The most disrespectful Walmart experience. Old white last at front stopped us on the way out. It may have been her attitude or may have been how she was trained : either way ..We literally had 6 items and had just stood in line 20 minutes just to pay because I had already done scan and go . Because we had a 12 pack of soda not bagged not only did she make me open my full digital receipt physically she had to look at every damn item. Literally $40 worth of stuff . If I was going to walk out the door with it I wouldn't have spent damn 20 minutes in line. I've been stoped to show my receipt paper or digital before and not throughly examined and this is with every sized order . Hell even Sam's doesn't do the most like thus and have had scan and go way longer than WM.Walmart open your checkouts up if you are going to run down your customers down to examine their purchases . Thankfully I was just visiting here . The rest of the employees were kind and helpful. This is why Walmart is always a last resort for me but sadly in so many places it's the only choice. There is always something wrong with the departmen's or the system. if you want something out of the locked shelves you better clear your schedule for the rest of that day because you'll be waiting hours before someone gets to you just for them to not have the keys available to open the shelf, while your waiting dont call because they either will not answer or hang up on you. the customer service sucks. read more

This is the poorest managed Walmart I have ever been in . There are times when the check out area is dirty , and the self checkout area always has 4-5 registers that are not operating. I have complained numerous times, even to corporate which sent me a perfunctory letter . Orangeburg is a smedium-sized town. The population is around 67k, but its central location between and near some highways makes it a logical location for some big box stores that have greatly changed the town since the days when people would regularly saunter up and down the main street. That main street is still there (Russel St.) but it's a shadow of what it used to be since the availability of cars and suburbanization has taken place. Nowadays, like in so many other cities, WalMart has become the center of town. This megastore has everything from gardening to rifles to a seafood section. You can even get a haircut here, though I don't recommend it unless you're A) a soldier B) a Southern Belle C) someone with a sense of humor about your own appearance. I fall into the the "C" category. It is easy to glance at those big letters "Wal*Mart" and think it's the same as every other one around the country. But even under the cold repetition of corporate rubber stamping, local nuances seep in. Take the SC blue laws. On Sundays before 1:30pm, you can enter through the grocery side, but you will see a blue ribbon stretched across the aisles, dividing the store between food and merchandise. No one is going to stop you from ducking under the tape and filling up your cart, but you won't be able to check-out. On Sundays, you need to be saving your soul, not saving on that sweatpants sale. After 1:30pm, the store is fully-functional. I can't rate this store against other Wal*Marts because I feel for me to say "the helper in the electronics section was incredibly slow and turned her back on me to talk about her vacation time with a fellow employee while holding the iPad cable I want to buy, waving it in the air like a conductor's baton" would be a criticism on South Carolina culture. People take their time here, it's the way things are. Love it or leave it, ma'am. For being in a smedium town with a lot of large people, I have to give this store credit for keeping some organic items, a decent fresh fruit and vegetable section, some major coffee bean brands (because you will not find good coffee in Orangeburg [yes, I'm being critical this time]) and the usual creature comforts a traveling Californian can miss (though $5 for a tiny bottle of kimchee is highway robbery). Good grocery store. Has all the basics but is a bit run down. I stopped by on a road trip and found everything that we needed. The bathrooms are ok. I wouldn't suggest it if you can wait but works if you need to. Bottom line...good pit stop to grab necessities for a road trip. This store is lucky it is the only choice of its kind in the area for about a 20-30 mi radius because otherwise it wouldn't have much business. The store has the basics most walmart's do. Their produce is nothing impressive, meats are average. The store itself is always dirty. The bathrooms are pretty much guaranteed to have some sort of bodily substance in the stall, even immediately after it's been "cleaned". Most of the stall door are broken in some way, either the purse hook or the door latch itself. Employees are a gamble as with any store. There are never enough registers open, which is sad because it forces customers to use the self checkouts (i don't like using a device that takes a persons job but when there's only two registers and i only need 3 items im doing a self checkout!). Overall, this store is just nasty and unpleasant to visit. read more

The store manager, Patrick, is the most unprofessional, disrespectful, and the most trifling manager I've ever met. I got kicked out of his store for doing my job. My main concern is how he handled the situation. I was using the PA system in order to recruit customers to my booth, which is what my job requires. He came up to me hung the phone immediately up in my face, and then started aggressively telling me I have no right to use his phone, I will not be yelling at his customers, and I proceeded to let him know that he he did not have to be hostile, and he could have came at me in a more respectful manner. He then proceeded to say "you think I'm being hostile? you can get out of my store." And then walked off like nothing just happened. There are many other ways he could have approached the situation, but instead he chose to be aggressive, very unprofessional, and had an attitude the entire time. After that incident I called my corporate office, and as I was on the phone with them, I approached Patrick in front of a few co-workers, and I asked him his name. He bluntly asked me what my name was first. I put my hand out to shake his hand and told him my name, and he looked at me with a very disrespectful attitude face, and did not shake my hand. He told me his name was Patrick, and I asked him for his last name. He told me I can look on the Walmart receipt, because his name is on there. I explained to him that I was on the phone with my corporate office and that they will be contacting his corporate office shortly. Again, like I said, he could have approached the situation in a completely different way. I'm really hoping he will get dismissed from his position because he was in breach of contract between his corporate office and mine. There is no reason for him to kick me out of the store, unless I was being irate, which I was not. I still remain professional throughout the whole situation. I even had customers come up to me and asked me if I was okay because they had seen the incident and wanted to know if they could help. They also agree that the manager had an attitude. I really hope there's a resolution to the situation because I really enjoy doing my job and working with Walmart. read more

This is the best Walmart I have ever been to. I love technology so when I got there I tried out the first times I had ever seen actual tablet demos in Walmart. The food sections prices are fair.and I also love books and I wish they would've had a larger section but I guess what they have now will do. Overall this is a great store. read more
