I traveled to Earthwell Retreat Center, with my family, for a Mindfulness in Nature, special day…read moreevent. We were joined by our host, Charlie Sutherland (teachercharlie.com), and two other families. The retreat center is definitely off the beaten path, with little signage, but that's exactly what I was hoping for. If you plan to visit, expect dirt paths, rustic housing, and composting toilets (the bathrooms were acceptable, especially considering they were basically large outhouses). The property upkeep; I'm specifically speaking of the area near the little green parking lot, which is where we spent the majority of our time; was absolutely beautiful. There was a small swimming pond that my youngest was instantly drawn to; it had a beach, beach dock, floating dock, paddle boards, paddle boat, and canoe available for use. The nature area, surrounding the pond, was partially cleared to make a short, but peaceful walking path. There is another path off to the side that leads to a larger trail, and clearing, if you need more adventure. While we only visited for an event, they do have cabins to rent, community housing, or even areas to pop a tent. As for actual employees of the resort, I did not have the chance to interact with any of them. We only had our guide, Charlie. He was a fantastic mentor for the mindfulness event, easy to talk to, and he offered examples and descriptions, in such a way, even the young children were able to grasp the basics of the concept. We spent the day enjoying the nature area, and discussing the benefits and techniques of mindfulness. As for Earthwell Retreat itself; the property is beautiful and tucked away. It's not an incredibly large acreage of land, but truly feels like a mini nature escape. If you aren't into the more rustic-type adventures though, this place might not be for you. As for us, we quite enjoyed it.

I can't say enough great things about Indian Creek Campground in Tecumseh, Michigan! From the…read moremoment we arrived, the staff made us feel like part of the family. The grounds are immaculately kept, and you can really tell how much pride and care goes into maintaining the place. Our campsite was spacious, shaded, and just a short walk from the camp store--which was a peaceful spot to sit with a cup of coffee in the morning. The kids loved the playground and jump pad, and the terrainables were a huge hit! There was a real sense of community, especially during the themed activities on Saturday night. Bathrooms were some of the cleanest I've seen at any campground, and the camp store had everything we forgot to pack (plus some great ice cream). We even met the owners, who were walking around chatting with guests--super friendly and clearly passionate about what they do. We've already booked another stay for later this summer. If you're looking for a relaxing, family-friendly place to camp with a real personal touch, Indian Creek is the spot. Can't wait to come back!

They have kids games at 11am on Saturdays and hay rides that run in the evenings. If I would recommend any time to go it would be when they are doing their halloween themed weekend. They give away cider and donuts, there is a costume parade followed up by trick or treating, and at night a haunted hayride where the owner made many of his attractions that you will see when on the haunted hayride. A great place to make great memories, I'm forever grateful that my aunt and uncle went here and started a wonderful tradition.

We discussed what kind of diving I wanted to be doing and he helped me pick out the gear that was best suited for my goals. It was really laid-back and stress free. The shop is doing a good job of following Covid best safety practices. The thing that REALLY impressed me was that I was able to get a PRESCRIPTION diving mask on-site that I was able to take home with my same day. I was SO HAPPY about that. I am really looking forward to learning more about this exciting sport!

It's kinda like a KOA in many respects. Staff was easy to get along with, and willing to help as much as they can. We camped there for five seasons and then had to sell our camper. The fishing is very good. My husband caught pike, bass, crappie, and bluegills. The fairgrounds are really close and there is a flea market at the fairgrounds every Saturday morning. The county fair is held every September.
