The good: I recently became a Walmart + member, and the couple times I've used it so far, I am pleased. The deliveries were on time and accurate. The shopping experience through the app was quick and easy. The bad: the physical store leaves a lot to be desired. The parking lot isn't safe (crime), the store feels dirty, the produce isn't great, and the staff are rude and unhelpful. I dislike this location so much that I often drive an extra 10-15 miles out of my way to visit either the Woodbury or Cottage Grove locations. read more

The only reason I've ever had to shop Walmart is because a family member wants a particular supplement in a large size at a fairly decent price. Not all items are really that much of a bargain but vitamins are the best buy for a brand name. Walmart also has harder to find things than the Target experience. My default store is in Roseville, which fits more of the description of reviews for this store. Distant to rude employees, disorganized shelves, due to the customers, etc. This store was a nice surprise with well organized items, clean and smiley personable check out clerk. I'm not a Walmart Shopper. I know, this is a review of Walmart. Stay with me. I do a lot of fundraising for a local organization, and Walmart lets us stand outside their doors with permission. That's cool. Apparently Walmart has a rule against letting people inside. Lots of other local places will let us be inside. This Walmart has an overhang, so if we are here on a rainy day, it's still ok. Over the past 4-5 years, I have stood outside various Walmarts for so many hours. So many. I recently spend 5 1/2 hours outside this Walmart. I used the bathroom twice (very clean!) I bought snacks twice -- no problems, and looking good bakery and deli and snack aisles! I don't have any strong opinions on the people working here. The cart guys, the welcome dude, the people monitoring the self check out. All fine. There's a nail salon, which not every Walmart has. And their Subway is kinda small, but that's fine. But -- the customers at this Walmart are amazing!! We had THE BEST conversations and people were very generous supporting our non profit. I was looking for an aisle since i wasn't familiar with the store's layout, i tried to get an employees (somalian) attention and he literally just ignored me, i ask the other employee somalian that was behind him and he does the same.. at this point i was pissed ready to crashout and call ICE on all of em, then i ask the female employee (somalian) that was behind the second guy she was somewhat nice and honest and said she didn't know where it was but that lady over there can help. I have just begun to use Walmart delivery and while Walmart has been a very good company to work with the delivery leaves much to be desired. Deliveries are not made during the window that they give me. Items are not included sometimes. Today I had a delivery person that could not speak. One word of English and I received my order as well as someone else's order. Easily the worst WalMart I have ever dealt with anywhere! I had a delivery scheduled and they delayed it. I rescheduled and they delayed it again. I called the store 6 different times over 2 days. They couldn't find the manager and hung up on me twice, and didn't answer the third time. I called the pickup area and they never even answered after three attempts either. This is absolutely disgusting customer "service". And for some reason I couldn't cancel the order, and it's still not canceled. I ate too much before I came here. So it was Whalemart. Definitely one of the worst Walmart's I've ever been to in my life. Not a big fan at all and I think they could do a lot better with regard to figuring out how to actually make customers feel like customers rather than criminals or suspects in something. Definitely not my favourite place in the world and I hate going to Walmart in general anyway but this one is particularly bad with locks on them carts and a lot of crazy stuff going on in here and almost nobody to help you. Saint Paul doesn't seem like one of the most scary high-crime places in the world but if you came to this Walmart you would end up thinking otherwise. Barbie's view on these stores in general: More like Allmart. You can find all you need here. Blanket? Check. Yarn? Check. Windshield wipers? Check. Bananas? Check. Shampoo? Check. Walmart is an evil corporation, but they do have the best prices on most of the stuff you need. It's great that they're adding more vegetarian and plant-based products. Why so much bad reviews? I agree w the last 5 star review. I'd like to add that I have met multiple Employees that were super knowledgeable (hardware) and super helpful (furniture). The arts and crafts section isn't too shabby (office, sewing, painting, beads, sequins, jewelry supplies, glitters...plenty to choose from for adult or child BASIC arts n crafts) either which is why I go there sometimes... you got 3 places in a row if you need arts n crafts (target, hobby lobby and Walmart, how could I complain!?) I've also met a random worker who was married to another Walmart worker, he was super helpful, and excited to be there working w his wife in the same building. How cute. Good vibes. The workers are almost without fail super kind and courteous. It's overcrowded after work hours when everyone is scrambling to get their shopping in. Way better during off peek hours. By the way if the sight of the store gets too... large pallets on the floor all the time, overstock in large bins all over... try the Walmart training location. That one is excellent , it's south of the cities. Can't remember where but one of the employees told me to go there if I wanted a larger art and crafts section. read more

This is THE most nastiest Walmart in the twin cities. Produce smashed all over the floor. Nothing is organized. Floors are dirty. Their associates are rude as hell. I come here about once or twice a year to get peanut oil for the turkey fryer. I really don't have any other reason to shop here. Once Target starts stocking peanut oil in vat-like containers, then I won't be here at all. The price I pay for the oil is fair and it's of good quality. read more

It seems silly to review a big box retailer, but honestly, this is the WORST walmart I've been to next to the now-demolished Midway location. No one knows what the hell they are doing - how do you staff a customer service counter with someone who can't perform a return or exchange? On top of that, no one moves above the speed of a snail. A good way to alarm your customers is to also have an Active Shooter Kit out in the open on the back customer service counter. No thanks. I'll spend the extra to avoid this ridiculousness. read more

