And when getting curbside, it feels like they never bag anything. I still need to carry these items into my home. Why do they avoid using bags? Half of my order wasn't bagged once. Milk, chips, grapes, why are we not bagging these items? Did your parent not make you bring groceries in from the car?

Where do I start? We were in the mall shopping for men's shoes. We were looking for a specific…read moreshoe. We tried the other mall stores and decided to try JCP. When we entered, there was a marked difference in the temperature of the mall and the temperature in the store. Okay, perhaps their AC is on the fritz. We kept shopping, and saw an ad for BOGOHO Levi's. Okay. We found what we were looking for, but wanted to pay. Every register closed. The one middle eastern lady we found was too busy talking to her friend, she wouldn't take our payment. She told us to go to cosmetics, where we had to wait ~7 minutes for some random dude to pull off his "high finance" at the register. When it was our turn, we talked to the very nice cashier who told us the AC has been out every Summer since she started working there....FIVE years ago. Seriously? After payment, we left cosmetics and found the chatty Cathy employee still talking to, and helping another employee pay. Get it together, JCP. Who the heck wants to try on clothes when they're sweating? Fix your AC and get some employees who want to help.

The store is laid out in the traditional big box, JC Penny design. They have a very large clothing section for Men, boys, girls and women. Prices are reasonable, and they always claim to have a sale going on. I think the sale is purely a marketing ploy, but either way, the prices seem fair. The staff was friendly even with the onslaught of holiday shoppers. I did like this store, but prefer the more modern stand alone stores not attached to a mall. It seemed that those types are easier to navigate.

Besides, there's no room for them to expand. Surprisingly, there have been a few times when I went to get something at the WM close by my house, and they didn't have it! If I didn't feel like doing the somewhat stressful drive to North Beaumont, I'd speed through the countryside to the Bridge City WM. Most of the time, the Bridge City WM had what I was looking for. Claustrophobics, beware: The aisles are too narrow to turn your buggy around. That's how crammed in things are here. Staff are their normal unhelpful selves. No grocery section, but they do have nearly everything else. So if you want to pick up some food along with your household goods, then walk a short way across the parking lot to Popeye's. They reopened near the end of 2025. Have fun . . .
