Dr. Schnorbus did a very extensive exam. he discovered I have glaucoma and macular degeneration. He is treating me in the best possible way and checking progress of my eye issues closely. he and his staff are EXCELLENT! Very efficient, courteous and through.

my five-year-old daughter and I went in to have her eyes looked at before she started kindergarten…read more The first two ladies that helped us with the were very good with her and everything in a kid, friendly way so that she would be easier to assess. when we went to see the doctor, however he was very blunt straight to the point didn't really care to explain any of what he was doing and my main concern was when we got to picking colors between red or green, that she didn't know really what she was looking for other than what he had explained of picking which one was "better". This is her first eye exam and I'm not sure that she understood what specifically she was looking for the difference and she primarily chose the same color over and over again and he even stated that she was going in circles. I let the lady know at the front desk and I'm hoping they call back. I'm not too worried about her vision because I've not seen too many issues but just based off of what he was able to tell there was a small prescription, but he said no glasses. I think if he had taken the time to really explain what she was trying to look for and help her understand the difference in what she would be seen we may have gotten different results.

Kelsey answered the phone several times I called. She was so sweet, so patient & very understanding of me getting seen ASAP. She got me immediately. I went Saturday not knowing what to expect due to the experiences I have had at the America's First where i live. I got there a few minutes late, but they still took their time with me. Salina was by far the most thorough opt. technician I have ever dealt with. She triple checked that I could see and that the contacts were comfortable. Kelsey was my check out professional. By far the most patient , kind, and willing to help me in any way in order to get the best price for my entire visit. My insurance was used up due to the previous office but she still helped me sooo much. I could not dare leave there without getting their names to call, cooperate and brag on them because that is how an Eye Doctor's office should treat their patients. Not to mention the manager Caitlyn who came in that evening, actually called to verify my visit was pleasant and everything went smoothly. She was LITERALLY the kindest manager I have spoken with in a long time. I'd take the 30 minute drive for that kind of service any day of the week. Take notes to the other offices who could definitely use another training course on customer service, because Pell City's Americas Best is literally JUST THAT! The BEST! Finally saw Dr. Pickrell and he had it cleared up in like a week, after I've been afflicted by it for like a month. And now after years of needing to wear glasses but not because I absolutely hate them, thanks to this office because I'm such a baby, I am able-ish to put in contacts. Although I've been coming here for at least 15 years, so glad to have found an eye doctor who cares with a really nice staff! Also, don't be daunted by the wait time, he is worth the wait!
