I usually never do curbside pick up at this Walmart, only ever been to Siegen walmart...worse mistake ever. They literally only have 2 people working curbside and they're both tending to 1 car per pickup..... I've been waiting for almost 45 min. Lordt. Came in to return shoes and six employees were standing there conversing and weren't even trying to help. Then one lady said she would be right with me, and continued to walk off, leaving behind 5 chatty employees. Then the employee who eventually decided to help, had a stinky and funky attitude. Terrible customer service and they should not be working at a customer service help desk.! read more

I simply cannot understand why people post low star reviews with the reasoning of "no one was nice" or "they didn't load my cart"... it is not a mom and pop shop and you will not get concierge service here. , Sometimes you may not even get a smile from the person excepting your return at customer service. But that is not why people go to Walmart. They go for the low prices and because it's a one stop shop. It is a cost and benefit game. We use this Walmart at least twice a week, sometimes we do the grocery pick up service that is offered with a minimum order of $30 and sometimes we go in. It is true that I sometimes wonder around looking for something that an employee cannot identify for me. Last time and employee did not know what a caper was. But that is OK, when I finally found them they were over a dollar cheaper than the local grocery store. We use the pharmacy there, get all of our personal hygiene products and make up there, storage bins, clothing for my five and one-year-old girls, diapers for the baby, as well as of course food. Since it is a superstore you can expect a crowd most times you visit. I combat this by going right after school drop off whenever possible. Other times we go with the understanding that it may take a while. Sometimes we buy a banana or two to snack on before shopping, sometimes we get fresh packaged fruit, cheese and nuts in the veggie area. I've been pleasantly surprised with how much selection Walmart has begun to offer in order to compete with smaller local grocery stores- frozen fish and meats, the bakery is terrific, and even the fresh fruits and vegetables. This last visit I was surprised by the low stock of diapers but luckily we are thrifty and use Parents Choice brand and they made plenty of those! In review - it's Walmart. You go there for the lowest prices and biggest selection of basically everything in one place! And now with the savings catcher app you really know that you'll get the lowest price! And Walmart pay cuts the need to even bring your wallet inside! Just load your credit card information on the Walmart app and scan and go! And with free WiFi you can even compare prices while you shop or use the Walmart app to lookup what aisle an item is on. You won't ever convince me to stop shopping there! One negative - the cigarette butt disposal is right at the entrance which encourages employees to smoke there. Yuck. But we just know to go in the side door and problem solved! read more

DO NOT & I REPEAT DO NOT EVERRRRR DO A GROCERY PICKUP FROM HERE!!!! Unless you want to have high blood pressure for the day and want to slap someone. It's absolutely awful!!! I have been using Walmart grocery pickup for a few years now, since the program started really. It's so convenient for a busy mom like me and saves me from having to take my kids into the store and risk getting them sick. I've used this location many times. Why I continue to give them chances?! I don't freaking know but never ever again. That is for certain. Today, I had an order scheduled for 9am. Here comes 9am, 10am, 11am. Then I get an email saying my order is delayed. Well yea, you think?? i never got an order ready alert until 2:30pm. Wtf! Ok. I head to the store. Checked in and parked. It's 3:00. I waited. And waited. And waited. There were tons of cars before me. All waiting. I never even seen a worker walk out the door until 3:30. AND THEY WENT TO A CAR WHO PULLED UP 10 MINS AFTER ME. What about all the people before me?? They don't care clearly. 3:45 now. Someone comes over to confirm my order. Ok. I thought maybe they were about to bring my things. Nope. 4:00. I called the number on the sign. The woman says "oh your stuff is right here. I'm coming out now". Okkkk. Feeling hopeful. Nope. Another 30 minutes before they walked out with my order. Got it & went home. Not to mention all the people before me. Most of which still hadn't been serviced. Start to check my order at home, missing about 25% of it. And many other things weren't correct. Just plain incompetence. They never alerted me or noted my account of any out of stocks or substitutions. A pure waste of time. Now tomorrow morning I have to go in the store. Stand in line and customer service and then go pick my own groceries which I honestly should have done to begin with instead of having to deal with these completely incompetent and lazy people. Mind you, there were 4 of them in that dept while I was waiting. And everytime they went back inside, it was 20-30 mins before they returned. Clearly they have no customer service skills and they don't want to work. Please, save your self the time and energy and don't go here. Honestly don't waste your time going inside either. Self checkout doesn't take cash. The bigger self service registers are always down and the woman at the door makes you feel like a criminal as she spends 15 minutes looking at your receipt. read more

Look a 3* review for Wal-Mart is akin to a 5* for any place else. I mean I'm not that exacting in my demands for Wal-Mart because one should already know what one is getting, and getting into, when visiting such a location. I mean it has what I need for my requirements such as toiletries, HABA (Health And Beauty Aids for you unwashed masses), food, automotive, electronics, household goods etc... The self-checkout stands are my current crush cause I can blow in, get my items and blow out... If you are complaining about the parking lot or long lines at the check out well if you've ever been to a Wal-Mart before then you should be conditioned to the situation by now. read more

