Our party of four stopped in to buy souvenirs and local food items during our one day trip to San Juan from the Royal Caribbean cruise ship, Icon of the Seas. The supercenter was very large and had most items for everyday living, at prices that I'm assuming locals find acceptable. It is two stories, with a multi-level parking garage below. The first floor is mainly the grocery store portion, with the upper floor being the typical 'Walmart' discount department retailer items, connected by a cool moving ramp (travelators) that allows carts to be brought along as well. Later learned that the wheels are locked not by magnets, but by a mechanical system where tiny grooves in the wheels interlock with the moving meta track, to make the cart immobile while on the track. I tried it out and it definitely worked as advertised. The location required a car to get there from the cruise ports, thus were not really used by many tourists/visitors when we got there. They did have a small tourist/souvenir section upstairs, but there was nothing that our group wanted, and prices seemed similar to the many shops in the tourist section of Old San Juan. We did buy a small bottle of locally produced vanilla, and did find that the games section had Pokemon cards for sales, that we took advantage of. Payment was through a self-checkout area, and my Walmart+ membership was recognized via my entered phone number, delivering the receipt via email. There are 13 Walmart supercenters in Puerto Rico, with this 150,000 square feet one opening in 2013. Our private tour guide did mention that we were the first group of hers that specifically asked to stop by a Walmart. I joked that maybe on our next visit, she could take us to a Costco nearby on the island. read more

This Walmart has a vertical layout unlike the usual ones that have a wide parking lot. This is a supercenter and has groceries and general merchandise. If you're looking for affordable souvenirs from Puerto Rico (magnets, shirts, paper weights, etc), they only have a few here on the second floor unlike in Walmarts in Hawaii. The souvenir designs are limited and are not as good as the ones in Old San Juan stores. Would recommend going to the souvenir stores in Old San Juan like the ones on Calle Fortaleza. read more

They have everything I need. I love the store. The people are nice and I always find what I need.

Stopped in this Walmart the day before my cruise from San Juan so I could get shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. As a carryon only person I buy toiletries when I arrive in town so I don't have to check a bag. This Walmart was a 20 minute walk from my hotel. I walk fast and made it in about 14 minutes. There are sidewalks so it's an easy and safe walk during the day for a solo female traveler. I probably wouldn't do this walk at night though. This Walmart had two stories and a parking garage. I've been in a two story Walmart before, there's one in downtown Denver. But unlike the one in Denver with an escalator this one had a people mover. Must be easier for the grocery carts. Groceries and alcohol are on the first floor, Clothes and electronics are on the second floor. I can't remember if toiletries were on the first or second floor. Found what I needed. Prices were the same as back home. For a small Walmart, I was surprised that they had certain brands. Staff was very helpful and patient. The guy who helped me find coconut water stopped restocking to help. It too a few minutes to find it so I appreciated his willingness to invest the time. Looked for packaged salads but didn't find anything, some interesting groceries here that you won't find in a continental US based Walmart. There is a charge for bags. I had brought a small backpack for my purchases. I'd shop here again. read more

This Walmart has a very interesting concept. Parking is in a parking garage. Elevators are required to enter the store. Luckily there were people that was nice enough to tell us which floor to go to because there were no signs and if there was... It wasn't helpful. The carts glide and I think it's because the wheels need to latch on to the flat escalator in the middle of the store to go up or down a floor. The deli had a much better selection of food than we do in the states. I got some really greasy chicken wings. 2/5 for me. Checkout wasn't the most organized. Leaving required having security check the receipt before trying to find room in an open elevator to get back to the vehicle. read more

My husbands hates this Walmart. I can see why. Getting in is stressful with an uncomfortable parking and slow elevators. Not to mention the sticky carts. However, I still like coming here every now and then. What I like is that it's the closest Walmart to us and that also that they open till late. this walmart has a huge selection of items. there are a ton of tropical fruits and authentic puerto rico goods. there's also puerto rican souvenirs. the parking ramp is located above the supermarket, and there's plenty of parking spots. the employees were all super nice and the store is clean. there's often a line for the elevators, but it moves pretty quickly. overall rating: 10/10 read more

Worst customer service ever especially coming from the Manager on shift Jose I was expecting a lot more professionalism. I'll explain the situation ( I proceeded by purchasing my groceries when I was about to pay I noticed in the receipt the machine discounted me for the bags so it showed as saved: .10 which means I was properly charged for it I let the Walmart employee know that I paid for the bags already and he tells me no because it says 0 for the bags I tell him I understand it just that I saved the .10 so it's going to appear as 0 (both appeared the charged for .10 and below the saved) Jose comes and instead of helping he proceeds with insulting me and telling me I look poor enough, that I need those .10 and then tells me you can't eat the bags. Jose has zero customer service and clearly can't represent such positions. I've work as a manager in WAWA I had every type of customer but I would never insult a customer just because he's confused. read more

