Walmart People Alert! This is an event that occurs once a year.... A few days of the year, special individuals shows up quite dumbfounded about the amazingness that is Walmart. They wander around the center aimlessly. They are afraid to touch the merchandises as they are more comfortable with the items behind a screen. I have spotted the freshmen/college student at Walmart. Walmart will become your church/temple/synagogue. You will visit weekly and offer your appreciation. This might be your first time here. If your parents paying, this is your guide. Lamp- Yes, Get it. You claim that it is for late night reading, but it will serve it's purpose to enhance your snapchat/instagram photo. Lighting is everything. You can't photoshop yourself out of this. Microwave- A must have. College may prohibit this, but try your best to get one. People who can microwave food at night will make you popular when you get the munchies/hangry. If you really don't want a microwave, get a water boiler. You will learn chemistry and engineering late at night. Frig- Cold beverage is always good. Tell parents its for the water... Nalgene- Grab atleast 2. One is for water. The bottle is for soda/juice/etc/ or when you forget where you place the first nalgene. Nalgene will mean everything. Snacks/oatmeal/nuts- Late night food is always good to have. Can't study when hungry. Air freshener/detergents- room smelling good and having clean clothes will make you look like a responsible college student. Grab a hoodie- I prefer a hoodie from your college, but if you see something that you like. Get it. Hoodie will be your clothing attire half the time. This isn't everything that you should get at college. But hey, you have to start somewhere. You will master everything by sophomore year. Enjoy shopping at Walmart. read more

I am extremely frustrated with Walmart's delivery service and customer service process. Missing items have become a recurring issue with my orders. Mistakes happen, and I understand that. What I don't understand is why customers are expected to repeatedly fight to recover money for items they never received. Because this has happened so many times, Walmart's automated refund system often rejects my claims and forces me to contact customer service directly. While representatives generally issue the refund, I am then told it may take up to 10 business days to receive my money back. Meanwhile, I am left without the items I ordered and without the money I paid for them. What makes the situation even more frustrating is Walmart's approach to compensation. When I have asked whether any accommodation can be made for the inconvenience, I am told the best they can offer is a $5 promo code. What is not clearly explained is that the promo code requires another qualifying purchase before it can even be used. In other words, after Walmart forgets part of my order, I may have to place another order to replace those items, pay additional delivery fees, potentially pay for express delivery again, and spend a minimum amount just to use the $5 promo code being offered as compensation. That is not really compensation. It is a discount that requires me to spend more money with Walmart after Walmart failed to deliver the items I already paid for. The most disappointing part is that this is not a one-time issue. If it happened once, I would not be writing this review. This has happened enough times that I already know the refund process, already know I will likely need to speak to a representative, and already know I may be waiting days or weeks to get my money back. Customers should not have to repeatedly prove that missing items are actually missing, wait extended periods for refunds, and then be offered compensation that requires additional spending to receive any benefit. Walmart needs to improve its order accuracy, streamline the refund process, and provide meaningful compensation when repeated delivery errors occur. read more

Regular shopper at store as it is close. Shop in the evening. Staffing has been pretty good for a while. Went to check out and front end guy closed the self check out to about 10 customers. One cashier was on. It was 9:45PM. not until people complained did HE even open a register. it was way to long. No security guard on site. I left my items. This store needs a surprise visit. Yes, it will be reported to Walmart ethics. read more

As a previous employee and now customer, leaving for a better job was so amazing. The place is dirty, the staff is miserable and the stock is always horrible. If you're in the capital region, to go the location in Clifton Park. It's nicer, cleaner and overall I always have a better experience. Walmart in Troy is never a great location to go to. All the items are locked up, the self checkout is always closed and truthfully, this is a non bias opinion. read more

Dangerous and mismanaged store Hello I am writing to you to discuss issues with The hoosick road store. I was in the at around 7pm shopping. First i would like to say this store is mismanaged. They are always low staff and the store is a mess. They recently installed 15 items or less at self checkout and do not enforce it. I was over in the cleaning area and there was a gang of teen guys maybe 15-19 hard to tell. There were riding in scooters and knocking over the febreze display and paper towels. There was NO security. I went to the front and told service desk to get security and what was happening. I left my items and went to walmart east greenbush The security personnel was no where to be seen while i was in there. You have no cop lot light light east greenbush ( and price chopper right around the corner.)Management in my opinion is horrible and there needs to be a big change now.No one ever answers the phone at this store when you call either. read more

I think the seevice here is horrible the people working there dont know where anything is! The prices are pretty good! The place is dirty and dont use the health machines for blood pressure as you will have to use the emergency stop because it doesnt let go of your arm! They have lots of things here to buy! read more