First off, I have been in lots of yucky Walmarts, but this one is right down there in the gutter with the worst of them. Sadly, it compares about equally with the downtown Renton Washington Walmart. I acknowledge that it's difficult to get trainable employees to empty garbage cans, clean restrooms, and stock shelves. But when the employees are visiting amongst themselves in plain view of the supervisors, it's just a sign that the inmates are running the asylum. It's dirty, it's not stocked and it draws some lax employees. Walmart is simply declining everywhere in favor of their online business, but some things can't be shipped and are never in stock. For whatever reason, this is consistently the grossest Walmart in the St. Paul Metro. read more

The pharmacy has idi*ts as well. I had my prescription transferred there because it's closer to my route home. They are so d*mb they told me you can't use a coupon with insurance. My Dr had to send my prescription to my normal Sam's club pharmacy where they know how to use a manufacturer's coupon. The employees though out the whole store are incompetent. The ones at the return desk can be helpful, but that's it. But you can't return something by looking up the receipt if you already did that way. That's the stores fault though of course. read more

There are some cheap things you need and walmart is good for it sometimes and im grateful for that but with covid far from gone why did i go in the other day and see at least 5 people and their kids with zero mask whatsoever even though it clearly states it on the door. Employees who are so arrogant and with zero knowledge; doesn't even know the Walmart policies! I used the 'self check out lane' and didn't get my receipt. Reported to the young lady standing over there and she said that she can't do anything since the person behind me already scanned their items in the same machine. So I asked what I am supposed to do and got the reply " I can't print the receipt" without even looking on my face and continued chatting with other people. I asked, will Customer Service" will be able to help me and then she said yes I have to go there. Lady (Erica Douglas) at the Customer service said she can't do anything and I have to go back to the self check out counter's lady again!! I told she said she can't do anything. I said, I need to return and buy back the same items so that I will get a receipt. She said its impossible and after a long argument, she called the manager. Waited for a long time, the 'manager' showed up. He said he needs my credit card's last 4 digits in order to 'identify the purchase' in the system and it will take time so I should wait. WHAT???? I told him, According to "Walmart Return Policy", if the consumer doesn't have receipt, a store card will be issued for the same amount. Why they can't do that so that I can return n repurchase the same items and will get a receipt also by doing so. Then he said "Yea it will work". Are you kidding me?? A customer has to teach the "store manager" about the easiest way to return the items and get a receipt. Miss Erica seemed to be embarrassed and I think either she didn't get the memo about the training session where they teach the 'polices' or Walmart's hiring team is the worst. I am thrilled about this particular location because it is the only one that has a shampoo I've been hunting all over for. It's Vanart herbal shampoo, that is the closest thing to the original Clairol Herbal Essence from the 70's, that has been discontinued for awhile now. There's actually a FB page to bring it back, that's how fanatic we are about this. So the group basically chases down things that smell like it. Vanart is a product of Mexico, and describes it as the next best thing. Which makes sense as to why it's here. WSP and the surrounding area has a large Latino/Mexican population. It's very cool and sensible that the store carries products that reflect it. Also it was 1.97 for a 32 oz. bottle. Worth the trip for this alone. read more

Ordered tires online to be sent to this Walmart. On a Monday, sent an email my tires arrived, email said to take the printed email to the Tire Lube Express at this Walmart. Went on a Wednesday, presented email to TLE clerk, told I had to take it to Site to Store. Went to Site to Store, told they don't know where my tires were, that they believe it was still in the truck that hasn't been unloaded. Did not look like they even tried locating my tires, the Site to Store clerk was only gone for a minute. Who can locate tires in less than a minute? Went home, checked email, saw a FedEx tracking number, this means the tires were sent through FedEx Ground, not a semi truck that needed to be unloaded. Lied to? Wow. Sent Corporate Walmart an email. Went back on Friday, told to go to Site to Store again. Clerk gave me an attitude, "Your tires ARE here." Different clerk this time. Like wow, okay, I wasn't even being mean or anything. Fortunately, I think the TLE manager was there, he's the one that actually installed my tires. Great guy, he actually got it done right on time as he estimated. Made the experience better, but I still have to give this place only a 2 star because of the poor service and communication they provided prior to the actual installation. Told myself will never have tires sent to this Walmart again, will send it to the Woodbury Walmart instead next time, hopefully they will have nicer people. I went to the service desk nobody was there. I asked a worker n she said no service desk isn't open without even looking at me. You would think the last thing that would come into consideration when you shop is the condition of the restroom. That said the restrooms at this particular Walmart are beyond disgusting. Privacy stalls are busted, and recently my wife was grossed out by seeing feces and blood on the toilet seat. That aside, this store always seems to be picked over more so than any other Walmart I've shopped at. It is a shame, because I like many rely on Walmart for convenience and low price. read more

I understand the current situation with a global epidemic with the virus but I came to fill my water jugs at the water dispenser and when I went to go rang it up, I was told I can only have one jug. Being that these are my jugs, I told the lady if I can only have one then they can dump out the water from the other one because I want my jug back; and then she said just this time I can have two. Again, I understand and syphathize with the current struggle but come on, this water came from their tap through their filtration system and it's not like a case of bottled water or anything.
