The layout is like an outlet mall in that it's a plaza and you have to go outside to go from store to store (it's not an enclosed shopping mall). The majority of the stores are also not all that interesting to me, but hey I shop everywhere just in case there is some really cool thing just waiting to be discovered, lol. They have lots of athletic stores like Adidas, Puma, Columbia, Reebok and Bench. They have women's fashions (stores I generally like, but the prices are not cheaper than at their retail stores): Laura, Melanie Lyne, Ricki's, and La Vie en Rose. They have unisex fashions: Tommy Hilfiger, Levi's and Roots. They have other stores like Carter's/Osh Kosh, George Richards Big and Tall, Stokes, Paderno and Magnotta Winery. The only store that is truly an outlet is the Designer Fashion Exchange, which is an outlet for TanJay, ALIA and Nygard. It is huge, so if you like these brands, you will likely find some good deals. When I was there last, they had clearance items 5 for $25, and black dress pants for $3.99. There's lots of free parking and it's conveniently located right off the 401. If you go to King's Crossing and are hungry, I recommend eating at Fardella's. It's great. I wrote a separate review for it :)

Laura, Levis, George Richards, Columbia, Tommy Hilfiger, Puma, Carters and a Stokes are pretty much all the stores still open. Reebok has closed. Stokes was having a liquidation sales so their days may be numbered. Definitely a passing by and stop type place as opposed to a destination. But don't be expecting Kate Spade, Ted Baker or Coach! They do have some unique non-chain stores like a place called "Neat Things" and some independent hair salons. At the time of the writing of this review they are undergoing renovations, so maybe they are expanding (?) or modernizing (?). Some parts of the mall look a little dated, but some parts are more modern. The food court is large and looks newer. It's ok to poke around in, but it's definitely not a destination mall.

It's a bit insane, until you put all the puzzle pieces together. I realized that Belleville is home to Shorelines Casino. When you have a casino in town, chances are that you want to entice visitors to shop in the area. I will say that I had a good experience dishing out my dough at this mall. There is ample parking. I parked fairly close to the main entrance and walked in. I was pleased that it has an Old Navy, a Shoppers Drug Mart, EB Games, two music stores (Sam and Sunrise), Eddie Bauer, and more. It doesn't have the feel of an upscale mall, which I appreciate. The mix of stores is nice and I sometimes felt that I was at an outlet. As an example, I scored a pair of jeans at Old Navy for $9.99. They were of great quality and fit nicely. It has a huge food court with eateries that you would expect, such as A&W, Bourbon St. Grill, Mr. Sub, and more. What threw me off was Toro. It had Japanese characters in its sign. I thought it was teriyaki or sushi. Nope, it was an Italian place. Huh? If you are looking for a restaurant to have lunch or dinner at, East Side Mario's is here. It looked busy when I left this mall. I wanted to get a late lunch somewhere else that wasn't a chain. Although the directory has Chapters, GAP Factory Store, LCBO, and more, they are actually not connected to the rest of the mall when you are inside it, walking around. You have to duck outside to shop at these various places. It's a weird setup. My lunch was really an intermission. I then drove back and had round two of shopping until I dropped. The GAP Factory Store is fabulous. For a while, I have been looking for button-fly jeans. I never had them when the trend was there in my high school years. I scored a pair of them that was heavily discounted. Next to the GAP is LCBO. I ended up getting a vodka soda and an orange creamsi-ale that were nicely chilled for my consumption. You can easily walk the entire mall in a day. I loved being there on a holiday Sunday. I rarely stroll an entire mall these days, as I typically end up broke and sad. The big draw to this mall is the big Sears store, but there were all kinds of others to choose from: Ladies' fashions (Danier, Ardene, le Chateau, etc) and shoe stores like Payless Shoes, and SoftMoc. What a great mall!! A refreshing change from the malls at home.

All boxstores are spread out fairly far apart that it would take some time to walk to each one. I did like this Winners. When I was in high school, I wore a couple of pairs of Tretorn tennis shoes. The problem for me back then was the the largest size that Tretorn made for women was a size 10. I needed a size 11. Instead, I ended up dipping into wearing men's Tretorn shoes. I ended up getting the logo in navy blue and white. Not exciting! My friend and I hit the women's shoe section. She found a cute, glittery pair of boots that fit her perfectly! She found them to be comfortable, even though she wouldn't be caught dead going on a date with them on. I feel that she is my lucky charm whenever we go to a Winners together. I found a fun pair of Tretorns in a size 11. They were patterned and they fit more comfortably than I recall. The footbed is far better than it used to be. I bought them without hesitation. This store is clean, bright, and decent, including the washrooms. The woman who helped me cash out was cheerful and upbeat.There wasn't a huge lineup on a Saturday afternoon. They carry a wide range of quality men's clothing from socks to sweaters to suits to shoes, etc. The diversity of the stock would appeal to a variety of ages. Ryan was extremely knowledgeable but gentle in his approach to sales. We will make the trip from Kingston to The Red Shark in the future based on the quality of the stock and the highly personable service.
