I go to the Savoy store weekly. Usually numerous times. John, the door greeter is always friendly. Many stop and talk to him. As a whole the staff on the floor is willing to help. You might have to ask. Lol. Basically the only thing that gets me annoyed is they do a bad job of labeling the shelves/products. I did finally ask about the sports card shelves. Informed me that his registers were closed when I came to checkout with the medicine for our sick child at home. He then said he has kids too, and they are more important, and he cannot be held up with people like me who cannot read. He then offered I could call his manager, but "good luck getting him fired". I was at Walmart at the service counter. There was one person working and there were 7 people in line. I went out and got a manager. I told her what the situation was and asked if they could get another person at the customer service desk. She said it is lunch time. I told her that they should have enough staff to cover peoples lunch break. I was getting annoyed. Within less than 5 minutes there was another person and the line went so fast, it was actually shocking. Often times there is only 2 cashiers at the checkout. Often they are only in the cigarette aisle, which is the busiest aisle of all. There are usually many managers and employees walking around but they don't open a new lane even though they see the people in line. Back again after 2 weeks and my experience was even better this time around. Plenty of friendly, helpful employees working in the store. Great prices on lawn care items right now, which was the primary reason for this visit. Store is clean, tidy and well organized. read more

Horrible place to shop and work!! The management is rude and they don't communicate with each other! Got hired in December, they scheduled me for 2 weeks and never put me back on the schedule. I called multiple times to get the issue fixed and they never fixed it. Got a call last week asking about my absence just to say they were terminating my position after the manager got sassy with me because she didn't communicate with me. Also, while working there the environment was very nasty. The store manager and other associates will sit and talk about other employees but won't help a customer. The store manager yells at customers and the service desk will hang up in your whenever you call (anytime of the day). I do not recommend shopping or working here this place need to be shut down. read more

At four visits to the eye center I still didn't have a pair of glasses. First visit I went in and the young lady working was very rude just didn't want to be bothered with me she started sighing as she got out of her chair and so we came toward me side as she went through taking my temperature and asking the questions side when she took me over to the glasses to look at them explain to me not to touch nothing I get they have rules because we're in the middle of pandemic but I felt like I had cooties and didn't they and will be bothered with me so 15 minutes into the visit I said you know what I'll just come back another day cuz obviously you don't want to be bothered with me she never said anything different I left next time I come she was working again but there was a manager working explain to Heather and she asked if she could help me they needed to look at glasses that I had a prescription and she said we need to make an appointment and I said okay so she asked when I come back we set the appointment I asked that not be with the same young lady just tell me that Brian could take care of me so I come back for the third visit the same young ladies working sign didn't want to be bothered rolling her eyes I said I think my appointments was Brian or somebody else so she says oh you want me to take care of you I said no I feel like you don't want to be bothered with me so I do prefer someone else so she went and got Brian gladly and this guy named Brian was so kind and nice and considerate and over the top with trying to show me glasses and telling me what he got look good on me very attentive so I thought okay he's turned the visit around so I got them paid for him and I didn't buy the cheap ones Friday I got a call that my glasses was in it's been a while so I said I can't come Friday or Saturday she wanted to know if I can come by the two days it was the same young lady I said I have a benefit to do prepare for I can come Monday morning cuz I don't know my schedule but I know I can be there Monday morning she said we prefer appointments she didn't say they mandate appointments so I come this morning Monday morning there's two people I can visibly see working with a third employee in the back running around took me a minute to get anybody's attention nobody was out front to greet me or look for customers so Brian come out and I felt relieved that I had the same nice guy and he went through the same thing as he always does text my temperature ass questions sanitizes my hands and sanitize this account no big deal so as he's doing all this the manager Heather comes out and rudely in front of me choose his rump reprimanding him because I was not to be getting my glasses today I didn't have an appointment and I explained to her that when I had to call it was told me to me that it was preferred not mandatory and she said that's not the problem and she says he knows different and I'll talk to you when I get to later she's telling him in front of me the guy's face was beat red I felt horrible for this Brian so then he brought the glasses out I tried them on as the glasses went up on my nose it pushed my mask to the tip of my nose and I asked him if he could tighten the earpieces a bit so that they wouldn't slide quite so much he said no problem he took him to the back to do so and as he took him to the back to do so Heather the manager informs me in a very rude tone to get my mask back up over my nose it was on the tip it was not completely off mind you so I pulled it up and obliged her and then she went on to go over the same spill as to why I shouldn't be getting my glasses today so at that point I was over it I told her I'd just like a refund so here comes this poor Brian. So at that point I told him I needed a refund Heather had began to chew my fanny again about why I shouldn't have came today after I drove an hour each way and I said to her... I just want a refund and be done with this whole situation this has been horrible a horrible experience from the beginning for visits and still don't feel like I've got good service or glasses except for this poor guy that just got chewed out because of me so when he came out he asked if I could reconsider and I said no I think I just want to be done with it cuz my thought is is why patronize and pay somebody's paycheck when they're that rude and don't really want to be there I really don't want to deal with customers mind you I was the only customer in there at that point I think there was a guy back getting exams but up front I was the only customer with two employees but that's okay I got a refund spoke to the manager and really have no resolution yet read more