They are OK. I went there to pick up a cellular phone from curbside. They're not allowed to do curbside pick up for a cell phone. You have to go inside to pick up the cell phone. They should have changed the program to rectify that. It was a little disorganized, but no that much of a problem, after a while, I was able to find out where to go to pick it up and away I went with new cell phone. It didn't take too long and I was on my way. read more

Soooo I get theft is huge. But locking up health and beauty products in a bit ridiculous. You have to search for an employee for deodorant......deodorant. The the employee told me they're supposed to walk customers to the register but she didn't have time for that....ummmmm so since I still had shopping to do was she planning on following me around the entire store? Maybe self checkout wasn't such a great idea for this location. I can go to East Greenbush where virtually nothing is locked up but that's out of my way and I like keeping money in my community. I am only writing about the Optical Service of this particular Walmart, which was OUTSTANDING! On the 19th of July I received a thorough eye examination by the professional named Donna. She performed her job with distinction and even a kindly sense of humor, and informed me precisely of my needs and options. In the next stage of the process, the selection of the frames and corrective lenses, Bobbi led the way, while Tom was able to back her up with even more expertise and well-reasoned opinions. Thanks to my insurance and the options clearly placed in front of me--without the slightest degree of pushy salesmanship, I ordered a handsome set of new distance glasses for under $100 that will be ready in no more than 7-10 business days. I assure you I am hard to please, but this store and these three individuals outperformed the most expensive services I have used in the past 20 years. You simply cannot do better and would be foolish to go elsewhere and pay more. My gratitude to each and every one of you. And the facility and choice were magnificent. Finally, the answer is "No"--I do not have a relative or friend that works there. This is my 100% honest reaction and review. read more

If I could give less than one star I would. This place is an absolute disaster, I dread having to go to this location. I find myself driving quite a bit out of my way and paying more just for my safety and peace of mind to avoid the Brunswick Walmart. I have been harassed inside and outside by people I have never seen before in my life for no apparent reason. Just recently (2-3-23) I decided to give it a try again against my better judgement and was rewarded with my vehicle being damaged by a shopping cart of theirs. Almost all of the shopping carts except for literally a handful were out in the parking lot smashed in to the sides of dozens of cars including mine while the employees were nowhere to be found to collect them. This place is bad news, stay away. I will never ever go there again, lesson learned after hundreds of dollars in vehicle damage. read more

Very rarely do I give out one star but this store is awful! I went in to get a new phone and the guy in electronics actually told another customer that it was his last day and he really didn't care. I wanted a phone that was in stock but was $20 cheaper on the website. I asked if they could match the price but they couldn't. Instead I could do site-to-store which meant I could order it, wait till it made its way to the front of the store and then pick it up. They told me it would take an hour so I left and came back. There was no one at the site-to-store counter but there was a pager I could press for service. I waited 15 minutes, walked down to customer services where there was one person working and 16 people in line. The sad thing was there were employees just standing around bsing with each other. They told me that someone would be with me shortly - 10 more minutes later someone showed up and rang me out, but couldn't figure out if the phone was activated, so back to electronics where I waited another 15 minutes to find out that they activated it before they sent it up front. On top of all that, after getting the phone home I found out that it wouldn't work with my plan and I had to return it! read more

Just had the "pleasure" of speaking to a "customer service" associate at the Hoosick St. Wal-Mart. When I asked if the store offered online order grocery pick-up, she had absolutely no idea what I was talking about! She asked if she could put me on hold, so she could ask a co-worker. When she returned to the phone she told me that this location did not participate in the grocery pick-up program...or...as she so eloquently phrased it, "Not this raggedy Wal-Mart. Jesus!". Not a fan of doing away with cashiers so Walmart can cut costs while customers do the work. Still I continue being a customer and spending a good deal of money weekly. Shop for your groceries, either wait in Line for an hour for one cashier or check and bag your groceries out your self. Be sure to expect to be stopped on your way out , because not only are spending your money, checking, bagging, but you are also a potential thief. I think I'm taking my $2,000+ monthly grocery bill elsewhere. read more

