The channel 20 news is nothing but repeats from the other 2 channels always talking about Champaign/Urbana. What happened to the Springfield area news? If you need to talk about something, do segments on health and well being or something beneficial. I do not need to know the news for a city 90 miles away. Also, the morning news crew is more interesting to listen to than the evening crew. I find I change this station because of lack of local news.

It's become a sport watching for misspellings, poor grammar, and nonsensical writing. WICS news has surpassed bad and moved to the depths of pitiful. How sad that a once decent news station has fallen to such poor excuse for reporting. News? You won't get it from watching this station.

The Ace Sign company has been a Springfield since the late 1800's. They got their start as a hand painted sign company and quickly transitioned to producing the neon signs of America's Golden Age. This space functions as a working sign factory, office, and museum. For a roadside sign to qualify for the museum, it must meet one of three criteria: 1. An Ace Sign production, 2. An original Route 66 roadside sign or 3. Springfield memorabilia. There was so much to see and learn. The museum tour is complimentary and definitely a stop to add to your list of places to visit during your visit to Springfield. Side Note: there is a Route 66 walk through at the State Fairgrounds. Ace Sign put this entire exhibit together. It gives a realistic depiction of the Great Highway.

Unfortunately, my experience with Express Employment Professionals has been anything but…read moreprofessional or fast. It has been disappointing due to issues with pay, communication, retaliation possible discrimination and how my concerns were handled. I accepted a temporary secret shopper assignment that was advertised at approximately $315, including hourly pay and mileage reimbursement. After completing the assignment, I received approximately $215. When I questioned the discrepancy, I was initially told payroll would follow up later. I contacted the client directly, and they confirmed the amount I expected and said they would follow up with Express. Express later gave me conflicting explanations about why I received less. Afterward, I stated that I no longer wanted to continue that specific assignment because the compensation did not align with my expectations. I NEVER said I no longer wanted to work with Express. However, I was later told that their records indicated I no longer wanted to work with them, which I immediately disputed. I also experienced repeated issues with promised callbacks that never happened and difficulty being considered for positions despite having a Finance degree and Microsoft Excel certification. When I found a Finance Assistant position that aligned with my background, I was not given an opportunity to interview. I eventually tried to raise my concerns with management. Instead, Casey called and told me my job search was being put on hold because they could not find employment as quickly as I wanted. That was not my actual concern. My concerns were the pay discrepancy, conflicting information, lack of communication, and how I was being treated after questioning my pay. I felt my concerns were dismissed, and the conversation came across as passive-aggressive and unprofessional. I later attempted to meet with JT, the managing partner, but was told he was not interested in meeting with me because he had already received information from his staff. I was never given the opportunity to provide my side directly. I'm very upset I was not given a chance to express my complaints with the owner, however I appreciate Jerry the most for being respectful, uplifting, and listening to my concerns. Based on the timing of everything, I have concerns about possible retaliation or unfair treatment after questioning my compensation. At minimum, I believe Express could have handled my pay concerns, communication, and complaints much more professionally and transparently. I do believe their staff may be racist, especially since they labeled me "aggressive" when I have been nothing but respectful and professional. If you have the appropriate credentials, and are professional, don't waste your time here, they aren't looking for well-put together & polished employees. They take a percentage from your checks, without notice, and Your concerns may be brushed off.