Always are low in stock on items. Online inventory is not trustworthy of what is in store. The store is understaffed. It has never been a pleasant expierence going to this store. I have chosen to shops at other stores because of this and I advise others to do the same. read more

This walmart actually was good a few years ago. Now it's just not great, thanks to employees who apparently hate there jobs.(overheard a couple say how much they hate it and the people) Went in yesterday, cashier was jus so unpleasant, didn't greet us, didn't thank us for shopping or say bye, didn't say a word, not even the total. I'm not there to make small talk, but when you're in customer service you at least say something. Went in today, same cashier was there and looked annoyed she was there, we went to another lane that just opened up, same issue. Same goes for one person at the Pharmacy. This Walmart in Savoy is terrible. For a super-center it always has 6 employees TOTAL. Two on registers moving at a snails pace and bagging tiny items in a plastic bag instead of saving on bags and putting all the items in one. One in customer service who also has to answer the phone and s l o w l y puts each returned item away. That leaves a supervisor in the back, a hidden manager who will help if you insist (sort of) and one roving employee for the entire store. Walmart brags it pays its employees a lot. Well when you staff it for a small business they Walmart you could pay them $40/hour. Next issue is that the website says there's plenty of inventory, you go to the store, drag through the aisles to find the one worker and gee, they can't find the item. Anywhere. Oh, I forgot, there is an employee at the door to say hello and goodbye. Hey Walmart, lose that position and hire some staff for the checkouts, the customer service and to help customers. Shopped at 6:00 on a Tuesday night. Severely understaffed cashiers. Took over 15 minutes to get checked out. Manager on duty for cashiers opened up another register and told the customer behind me she could go to that one. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had at a Wal-Mart. We placed a grocery pick-up order that was supposed to be ready between 6-7 p.m. on November 15. I arrived, knowing it would not be quite ready but willing to wait a little. Someone came out to greet me and asked me, rudely, if I received the text that it was ready. I replied that I had not, but was willing to wait. He made an incredulous sound and told me they were behind and to come back tomorrow. Not a problem. I thought nothing of it and was willing to do just that. Received the text this morning, November 16, that it was finally ready. My wife has been sitting outside since 10:00 a.m. and has still not received her order yet. She asked someone there and was told, "we will get it out to you." This is unacceptable. This Walmart is very close to my parents' home. Less crowded than the N. Prospect location, as well, so we typically try to go here. Plenty of parking. This location has a gas station, making Walmart really a one-stop shop. I have been here many times with the folks. Stocked well and you can get distracted by good deals. I wanted to take some time to tell you about how disappointed I was with my experience with the Walmart Deli catering experience. I belong to an organization that organizes a lot of lunch related programing at a University of Illinois college. Usually we spend about $500-$1000 dollars per lunch event and as a college, we probably organize 50-75 lunches a year. We usually cater from various area fast-food companies and pizza places. I recently became aware of the Walmart deli catering option as an alternative and decided to try it out for today's event that catered about 150 students in a professional program. It was a complete disaster. I called yesterday, and it took three attempts to even get to the deli department. Then when I finally got in contact with them, I was told that he was the only employee there and that he couldn't take my order. He asked me to call back in a half an hour. A half an hour later, I called back and once again nobody at the deli department picked up. Eventually, the assistant manager took our order for 5 - 6 ft sandwiches, 2 turkey, 2 ham, and 1 vegetarian. The event was scheduled to begin at noon, so I requested an 11:30 pick up time I arrived 15 minutes early to pickup the order & that was when I was told that they do not have any vegetarian option for sandwiches. The manager later told me that they tried to call me this morning to tell me that they no vegetarian option is available however, it went straight to voicemail. I still haven't received any notification of the voicemail from my phone. Also, it was at this time that we were informed that our 1 sandwich was ready. I told the representative behind the counter that we had ordered 5 - 6 foot sandwiches and she said that they had only made one sandwich. The first representative pretty much made it seem like there was nothing that could be done to fix the problem. Eventually the assistant manager came over and told me that he had told the staff the correct order. At this time, I was not concerned about what went wrong, I only cared about how I was going to feed 150 people in 45 minutes. The only person person who responded with any urgency was Heather, however, it was apparent that she had the least amount of power. Eventually the assistant manager told us that he would provide me with 24 feet worth of pre-made sandwiches instead. I was probably at the store for 20 minutes before this was decided. Furthermore, the manager was surprised when I asked him to cut up the sandwiches so that I could feed the correct amount of people. It then took the staff approximately 30 minutes to cut up the sandwiches. We were also given 3 Veggie platters for free. All-in-all I arrived with the food at about 12:20, for an event that was supposed to go from noon to 12:50. This cut our event significantly short. I was very disappointed with the malaise with which the Walmart staff responded. After this experience, I don't think our organization will use Walmart catering again. read more