I'm always at Walmart on Airline in Prairieville.... I live a mile away and its so convenient. The prices are the best and I use the Savings Catcher App. I've been using the app since February. Just scan your receipt on your cell phone and Walmart compares prices and once they find cheaper prices, they gave you the difference back in Walmart egift card to use on future purchases. This far, I've received $105 in 8 months to use on my purchases in Walmart. Pretty Sweet Deal !!! So load that app and begin scanning !! read more

This Walmart location is so disappointing. The only reason I go to this location is because it is the closest one. I plan to start going elsewhere. The store has the products I want but the service is horrible. Only 1-2 nice cashiers. The lines are long because no lanes are ever open. Yesterday I went shopping at Walmart and as I was leaving the woman to a while to check my receipt to match it to my groceries (which I have no problem with) but today I went and another lady was at the door. I asked if she needed my receipt and she gave me a not so nice look and said no. I understand that she may not have to check but there is a nice way to say it. Also, no one is ever in the deli area or the deli meat area. Considering the amount of time and money people spend here, I wish the staff would be of more service and have better attitudes. read more

Not sure why this Walmart has a 2-Star average. People have high standards for Walmart. Let me tell you, I never go into one expecting to be waited on hand and foot. Even high-end, expensive stores don't treat people with respect, so how can people expect that from Walmart? I just don't get it. So, if you lower your standards before coming in here, it may completely change your perspective. I had a great experience here! First off, I was greeted at the door (rarely happens at any Walmart stores I have been to in Baton Rouge), there is a Hawaiian Shave Ice (Hokulia) inside the store and they have shook uniforms. So already, my experience was off to a great start. Did I get greeted in the check-out line? No. I didn't want to push my luck though. I was already having a decent experience, so I didn't want to ruin that by being mad at the cashier that did not greet me in the line or at least ask how my day was. Will I be back here? I went for my pickup this morning, and it was typical walmart. First they have no sams choice water. That isn't a hard tyhing to keep in stock. The computer still shows it in stock, so I don't know what to think of them. They always want me to allow them to substitute orders, so I allowed it for aaa rechargeable batteries, because they are rechargeable; how bad could substitute be? They tried to give me non rechargeable aaa batteries. I guess this (not so) super walmart doesn't sell rechargeable aaa batteries, or why would they try to replace the with non rechargeable? Maybe because they are cheaper. The last time I allowed a substitution they tried to give me 2 n.y. strips for ribeyes. I ordered a no sugar added apple pie which they had. today is 12-11, it expires on 12-12. This store needs to close it's doors. read more

OK. You all are probably wondering why I gave this Wal-Mart five stars. I will tell you why. I frequent this Walmart a lot in the last year that I have lived in Prairieville and I frequently it's usually after 8 PM at night. The staff that is there when I go in is not your typical Wal-Mart staff. and these individuals are extremely friendly, helpful, and genuine people. I can be walking down any aisle of the store and when I come in contact with a staff member they always say "hi there nice to see you again. is there anything I can help you with". Whoever is doing the hiring on the night shift at this Walmart in Prairieville is doing a fantastic job with their hiring techniques and their retention policies. Because it's been almost a year in the same individuals are still there. I would list names, but I do not have their permission to post their names on this post because I haven't asked them so I'm not going to. That's why I go to this Walmart and do this Walmart only in the greater Baton Rouge area. I go there for the level of service I get from the people that are working for them at night. I've had some of the best conversations with people that has worked at this Walmart. I recommend this Walmart to each and every person that reads this post. read more

I love Walmart! Go here almost every day! Lol no really I do!! I live just up the rode and I just left a few minutes ago! They pretty much always have what I need. I can come anytime and pick up a few items. I love self check out. That is what I always use every time I go! One thing I do not like are the people that have their post up trying to sell you newspapers other than that I never have had a problem here. If I could give zero stars I would. Let's see, I bought some "WORK" boots for 35.00. My husband wore them 1 week and the soul of the shoe started coming unglued. I tried to return them WITH THE RECEIPT. They would not take them back because they were worn. Really? No shit. He bought them to work in hence work boots, I called the main headquarters and they said well of course, what are they going to do? Are they planning on putting them back out to sale again? I would hope not. They said too many calls about this Walmart not taking things back will raise attention and someone will start looking into it. They said the manager should call me but never anyone called. Before that it was a blower and they would not take it back again with a receipt, the excuse them because it had been used. This is such bogus excuses. You can take back to any other Walmart and they will take it back. When I tell them about This Walmart they say that's ridiculous. I have been sitting on the phone for 30 minutes before I started writing this review to try and get anyone to answer. It just came on and said someone can't take my call right now and hung up. I love this Walmart. I go in and I feel like everything there is just the best thing a person could buy. In my mind there is no other Walmart. It has become my staple. I get excited to buy anything when I know that this Walmart is involved. It's roomy, it's got nice colors. The check out stations are just such a rewarding sight. I have been to wall-marts all over this country. This is consistently the worst wall mart I have ever been to. I have walked out because wall mart employees were breaking in line to check them selves out in front of customers and then became confrontational when you said something about it. This happened twice. My wife and I walked out the other day because the place was so understaffed they had lines that were taking 20 min to check out. This is a very poorly managed wall mart. If you go 10 miles down the road to Gonzales it is a totally different experience. It is worth the trip. read more

