After my appointment, I received a letter in the mail with a synopsis of my appointment and her suggestions to help with the health concerns I had. She said she had tried to call, but couldn't reach me and wanted to make sure she followed up. I was so impressed by this gesture. I have never had a doctor send me a letter in the mail. I will surely be back and am glad to have such a caring doctor!

I made an appointment for an annual wellness check, made it clear on the phone, made it clear again to the nurse and doctor during my appointment, but ended up with a bill for something else when it was suppose to be free. Efforts to rectify it were futile as they flat out lied to my insurance company. I find it hard to believe that the three employees I interacted with made no mention in their notes of my direct answer to their direct question asking for the reason for my appointment. Wait times are incredibly long- I waited over an hour past my scheduled appointment before I was seen. I am definitely switching to a new provider.

I've heard lots of good things about Dr. Bernard, so I switched to her recently. I went in for a routine visit, and the visit ended up getting canceled as I arrived because of a delivery. I stuck around, hoping someone would see me, and she was able to come back (even though she didn't have to). My appointment did not go as planned and even though it was a morning appointment, she ended up staying after 5pm to do additional testing and come up with a plan. She took my situation very seriously and got me in to surgery that same week. After surgery she took time to go over everything with me and explained everything in greater detail than I typically get. At every interaction, she went above and beyond.

The rating is only a three because she tends to want to "try out the latest thing" on you, without really understanding it. Here is what I mean: I went to see her with some shoulder pain. She had just returned from a conference in Las Vegas and she got excited and told me she had just the thing. She did not touch my shoulder or arm. She took some kind of device and thumped it very hard on my collar bone. Then she showed me how to do it myself. It hurt a little, but much of the chiropractic work does hurt a little at first. I had to travel to Montana the next day. I did the thumping thing several times as instructed during the next couple of days and only served to make my collar bone sore along with my shoulder. I ended up going to see a masseuse in Montana. With just a quick look at my range of motion, she dug into my shoulder, found a knot and rubbed it out. Because of that experience, I didn't go back to see Dana. She found out from someone else later why I didn't come back and sent me an odd letter telling me how disappointed she was with me ... this virtually guaranteed I would never return.

ALLY was next, and with her great sense of humor, took my vitals. And if you aren't a Chiefs fan, beware!! As a dedicated family, they all are!!! Then TASHA went over my info before DR. TUNGESVIK came in. I was surprised, too, at the consideration and amazing knowledge someone so young as Dr T already had. I won't say I'm well versed in cancer, but I did work in cancer statistics for a few years; went through my besties cancer journey at University and Siteman (she didn't survive); watched my parents go through two cancers each; and almost everyone on both sides of my family had cancer before 60. So I can honestly say I know that whatever comes down in the form of a negative diagnosis, I'll beat it because of this team. When you walk the clean, bright halls, you are surrounded by colorful, positive and empathetic pictures making you feel superhuman, or a cancer conqueror, too. While I was waiting (extremely nervous) an older man sitting next to me told me it would be all right. I was so touched that he took the time to notice how scared I was and to talk to me. A snack lady came by to see if we needed anything. All the patients were kind to each other. Can't say that at too many places:) You would think you'd feel like an assembly line but nope. The sense of humor, the reality of it all about life's craziness, the TIME THEY TAKE TO CARE made me feel so comfortable and not nervous anymore!! I really wish my bestie had MO Cancer Associates on her side when she was diagnosed. I'm sure she'd still be here.... The reception area is well staffed and comfortable with the scheduling areas located near the exit instead of right at the front door. I am especially impressed with the chemotherapy suite which is bright with sunlight and cheerfully decorated. Patients receive chemotherapy in recliners spread around the room, which is divided into sections to create a more intimate environment. Friends and family are welcome to attend chemo sessions with patients and the nursing staff goes to great length to make the patients and families comfortable.
