Given it's great location and proximity to the beach this Wal-Mart can be a true lifesaver, especially if you forgot to pack something. We were in need of water, juice and a few other things so we made our way to this location as it was only 3 miles from our resort. There was plenty of parking and once inside the store was spotless. Easily one of the cleanest Wal-Mart's I have ever been in. Every shelf we came across was fully stock as well. Due to our daughters sensitive skin she only uses a certain type of body wash and lotion, both were at least $6 to $8 cheaper here than back home. This Wal-Mart is definitely geared towards the beach as they have an entire aisle just for sun block and sunscreen. They also had a ton of different beach chairs and coolers to keep drinks cold. One thing this Wal-Mart had that I had never seen before was a alcohol section with beer, coolers and wine. Just what you need to start your vacation off right! When it was time to check out a few of the associates were in front of their checkout aisles to let the customers know that they were available. I hardly ever see that back home. If I could give zero stars... Anyway, they had what I needed thanks to the Walmart App I was able to locate it, but no thanks to the staff. So 1 Star is ok. No one was friendly and they treated my family and Myself like we were there to steal. I am not sure if we looked like young black folks up to no good but we were carefree out with the kids giving Walmart some of our vacation $$$. We came up for NYE and needed a few items for food fill-Ins . We spent $120 for a couple Day excursion. We probably appeared to grab random Items due to the limited heating and cooling capabilities we had and the pickiness of the kids. Either way I cannot see any reason we were treated this way. We felt highly uncomfortable. If my family and I would have talked about it before we checked out they would not have gotten this money. I've never really understood the Walmart hate that seems to be pervasive no matter where you go in the country. Everybody despises the store, yet for some strange reason they are almost universally crowded. Only the "dregs of society" shop there, yet we all seem to know the layout and have been there enough to form an opinion. Here's the deal on this Walmart. It is in a very touristy area, so it is full of...tourists. Shocking, right? Plenty of reviews say how filthy it is. Can someone provide me real evidence of filth? The floors were clean and the shelves were clean. Was the store a bit disorganized? It is bike week and the store is packed. Find me any store that does the volume that this store does where every item is fronted and faced beautifully at all times. It is borderline childish to expect anything different. Walmart is the number one retailer in the country because they offer a huge selection of products at reasonable prices. This Walmart is no different. Oh, and I was through the checkout line in 5 minutes. They had a ton of registers open. One 5-star review may do little to stem the tide of bias filled low reviews, but all I can do is give my honest opinion. read more

I've come in a few times for some things that I needed. I guess it's handy because it's on seaboard street.. So it's the center of almost all the tourist attractions. But it is always packed, very difficult to push a cart around. It always appears to be dirty - The floors could use some sweeping up, it would definitely help with the appearance. If you can find another Walmart location around, I suggest going there instead. Otherwise plan to extend your Walmart visit, if you run into this particular one. It's Walmart....of course it's a zoo! Good prices, they carry many "Myrtle Beach" embossed items of course at very low prices so if you have someone you HAVE TO grab a souvenir from come here for a $4 t shirt. Last minute items like buckets, shovels, etc at good prices... It's a Super center so there's full grocery store and a good selection of beer and wine too, not just the standard. I type this from a 19,876 person line though, hence the 3 stars. Knowing it's the only Wally World in a huge tourist area you'd think they'd have more than 5 registers open. Lines rival Disney World. Bring your patience. Update: it's been 30 minutes now. I am becoming disoriented, concerned about my blood sugar levels. Starting to possibly see things...my palms are sweaty, vision blurry. Very well stocked but staff was rude and some conservative views were on display here in both staff and clientele. If you are different in any way but prepared to be stared at. EDIT: Day 2 DO NOT BUY A PHONE HERE. Dropped mine in the water and so went searching for a replacement. The salesman told me the type of phone I had was no longer made (it is) and that Net 10 phones do not exist (they do) and could thus not be purchased (they can). I googled both acts on my partners phone and showed the guy. He still insisted I was wrong. Also he told me that it is illegal to transfer my phone number to a new service. (It's not.) I thought the walmart back home was bad but if satan had his very own walmart this would be the one. Everything I came for was either out of stock or someone had ripped the last box open. When I finally got up to line there was 5 lines open and 20 people in each line. This is at 9pm at night!! When I finally got to the front (30 minutes later) the lady told me my ID wasn't from South Carolina and so she couldn't sell me beer or Tobacco! (I am 24 by the way) Totally didn't understand that one. Left my cart in line refusing to give then service. The only positive thing about my experience was the older guys working back in the electronic section who were very kind and cheerful. These guys need a pay raise. read more

Appears this store makes no attempt to keep people safe. Appears 80-90% of customers do not wear masks and probably know store doesn't even attempt to ask people. Do not shop here if you are concerned about safety. Also appeared one manager was walking around without one. read more

If I could give it zero stars, I would. I'm not sure if all of the unacceptable behavior was from locals or visitors, but there were (what felt like) millions of children running around everywhere. An employee had to get on the speaker and say no bouncing balls or riding on skateboards in the store. It was truly like a jungle featuring humans! The worst experience I ever had in customer service. I am a front desk manager at the big hotel chain at I was in shock that Walmart employees have no customer service skills. I bought an item in Walmart.com. It was damaged. I brought it to the store. The only thing I asked it was to help me return that. The only thing I heard was .. we can not help you and it is nothing we can do because I bought it through 3rd party. Ok I am a customer and I went to Walmart.com because I trusted Walmart. I understand I should not bring that item to the store but I side I wasn't aware that it is different because I bought it on line. Customer service was so poor I still can't believe that. Went to this location after Target was out of something we needed. It was in the evening and dark outside. We got gas at the gas station right on the property. We were approached by a shady looking individual asking for money. We parked at Walmart and as soon as we got out of our truck, we were approached again by a different female. I hope the local law enforcement does a better job patrolling this area, as we are staying at the beach, and this was one of the closer grocery stores. read more

Due to massive beach traffic (hello it's Myrtle Beach) it's always always busy...we're talking every lane is 20-25 carts deep. Oh, did I mention there are only about 7 lanes open? After checking into are hotel, we need somethings so we wanted to stop at Walmart. The main reason we came here was I forgot my cell phone house charger at home and needed a adapter to plug in a car charger. We found what we were looking for at a good price. We also found the other thing we needed like sunscreen and some food and drinks. The check out did take long but the cashier wasn't rude of anything. Overall this Walmart wasn't bad or anything. The worst Walmart I've been to and I've seen other poor ones. Dirty, a lot of empty shelves, and check out lines to infinity. Cashier systems were failing as card payments could not be processed. We were switched to a different station and the belt would not work to bring items forward. And, in leaving, an employee wanted to review our receipt! Avoid! read more
