I took my husband's tux here with his undershirt. I went to pick it up and they only gave me the two pieces of the tux without the shirt. I very politely asked about the shirt and was trying to figure out what happened, and instead of trying to figure it out with me, the man was incredibly rude and told me to get out of his store and never come back. Who the hell treats a customer like that? Let alone another human being? No apology, no concern, no trying to figure out what happened or trying to look for it. So so rude. Do not go here. read more

They took my dress for 2 weeks to take it in and I went to go pick it up and the needles were still in the same spot they placed them. I've been very disappointed the last couple times I have gone in because they did not do what I asked them for a couple of my clothes and they still charged me full price for everything without any compensation or even an apology. read more

This place is awful! I took items there and was told it would be 2-3 weeks for them to be done. After 5 days I decided I wanted to pick them up and take them somewhere else because I didn't want to wait. I went to get them and was told they were actually done. I paid and took my items home. Upon seeing their work, I was appalled. I could have done the same level of work at home on my own sewing machine. I reached out to the store and they won't reply or acknowledge me in any way. I took my items to another tailor/seamstress and they were appalled by the poor work. As am I. I would never recommend this place. Their customer service is atrocious. Their work is awful. I cannot believe how bad my experience was, especially given their reviews. Awful. Do not recommend. read more

Needed cups placed in a bridesmaid dress and a hem. Expressed concern day of initial consultation that they looked "lumpy". Reassured they would be fine. Do not work whatsoever when I come to pick up the dress, 1 week out from wedding. Cups haphazardly ripped out including not taking care of residual threads in the dress top, and in process of manipulation to decide next possible options the hook and eye in back and thread holding top portion of dress together both loosened. The "steaming" of the dress is subpar. Back to square one and refunded $20 out of $100. read more

They did such a great job, i was concerned at first because it is lace & i was worried about the cuts & stich lines but they were invisible & the lace was still in perfect condition. I dropped off 2 yards of material to get customized into curtain panels, along with two other curtains to be hemmed. I dropped off the materials on April 12. Initially, when I called for the quote over the phone, Wanda told me it would be ready by April 27. I arrived that day and then she quoted me May 1. I waited patiently and didn't hear anything about my order. I called a couple days before the first to see if it would be ready and she said "maybe". She told me to call on that Saturday, May 1. I did and it wasn't ready. She told me it would be ready on Monday, because she's so "backed up on work". SIDEBAR: if you're so backed up on work you should tell your clients a realistic date or tell them that you're unable to take any more orders temporarily. Today (May 3), I called to make sure it was ready and she said no. She said she just started to measure the fabric and it's not enough material. 2nd SIDEBAR: Wow Wanda! If I knew I didn't have enough material, which I was going off from what the ladies at Joanne fabrics told me would be enough with my measurements, I would've went back to Joannes and purchased some more material and brought it back to her, therefore it could be ready by today. Wanda then proceeded to call me two times after I told her I was coming to pick up my fabrics. She said she could make four out of the five panels. That wasn't good enough! She could've prepped this order a long time ago and this wouldn't be a problem. If she would of been honest with her service, this wouldn't be a problem. She's not an honest lady! I was a first time customer. I have so many other items that needs work and she could've made some serious cash with my clothing. She wasted my time and patience. I highly recommend you to AVOID HER BUSINESS. read more

Wanda is amazing. My family has been coming to her for at least 15 years, and she never disappoints. I moved to Chicago recently, and my friend and I needed our bridesmaids dresses altered for a wedding. I was SO nervous to go to anyone besides her, but I was coming in on Wednesday, and the wedding was Saturday. I called and asked, and she told me she would be able to alter our dresses when we got back to MI, and could do both in 2 days. There were spots on the dress from something that had to do with the fabric and she really took her time and tried to get all of them out for me. I've been getting items altered by Wanda since before my bat mitzvah 10 years ago. She always done a wonderful job. Most recently I came in to get a lace gown hemmed to be a knee length dress. I had forgotten to tell her I wanted to keep the beading at the bottom of the dress, and I came to pick it up, and the dress had been altered to keep the beading at the bottom. Last year I had some hand knit items for me nieces that needed fleece lining and some embroidered embellishments sewn on for my 2 nieces. The stitching was impeccable (although she had added the lining on the wrong side of one of the ear warmers, but still it came out great). Knowing that she would so a wonderful job, I went back with a hand knit cable hat I had made for my sister who said the wool was itchy, so I decided to line it with fleece for her. I took it in on a Thursday and was told she was extremely busy (which was completely evident upon entering the store) and that I should call the following Thursday to see if it was done. I was in no rush at the time, so I did just that...I called the following Thursday and was told it wasn't done, but it should be done by Saturday. I went in on Saturday to be told it was not done and to come back Tuesday...at this point I was in a bit of a rush to have it mailed off for my sister. I called on Tuesday to be told it will be done Wednesday. I understand that she is busy, and maybe fleece lining a hat is trivial an item for her, but I WENT back to her establishment because of the stitching she had done for me previously, and I'm sorry but I come from the mindset that no job is small or trivial, and no one person's business is more important than another persons. I too work in a highly demanding field where I know I can't just repeatedly tell people...'I couldn't get to it'. This was beyond ridiculous in my opinion. She didn't even have the courtesy to apologize...it was just a matter of fact statement..."I didn't get to it... ".By no means am I a demanding person, and each time she told me it wasn't ready, I simply said 'Okay, when can I expect it to be ready?', and politely smiled and thanked her for her time. When she was finally able to finish the lining, it was absolutely the WORST stitching I had ever seen. You could tell it was a rush job, done to be done without a single care about whether it was done well or not. Honestly, if I knew it was going to done so poorly, I would have saved myself some money and done it myself. It was a complete 180 degrees from the previous lining she had done from me in the past. It was more than obvious she did not care. I was respectful of her time, but felt I was not extended the same courtesy. This is very disappointing, especially from a business that I believe relies on the goodwill of past customers who would recommend her services to friends and family. I know I have told quite a few people that she would be a good person to take alterations or stitching needs to... but I don't think I will be in the future. I honestly can say I will not be returning to her for anything else, because customer service is everything to me and when you don't get that, I don't see any reason to return. read more
