Karon is a sweetheart. She not only double checked that I hadn't forgotten anything but she chatted with me a bit during my check out experience. The store was surprisingly cleaner than I'd expected it to be so late in the day. I browsed their women's clothing section and their seasonal items. I love how inexpensive their produce is! I'm visiting port Allen for a few days. I didn't need much. All the things I went looking for they had. It was a nice store to shop. read more

I am often charged multiple times for the same item. I have also paid for items I did not purchase (I can only assume the cashier scanned their items while I was placing items on the counter or some other similar scenario) as was the case today. While the dollar amount is about $5.00 per visit, it adds up not to mention the neglect, deceit and or theft on their parts. I spend a lot of money at Wal Mart in Port Allen and do not appreciate being robbed in the above described manner. The only reason I continue to shop there is the difficulty and time with traffic crossing the Mississippi River bridge into Baton Rouge. I can only assume they are counting on that. read more

It's hilarious how little this Walmart has at any given time. Seriously, they are always stocking shelves, but never have that one item you really came in for. It's comical. They seem to get a new manager every year or so - and every one of them says the same thing: "things are going to change around here." "We're working to get better every day." But the sad reality is, we all know things won't change. It's Walmart. It's the only 24-hour facility in the area that people can go to to get whatever they want - except that one item you really came for. You want friendly service? Smile... You might get a smile back once the cashier looks up from her latest text message. Friendly enough, I guess. But seriously, what are you honestly looking for when you go to Walmart? You're looking for groceries. Or toilet paper. Or diapers. Or pharmaceuticals... You can get those at the pharmacy inside or from the car outside with dark tinted windows. They have the necessities. They have what you need. And they stay open for 24 hours. That's why we go to Walmart. And that's why we will continue to go to Walmart. There may not be any cashiers at any register if you go in extremely late... or really, even at 6 in the afternoon. But that doesn't matter. You can use the one self register that works and check yourself out. Oh, also, they have 2 Redbox machines! One on either entrance. So, that's a plus. read more

I can not stand this Walmart or Walmart in general but this is the worst one. There is always 5-10 employees standing around in the self checkout/customer service area talking and/or on their phone. When you need them to take an item off etc... they roll their eyes and huff and puff like you have inconvenienced them. The biggest issue is the fact they NEVER have checkouts open. I DO NOT GET PAID TO WORK AT WALMART. Do your freaking job and work the cash register. It's hilarious and sad that people have to do their job for them so they can stand around, collect a check, and complain about not making a "living wage". Sure if I only had 2-3 things I'd do self checkout to skip longer lines, but parents of small children, people with disabilities, or just people in general that understand Walmart is not their employer should not have to check out 100s of dollars in a self checkout. Very poor management and staff at this location and I don't necessarily think it is limited to just this branch either. For the Walmart employees that actually do your job, thank you as you are few in number. read more

Only come to this Wal-Mart if you absolutely have to! I am truly disappointed with many employees. Some have no customer service skills whatsoever. I will wait in a long line just to get a cashier I know will be pleasant. I have been there numerous times and have had a cashier not even say 1 word to me at check-out! Who does the hiring at this place? Seriously!! I understand that people need jobs, but people also want a pleasant place to shop at, especially after a long day already dealing with horrible people! read more

Just disgusting. I went to the restroom and the toilet paper had blood on it. It was just gross. Soap dispenser was empty and no tissue to dry your hands. I went through the walmart and the shelves look like it was stock up in a hurry. I went to a lot of Walmart and this one seems to be handled by people who just dont care. read more

I am absolutely not keen on the customer service at this Wal-Mart. I have definitely seen better especially outside of Baton Rouge and it is just a shame to see the lack of customer service continue like it is the norm. This Wal-mart is dirtier compared to others. When I moved to Addis nearly eight years ago, I was so frustrated with the customer service that I called the corporate office to complain, yet the customer service has not improved over the years. If you ever see me in this Wal-Mart it is because I am killing time before work, I am in desperately need of something or I real have to use the restroom and that's about it. read more

The only reason it still has 3 stars is because the staff is nice and I was able to find some batteries that are hard to find. HOWEVER...mmmmmaaaannnn, wth Walmart? I go to the grocery item section and purchased some leeks and when I get home to cook them between the leeks there were small buds of roach droppings.... Now I know its hard to find things between items in the fresh grocery section, but ****... :( read more

Horrible service. I've been sitting outside for 15 min trying to do the grocery pickup. I've called the number several times and no one answers. I've called the store and no one knows how to help me. Without a doubt the worst Walmart on the planet. Sadly, it's the only one close to most people on the Westside so we have to patronize it.

I never write reviews. Never. I called this store asking if they sold rainbow bandanas, as I needed one. They took about 5 minutes to pick up the phone, but as it was the 4th of July I figured they were busy. A woman answered and told me that she didn't know if they specifically sold rainbow ones, and I asked nicely if she could check. She then said of course, and proceeded to hang up on me. Once again, I didn't get mad because sometimes things happen. I called again, and after another 5 minute wait the same woman picked up again. My exact words "Hi, I just called about the rainb-" then she hung up. It was obvious that she did not want to check and kept hanging up to avoid the task. I am livid, because whenever I am in a unfamiliar town I always call ahead to see if they have the product available before I make the drive. Not once has an employee done this. Completely unprofessional and rude. If the employees answering the phones are this rude I can't imagine what the store is like. read more
