    Gum I stepped on

I'm currently on the bus right now, it smells, it's dirty, the seats are torn, and I feel itchy. There's a lady vaping, I stepped on gum and the floor of the bus is wet. I'm afraid I'll get bed bugs. This bus was supposed to arrive at 1:30 but it came at 2:15, I waited outside for an hour. This will be the last time I give them my money. I am extremely disgusted. Please take a look at the pictures.

This sign, in a Wanda Coach bus, doesn't mean, "No watching others take a number two." It means, "Please pee sitting down, gentlemen."
    James H.

The low fares are awesome. And my departure from Norfolk VA was right on time. The bus was empty when I boarded, but I still kicked empty water bottles in the aisle as I picked one of the less-smelly seats. Our driver grunted more than spoke (I didn't really care) and the internet didn't work (I did care). Would I ride Wanda Coach again? Sure. It cost $50 dollars less than Amtrak, and I'm a risk taker. I'll wash my clothes when I get home and be good as new. Plus, I was moved to post my first Yelp review in years! If I can figure out how to add a photo, I'll share a pic of the awesome sign in the bathroom. It took a bit to realize it doesn't mean "No watching people take a number two." It means, "Pee sitting down, gentlemen." Which would be helpful, if everyone obeyed. But what man voluntarily sits on a seat splattered with sticky, it appears, yellow-brown urine? Not this man. Sorry, ladies, truly. I aimed as best I could and would have gladly cleaned the seat after, were there toilet paper. (I couldn't even see where a roll might hang.) If you have $50 to spare, consider Amtrak. But a $26 trip from Norfolk to Washington DC is hard to beat. Just remember the wet wipes.

Me waiting for this fuuking bus, so I can go home and get some rest.
    Erick P.

I am just praying this fuuking bus arrives. It is an hour and a half late. Each time you call the 646-number, a rude speaking lady, answers the phone and says, the bus is late. There is nothing I can do. This was a knee jerk reservation for a friend who was here from SC, in Dc, doing some work. I'm sitting here pissed as shxt. Please never use this service. The train is the same price if you plan and leave around 7:20.

The subway is depending on perspective an arduous task OR a fascinating opportunity to test out your directional and navigational skills. The reality is despite all of its downsides it is generally the fastest and cheapest way to roam NYC. Apple maps makes navigating the MTA transit system a breeze. This was not a social visit and most of my business was in Queens. However, I needed to get a vital record and for that I had to head into Manhattan. Having nothing else to do till I got the death certificate, I decided to make a dry run to figure out where the place was, how to get there, and make sure i could get back to court on time the next day. I was lucky in that I was not heading here during commute times so it went smoothly. It is right under city hall with easy access to the Brooklyn Bridge and other spots in that area. The station was large and as with most on the dirty side. However, its a major hub so there are lots of trains and connections are easy.

Great concept, hit-or-miss execution…read more Let's start with the good: it's free. The Downtown Connection has been serving the community for over 20 years, and it remains NYC's only free circulator bus. It's a good resource for connecting Lower Manhattan and Battery Park City. The buses run daily from 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., each bus seats about 22 people, and they're easy to spot thanks to that bright red branding. There is, however, room for improvement. They claim to have an updated tracking system with real-time maps and apps for iPhone/Android, but in my experience, the tech doesn't always match reality. The biggest frustration? I've had drivers cruise right past me while I was standing at a designated stop. I'm not sure if they're just trying to stay on schedule, but it defeats the purpose of a commuter service. Bottom line: If you can actually catch one and the driver is willing to stop, you certainly get your money's worth. Just don't count on the GPS being 100% accurate.

It was habit for me to accept the brochure out of politeness, in case I might change my mind about visiting, and the idea that it is easier for me to read a piece of paper sometimes than trying to navigate a phone browser or phone app where something might not sync up because of bad connection or bad programming. Usually, it's the bad programming that gets me more than anything. At the same time, something is better than nothing at all though, right? I am thankful to save a few steps along my route.

I liked the foot rest and the hook on the handle on the seat in front of me. Trash bags were hung here and there. The transmission was bad, the alignment and suspension were shot, and the bathroom door did not latch. The transmission could not maintain speed on inclines, making the journey slow and stressful for everyone on board. The windshield wipers were so worn they could barely clear rain from the windshield (a serious safety hazard). Overhead storage bins would not latch, risking items falling on passengers, and the lighting inside most of them did not work. The spare tires were stored in a luggage compartment and had dangerously little tread remaining. We paid Rally/OurBus for what we were promised would be a newer luxury coach with ample luggage space and modern amenities. Instead, we got an old bus with no electrical outlets, damaged seat upholstery, and a bathroom that reeked before a single passenger had even used it. They sent us a vehicle that should not be in passenger service. When we sought a refund, we were bounced between Rally/OurBus (the broker) and All Aboard Express (the bus company), and now neither company will return our calls.
