I started the call totally kissing up to them being apologetic and polite and I love you people and I love the police etc. and I felt so bad calling them but I had nothing else left, I was walking alone after dark aimlessly toward a CVS in Rowland heights with my phone totally out of battery, no glasses no car no wallet, to buy a charger which I also was left without on that day. I used my Airbnb hosts' phone to call them (the Airbnb hosts said they didn't have my size charger and were annoyed by my request which I understand), the dispatch person who picked up overheard my Airbnb hosts speak Korean and Chinese in the background, she totally switches up her attitude and starts speaking Chinese to me which was kind of funny to me at first then she says to me "this is America you know" about my problem hinting that it's petty and unserious and unsalvageable which i totally was aware of already, that it could be considered bad for an individualistic society to call for help for something small, but technically in the U.S. the police are supposed to help with small and legal tasks such as flat tires or lost individuals walking around without help. Plus you're not supposed to just knock on anyone's door and ask for help from strangers here you'd get blamed for being stupid if you get kidnapped. And I didn't have my entire wallet and ID on me so I couldn't order anything online either once again my Phone was Out of Battery. The funny thing is I told the dispatch woman i was uncomfortable speaking another language I'd like to speak English with her, she kept speaking Chinese to me insistently. Anyway she refused to help and kept insisting this was a nonissue which I had a feeling they were going to be like that even before I called, which is why I started out so nervous and kissing their ass. Wouldn't it be nice for society if yall helped with tasks that cleared potential hazards, dangers, and problems before they marinated and became huge and lethal problems? It would be nicer than waiting and dealing with sad and dangerous scenes, right? I believe they refuse to listen or be excited by a call unless someone is being harmed already or there's crazy Michael bay movie drama involved. It makes me think, do they truly Want a safe and sound society? Or do they desire unsafety and harm and pain and drama? I ended up knocking on a random person's car to get help to charge my phone then once my phone turned back on I was able to order deliver a charger, once again it would be rude in America to ask my landlords to buy me a free charger, on their phone, I'd need to order form My phone to buy it myself, and once again My Phone Was Dead, and you can't order delivery from a Dead Phone. You need to Think, Listen, and comprehend. I know knocking on a random person's door is frowned upon by their doctrine of don't be stupid and don't give us more work but what other choice did I have at that point? That or I could just give up and die I guess, which would be convenient and wishful for them. Imagine women kids and elderly people with dementia just roaming the streets of LA county alone lost without an idea on what to do and be berated by someone rude and clueless. I just got all three of my vehicles catalytic converter etched today at Calvary Chapel in Diamond Bar. It was super quick and easy. The Sheriff on hand were professional and answered all my questions. I found the event on Eventbrite so I called the Sheriff station to confirm the event was actually going on and how long it would take. When she said it'll take a minute to do I was thinking great I can get all mines done in a jiffy. I'm glad they are doing this preventative measure for the community. read more

I spoke with a sheriff behind the counter trying to get a fix up ticket reduced which was $30. The sheriff was okay at first. Told him my car was outside and parts were removed off my car which was meant for a possible reduction of my ticket. We went back in and then the officer mentioned if I sign this off then it'll be $20. I was like "it's $20?" Walnut / DB Sheriff Officer, "look it's $20, take it or leave it." then abruptly says "if everyone jumped off a bridge would you?" (stupid and inappropriate ignorant comment) A think this officer just told me to kill myself by committing suicide which would technically mean he is guilty of bullying and a lame intimation tactic. All because I refused to pay that $20 for a fix up ticket write off. How can a $30 ticket become a $40 ticket, by not listening to that sheriff station. Obviously their math and scamming methods did not quite work on me. 80% of the time they respond to a crime that has already been committed and show up after the fact. So what are they good for except being a more pain in the a*s by whining when they arrive on scene? read more

Sometimes it's better to walk in instead of calling for any matter. I prefer when they don't use people who fit the look/ profile of a volunteer or intern to staff the counter. Luckily they didn't have anyone tending to anyone in an unbelievable manner, even jokingly, at any time that I have entered. I was surprised at how many times the same deputies were selected to respond to certain locations. I hardly saw the same deputies driving around in the past decade before this one. read more

I live in an apartment complex and according to walnut city law I am not allowed to receive a parking permit because I don't own a house. As you know walnut does not allow for overnight parking between 2am-4am so I have nowhere to leave my car because the apartment complex I live in does not provide enough parking SO I AM LEFT TO CHANCE RECEIVING A TICKET. I am being DISCRIMINATED against for not being able to own a house yet I pay my rent and taxes but people who own houses can freely walk in and get their permits. I was talking to a female officer there (after they had me waiting for 15 minutes because they were just chatting with each other) and was told they can't do anything to help me but as soon as another person walked in they begun to write their permit with no questions asked. read more

Great working Deputies work here. Always there to help the community. I have to keep remembering Deputies are human too, with the same problems we deal with: home life, kids, parents, and so on. If they can't help us, there has to be a reason behind it, maybe they have to follow protocols. I had a great experience here, I love this station, the keep our community safe. read more