Greeters now referred to as "security" clerks who pursue anyone with an item that is not bagged. If you buy a bag of dog food, you will be pestered by one of these clerks. They nod as you walk in the door (hands behind back). As you walk out the door, they tell you they decided to "let you leave" the store. If you plan to buy anything that doesn't fit in a small plastic bag, do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere. Avoid poor treatment by Walmart employees. Listen-- it's a Walmart. Customers are 90% of the problem. I've noticed that the store is especially busy on Mondays, particularly earlier in the day-- my guess is that Monday is big-restock day, as the shelves are pretty empty those mornings and the staff is super busy. After tailoring the times at which I visit, I have (almost) nothing but nice things to say about this store-- the kid who works the photo department is extraordinarily patient (kudos), and the associates who direct customers through self-checkout are also incredibly patient and kind. The only complaint I do have comes back to the customer service department itself-- they will allow the phone to ring off the hook until you are eventually disconnected, which is excruciatingly frustrating if you are trying to find out if you've left you wallet there. I get it-- I too would wonder, "who needs to call Walmart?" well, in that case...I did! Overall, it's a reliable place to shop-- but manage your expectations. read more

This store is horrible! I was with my son in the toy aisle and we could hear an employee from the bike section swearing and complaining about her job! I asked her to watch her language around children to which she apologized and then proceeded to talk and swear about ME to another employee as I walked into the next aisle. I again asked her (Eniece) to stop and she advised me to go tell the manger if I had an issue with her inappropriate language. I did just that, then when I came home I wrote to corporate about her inexcusable behavior in front of my 7 year old son. 2 customers actually thanked me for saying something to her as they had heard her cussing as well. The mangers and employees are rude and completely lack customer service skills. This Walmart does NOT represent the Walmart corporation well at all. They are consistently unfriendly, rude, and disrespectful to their customers. Many of them have no knowledge about the merchandise itself or even where it can be located. This is not the first time I've had an issue with the Troy, NY store either. I have never made a complaint about another Walmart besides this one in my life! Another time I bought my son underwear only to get home and immediately realize that someone had returned old underwear and put it back into the package! The sizes didn't even match up... they were toddler underwear which I bought thinking it was a new design. I took it back right away (within 15 min of returning home), but the lady at the customer service counter looked at me like I was trying to scam them for money.... that is, until I went back to the boys section and pulled 2 more packages off their shelves that were again used and replaced in a package that was the wrong size!!! I could tell right away because the pattern was again different from their normal inventory! The customer service team clearly didn't check their returns because the underwear in all the packages was used and stained! Disgusting!!! Seriously, the employees at this store are incompetent and unfriendly. Fire them all... especially the one with the bad attitude and potty mouth working in the bike/toy department of all places. This store should also not be allowed to sell fish as they do not clean the tanks and constantly claim that the "pumps have been broken for a few days". Yeah... right. There are ALWAYS dead fish stuck in the filters and the fish that are alive are feeding off of the dead ones! It is disgusting! In addition, this Walmart also advertises their bananas for .55/lb, but when you get up to the register, they ring in as $1.98/lb! Who pays that much for bananas that sit on your counter and go bad in 3 days? Imagine how many people they are ripping off each day by changing the price of this fruit. Next time you're shopping in this Walmart, buy bananas and see ror yourself! I've complained about this issue at least 5 times and the manager still hasn't fixed the coding issue in the computer. They dont care! Now I have to get them to price adjust every time I buy bananas. I also don't care for being harassed for my receipt as I'm walking out the door with one large item not in a bag.... especially when all of my other items are bagged, and you just saw me at the self check out! Oh, and good luck finding a basket in this store. They claim that they have none because customers keep stealing them.... I actually do believe that, but here's a solution: attach those big security tags with a metal wire to the side of the basket and then they will beep as the customer is taking it out the front door. It is ridiculous to not have baskets available for paying customers. You have your door patrol people who could likely handle harassing people for receipts and checking to make sure that customers do not take baskets out of the store at the same darn time. I never have a problem here. Its quieter than trying to go to Latham or East greenbush. Those stores are way too hectic for me. I can always get a parking spot too. read more

Renovations, yes please! I was so excited to find out the renovations were done and this Walmart was now a Super Center. I no longer have to drive 15-20 mins to another one. That being said, of course it's clean. However I found the produce to not be up to par, I very rarely buy produce from Walmart, but when I really don't want to make another trip to Price Chopper I settle, but only for a few things. The last visit I found everything to be over ripe, and/ or everything having rotten spots, so of course with frustration I didn't buy anything from this section and headed the 2 minutes down the road. The bread however was displayed in a new way, not down an isle but along a wall near the Deli I believe it was. Also some isle aren't placed as you might be use to like the home goods section across from the bath section..? I found it to be odd, but quickly adaptable. This Walmart also has a Subway in it. And like all Walmart's service isn't that friendly. But I will still gladly come here for lower priced things except of course produce and meat. read more

Very disappointed in the new Walmart. Everything is very hard to find. Prices don't seem to be much lower than PC next door. The worst thing though is the customers. The people who shop there are rude, loud and profane. Plan on your kids learning some new words. read more
