The bakery is a joke. No one is ever available, always have to go to customer service to get assistance. They totally misspelled the name on a birthday cake for a 5 year old. The correct spelling was AIDEN which I spelled for them when they took the order. The misspelled it on the cake and on the sticker. read more

One word for the bathroom. Ick. Maybe two words. Quite disgusting. 3 -5? Really really nasty. Why did I go in? Too much coffee and almost 150 miles since our last stop. One word. Desperation. The store, nearly empty on Saturday afternoon, was dim which just exasperated the dinginess. On a positive note, there were several registers open and a few of the self checkouts were functioning. Though, the employee guarding the registers, arms crossed, eyes darting between registers, made me feel guilty as she watched me ring up my two Gatorades. Some hits and some misses, this was a quick stop for some supplies for the Sprinter van. I found lunch meat and sliced cheese, they were nearly completely out of bottled water. That's frustrating and I wasn't the only one looking. Other than that, the store was in good shape. Clean, decently lit, cart corrals were mostly empty. My experience keeps getting worse with each trip. This last time they were out of diapers! Yes. Super Wal-Mart. The worlds largest retailer was out of diapers. Wow. Thank you so much. But with a coupon got the same size box at fodlion (misspelled for reasons listed below) for the same price. Ha! Also. Watch out yelp review readers. The Walmart in Salem VA is one of the worst locations I have ever been in. I have gone there a couple of times per week for several months. On two occasions there service has just been absolutely awful and their managers don't appear to care about customer service. It is time for me to finally stopping spending my money with Walmart. read more

Best Pharmacy! Wonderful customer service and they always take their time to explain mine and my kids meds to me. Took only a few minutes to get my flu shot on busy busy day also. Walmart food side gets no stars from our family though. As the milk section is chronicly empty as well as the frozen section. And the produce area always looks as though its a day too late. read more

We stopped here in Salem VA on our b trip from the frozen north(massachusetts ) to Florida in our 38 ft motorhome. Up until this point, the trip was not going well. A lot of small inconveniences and annoyances. We went into the store and spoke with the manager to find out if it was ok to park there overnight. He said "absolutey!" Then proceeded to tell us that Sam Walton had something in his will allowing travelers a safe, we'll lit place to spend the night after a long day of driving. We were able to get some things for a quick dinner and dry cat food and treats that we forgot at home. Everyone there was so kind and helpful. I will recommend this place to our motorhome friends. Do not use their pharmacy. Every single time I have gone there, there has been some issue with my prescriptions. If you ask them to text you when your medications are ready, they won't do so in a timely manner. In my opinion the worst pharmacy ever. read more

Not enough cashier's. Wait in line to long. Late nights you have no registers open, just self service. Then you have everyone stocking two or three per isle and you can't get down. read more