The only reason I'm giving this store 2 stars is because the store itself was sort of cool in the sense that it had multiple levels and an escalator to accommodate your shopping cart and the prices were affordable. I have never seen a Walmart like this. The staff to this store is VERY RUDE. If you ask for something, they're bothered to help you. Most staff only speak Spanish and the signs in the elevator are in Spanish. They yell at you for where you're standing in line. They cannot politely greet you and ask you kindly to stand a different direction. The fat guy checkout clerk with the cow nose piercing is super rude. He thinks he's there to sport his flashy nose piercing and price tag hanging ear rings. They don't provide grocery bags unless you pay for them but he won't bother to offer them to you either. If you ask for some he will act as if it's a huge chore to turn around and get them for you. Unless you're a local, then he will take his time to accommodate you. If you call him out on being rude, he thinks it's his right to berate you. Clearly he forgets he's in the customer service industry and the reason he has a paycheck is because the store has business! read more

Ok, quick fun fact. Whenever I travel, wherever I travel I visit their Walmart! It's just a must for me to see different Walmarts and I'm not sure why just yet. But I was pleased there was a Walmart near my air bnb. A quick Uber ride. Once inside, I was a bit confused by the layout but was able to find everything that I was looking for! It was clean and the staff were helpful. I probably spent more time in there than I wanted to but it was so different than Walmarts that I'm used to I wanted to check out every department. Being a tourist I felt accommodated and safe. This will be my go to next time I visit the island. read more

The best way to describe this place is that it's your typical Walmart. The first floor is where you'll find the grocery department. Food is really expensive because the store is on an island. The second floor has clothes and electronics on it and they have an esculator to take you to that floor. If youve seen one Walmart you've seen them all. read more

I was here today looking for a new tablet and some food items. First, I've got to say this was a really clean, well organized store. Impressive selection of electronics but not so much with tablets. They only had two on display and neither of them were accessible for testing because they were locked up. Also, trying to find bagels at this place is difficult. They are either hidden or don't have them. That said, everything else is pretty awesome. Fast checkout. If you didn't bring g a bag, you can buy one for 50 cents (reusable too). Great place in Condado. Electronics and men's clothes upstairs but you'll have to look for escalators in center of store. I'd go back for sure. read more

Excellent place to get all my souvenirs from Puerto Rico. Ever since I tasted guava hot sauce on my sandwich, I just needed to get more and bring it with me. The workers were particularly helpful. One even helped me get bubble wrap so that all my hot sauces can arrive safely! read more

I can't find anything shattering to share about this Walmart installment in Santurce. I don't live in PR but I make it my business to visit this Walmart. Great souvenir options, native candies, hot bread, a steam table eatery, hard to find Goya products, and great Puerto Rico apparel and non-food items on the second floor. There are dollar items, and a Coinstar, and a Panda Express, a Pharmacy, many level parking, and car sharing can pick you up right outside. This Walmart too is close by some bus lines. A great place for many things unless you posess that "they destroy mom and pop businesses" grudge. Shake it off, Bro!! read more

We arrived at this Walmart a couple days After the Blackout it was very packed. The main reason we came was to buy souvenirs. They had a small area of the souvenirs. We did not find everything we needed. They do have an escalator belt that goes to the second floor which was convenient. My first Yelp review and it's to state that I am not fond of the Wal-Mart chain but I saw the price drop on twinkling icicle lights so I decided to buy a few but unbeknownst to me the store doesn't have an outlet to try them. If the store is still having items that need to be tested they have to provide the customer a safe place for testing them. AND The two story store is not appropriate without having the ability to use stairs for SAFETY reasons. read more

Glad I finally listened to my friend and went there. Even though they didn't have what is as looking for, they had lots more things. Local foods, coffee, bakery (they bake on premises), helpful staff, even homemade sushi with sweet plantain! Just left Walmart in Santurce and was treated like a criminal. The Security guard checked absolutley every single item in my bag. She took a good three minutes reading every single item on my reciept, and had the guts to ask me to show her the baby wipes, becuase she saw it on the reciept but not in my bag. I saw her put her hand in two other customers shpping bags to verify that they had purchase merchandise. When i spoke with another security guard, he told me that this is Walmart policy.