I ordered a site to store pick up. It took 20 minutes for anyone to come help me. They were dead. There were no other people being waited on. Since the pickup is by the break room/bathroom, there were several employees that passed by me. None were able to help. On their behalf , there was one girl who tried to help me find the right person. With her help, it took 20 minutes to find someone who could help me. She wasn't very friendly once she had to come help either. Very poor service. I never leave bad reviews but it was beyond belief. read more

I just found out my dad has aggressive cancer this morning. I wasn't feeling well all day, I've been in bed. My husband told me to go to Walmart to grab a few items & to get out of the house so I did even though I was feeling dazed, upset, & weak. I get there there's no carts. People are literally walking around with multiple items in their hands. Workers are just standing around no doing anything like usual being lazy watching people struggle. So since I knew I had a bunch of groceries I found an box to put my stuff in. So as I finished my shopping I went to check out at the cash register it was packed so I stood in line at self check out. I never check out at the self check out. But I did today because i had no cart multiple items, self check would be the closest way to my car. I payed for my first set of stuff. I didn't realize I forgot a bottle of wine so I pay for it separately. When I was leaving Walmart the lady asked to see my receipt I only had the receipt I purchased the wine & kept looking all over for it. She noticed I had dropped $85 in the box I was toting my stuff, and told me I was a mess dropping money forgetting my receipt. I even dug up in the trash trying to find my receipt. I told them to just look it up. I was so dazed & confused I even forgot my change at the self check out which was $15. I accidentally didn't scan the laundry detergent. Jesus Christ these ruthless scums noticed I was obviously going through something, my eyes all swollen from sleeping and crying all day. I made a comment that must of pissed off the manager. I took out $630 & told her my purse is $2,500 alone & I wasn't in need to steal & I could buy 100 cases of laundry detergent right this second if I wanted to! I'm pretty sure That fired her up and caused her to make it a huge deal to get the cops involved. Even the police officer that watched the surveillance said it looked like an honest mistake BUT this ghetto manager that most likely assumes everyone else is like her decided to take it to the next level. She probably assumes everyone's a sneaky thief like her. Not trying to brag but if you look on both receipts I donated to the children's hospital BOTH TIMES. Thieves don't donate to charity they keep the money to themselves. I rescue homeless cats, make my home theirs. I don't believe I deserved this treatment today. I bet this disgusting manager wouldn't bother to give a Homeless person a bottle of water! She's just evil & rude! I hope she gets fired. read more

I have been trying to get someone to answer the phone there all morning. All I get is a "Welcome to Walmart" recording and then the phone just rings and disconnects. Went to pick up a couple of items today. While trying to find one of the items I came for, I saw a young Black female Employee coming down the aisle towards me. I asked her if she happened to know where I could find the item I was looking for, and she walked on pass me without saying a word. Well, I almost came unglued. She walked over to 3 other black female employees, who were hanging around the back corner of the aisle yapping to each other. All of them were goofing off and laughing, but they weren't doing any work. I spoke out real loud and stated to them, "I guess I'm not going to get any help from anyone!" Not one of them stopped talking to ask me what I needed. I tried to find the Mgr, but every Employee I asked, they didn't know the Mgr's location. Do NOT use online ordering! No one knows how to research or process the item. I ordered an item estimated date of arrival 3 Oct. I see online it has arrived at the store, was in there recently without the order number. Girl put in my name nothing, says we need item number. I call the store several days later as status shows arrived in store 3 Oct , but I have not been notified to pick it up. The woman transfers the call and it rings and rings and rings no answer. I have to then go fill out a form to chat, this is all a real pain in the ass....so I am told item is there has not been scanned yet! Why not!? I ask him to insure it is before I have to make an additional trip to store, replies can't I'm in chat...yada yada...do NOT waste your time using online ordering with any Walmart. I have placed several online orders to have 50% of them cancelled item no longer available or this kind of mystery of where's my item crap. Geees what a bunch of BAD BUSINESS, guess the under ground tunnels must have lost my item - Bottom line is WALMART stores do NOT know how to do online purchases!
