought an old big lots and turned it into this part of their business. I purchased clothes, jewelry, shoes, and purses on this day. I also had a great time with my girlfriend combing through all of the goods and she found a lot of great items also including clothes, home decor, vases, and things for her garden. I will definitely be stopping back in this thrift to see what other great finds we come up with.

Recently they purchased another building and split the store into two sections, keeping home goods in one building and clothing in the other. At first that sounded like a wonderful idea, and I was excited to see how it would turn out. Unfortunately, the expansion hasn't quite had the effect I hoped for. While the space is larger now, it almost feels like it just created more space for junk. When everything was in one building, it felt like there were more hidden gems to uncover. Now it often feels pretty picked over, and a lot of what's left is broken items and random stuff. That said, the store does have a lot of variety. There are clearly organized sections with plenty to browse. The holiday area is huge, with large Christmas, Halloween, and Thanksgiving sections. There's also a big selection of wall art and picture frames, plus a dedicated kitchen section. You'll also find furniture, lamps, vases, technology items and cords, board games, and plenty of children's toys. I was also really unimpressed with the pricing. Some very basic items were priced at over $20 even though they clearly didn't have much value. These definitely weren't the fun thrift store prices you hope to find when you're treasure hunting. It felt more like retail pricing on secondhand items, which kind of takes away the excitement of thrifting. Unfortunately, the prices alone make this feel like one of the more expensive thrift stores rather than one of the good bargain spots. One thing that hasn't changed is how busy it is. The store is almost always packed, which shows it's still a popular spot. I just can't help feeling a little nostalgic for how it used to be when everything was together and it felt easier to stumble upon something special. Lately, I haven't had much luck finding anything good here, but it's still worth a stop if you enjoy browsing.

I stopped by Downtown Girl just as Ute (pronounced oo-tah, she's German) and her husband Tom were closing up. I told them my story and they insisted I come in for some shopping. With a flip of the switch, the lights were on and music was playing. Downtown Girl carries all sorts of accessories for the feminine urbanite: from Fleur-de-Lis necklaces to soft, furry scarves, bright handbags, and intricate jewelery. If you're looking for a statement fashion piece, you will find it here. Everything sold in Downtown Girl is hand-selected by Ute. You'll definitely be getting a one-of-a-kind accessory and for a very reasonable price. I purchased several glass nailfiles as gifts for my best girlfriends. Ute provided wrapping for each individual item, complete with bright violet tissue paper, a filigree gift bag, and a sticker with her shop's logo. All my gifting needs were cared for under one roof. Downtown Girl has been in Montgomery for the past seven years. Recently, Ute expanded to the building next door, creating a sister shop: Uptown Girl, which carries clothing and posh accessories. http://www.yelp.com/biz/utes-uptown-girl-cincinnati Both Ute and Tom were the most friendly, genuine store owners. They even walked me to my car after locking up the store (again) to make sure I was safe. Now that's compassionate service!

The colors are muted, the apparel is understated and the jewelry looks more organic with lots of beads, natural stone and ceramic pieces. It's much more Serena than Blair. This is exactly the place where you will find those effortless and chic looks. I'd head back in here before sweater season officially arrives to find some truly unique items.

Once in there I was pleasantly surprised by the few things that I may have wanted to purchase. Unfortunately, the staff manages not to greet you nor do they ask if they can be of any assistance, therefore I walked out . Did not expect that from a small town boutique and size store. Unlike the last reviewer, I had a fabulous experience! The sales girl (not the owner, I didn't meet her) was very pleasant and helpful. I was attempting to shop for Christmas gifts and asked her to try on a couple of items for me, as she was a similar build to my sister-in-law. She was more than accommodating. She also told me all about the designer, and that her studio was in the basement so most everything in her line was made on the premises. There were also several other clothing lines from small, independent designers from other areas of the country, like NY and Chicago, so everything was unique and many of the items were handmade. The store carried a range of sizes, and because the clothes are of designer quality they run true to size. Anyone from a size 0 to a size12 or 14 shouldn't have any trouble finding interesting, fashion-forward pieces that fit them. They do only purchase a few pieces of everything, so stock is limited, but I think it's nice to know you won't run into anyone else wearing the same outfit. And did I mention the prices? I expected to see $200, $300, $400 price tags but was pleasantly surprised. Now, I'm not saying theses are Walmart prices or anything, but for what you're getting, the prices were great. Many items were under $100. I looked at a Chanel inspired cropped jacket and expected to see at least $300 on the price tag and it was under $68! I also fell in love with the hand painted Picasso silk tops. I can't remember the price exactly but they were under $150, which is a great value. Amy Kirchen carries everything a girl needs to look her best (except shoes...and makeup...some of us need that too) including coats, dresses, sweaters and tops, pants and skirts, beautiful hand painted and felted scarves, one of a kind clutches and purses (leather and vegan materials), and gorgeous, statement-making jewelry. In my opinion, Amy is bringing high fashion to Cincinnati the right way - by keeping it small, independent, and affordable. I will definitely be making the (35 minute) trip out to Milford to shop in her boutique and would recommend it to everyone I know.