I wish I could give 0 stars because of the way a sheriff at the front desk handled my friend, the victim of a recent assault/battery. My friend had called in the same day prior to visiting the department with the okay from someone at the front desk who picked up the call to report a scam Go Fund Me that involved the assaulter with photo EVIDENCE. The woman who had picked up found it important enough to visit the police about it. We arrived and a male officer was at the front. As we confronted him, he rudely said, "We can't do anything about it. It's all on the internet. If you're gullible enough to donate money, that's your fault." Are you kidding me? Then he asked a very rude, condescending question, "Are you college students?" When the victim said yes, he scoffed almost like he shouldn't take her seriously. Very unprofessional. Kept interrupting her repeatedly and rudely saying, "Go to court. Go to court. Go to court." He didn't even try to send us to the sheriff or detective that was handling her case. He also said, "You don't go to us. We go to you. If she assaults you, then call us. But other than that, don't call us for anything else that we can't do anything about." R-U-D-E is all I gotta spell out for a sheriff that couldn't care less about someone who was urgently reporting, afraid of being assaulted again. Don't waste your time here. They don't care, or at least some of them don't care. Better to drive longer away from the local department to be handled as a victim and as someone who is in danger. Update: It's been about 3 months since we've notified the department that the assaulter is back home and they still have never contacted back or given us a heads up on attempt to arrest. If I could give it a negative review I would. I had a very negative experience with one of their patrol officers in the Rowland heights area. That officer was very rude, very unprofessional, narcissistic, talk down to me instead of talking at me, was making assumptions on my behavior calling me aggressive for simply asking questions that related to the matter at hand. I will be going into the office and filing a complaint report on that officer. Now his partner is a different story, his partner was more professional, was more calm and was way more helpful when it came to answering my question. The partner was more willing to work with me in a calm matter while the other officer kept trying brushing me off. I asked the partner to please provide me with both last names and badge numbers because i will be going filing a complaint against the narcissist officer and a commendation report on the partner for talking to me in a professional calm matter despite the rudeness and aggressiveness of his partner. read more

So I went in today to file a police report for a scam at my bank and this one police officer was just being a total asshole to me. And usually I have sympathy for the police because they get so much hate from other society/social media and now I understand why. They're no help to this community. I tried filing a police report and they wouldn't let me unless I had the persons name? If I had the persons name I'd give it but I don't because it was a scam. And then they were like you're not making any sense even though everybody else understood! So anyways I ended up leaving because they were no help. read more

Had a visit from Dep. Martinez, out of possible concern for a family member. Dep. Martinez was the epitome of a peace officer! She was very respectful, informative and provided insight and valuable suggestions. Her experience and, more importantly her concern was evident through out her visit. I am glad she is in our community, it needs this kind of strength and diversity. She is an asset to this department. Sadly, I had a really bad/negative experience a few years ago, so her presence counters it. read more

We appreciate very much the "Vacation Watch" service provided by the Walnut Sheriffs. Our family went on vacation for a month from May to June this year and had notified the Walnut Sherriff Station before we left. The officer that helped us was very friendly. When we came back from our vacation, our neighbors told us that they saw police cars patroling our street during our vacation and also police officers came by and check out our backyard to make sure nothing look suspicious. I have lived for 30 years in Walnut and until lately felt safe. We have a law that no car can park overnight between the hours of 2-4a.m. We have an abandoned car sitting on our street since 12/14 at my 9:30 a.m. I have called the Sheriff's dept. on 12/14 @9:26 p.m., 12/15 @2:30 a.m., 12/16 @2:07 a.m. & 12/17 @ 2:17 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. The deputies have placed parking tickets on the car piling up each night. An officer told me that after 72 hours they would tow the car away. I called after 72 hours as instructed only for the deputies to placed red tag on the car that gives the car 3 more days of illegal parking on the street abandoned! Too many crazy things are going on especially at Christmas time! I called the watch commander this afternoon in which I asked him to tell me where the car is registered. First he hesitated telling me that he was not in front of a computer??? I told him to put me on hold and check. He stated that the car was from Ranch Santa Margarita??? Now I am waiting for a call back because he wants to see if there was a Red tag put on originally which I told him there was not until after 72 illegal hours on the street. I have photographed the car each day and so he won't find anything. This is gross negligence and ignoring laws that have been in place for more than 30 years. The sheriff's department are protecting the wrong people. Need to clean house of the cops who call their own shots ignoring city policies and procedures. No wonder we have more crime in our city these days. read more

Had to visit a friend who got put in for the weekend. It was my first time having to visit someone, and some of workers were very annoyed that I wasn't familiar with the process. Horrible, always arguing saying busy, yet see the officers parked in the shade off of Nogales and Valley or 7/11 on grand near MT SAC while punks are smoking joints across the street by the preschool. When calling to report a crime makes it seem like you are burdening them rather then asking them to do their jobs.
