There are two parking lots…read moreand a barn-like white building that is not the funeral home, I'm guessing they store their hearses in there? It's the nicer building across the street. Solemnly walked up the steps and was greeted by a host. I gave the last name and he instructed me where to go. Looks like they have a few decently sized rooms. Signed the welcome book and entered the room straight to the back. As you can imagine there was a coffin in the back of the room, rows of chairs, a couple couches, those bronze hand things to hold Mass cards... Flowers etc. Looked like a nice place, comfortable and solemn feeling. I said my condolences and got out of dodge because dead bodies in a room seem weird to me. When I left the host said something pleasant, but I said, "have a nice day" and bee lined. If this is your last stop, and your family wants to traditionally display you while they hover around... I'd consider this place. Grief isn't a laughing matter, and these people seem Professional and well versed in how to handle these situations, unlike myself.

The time of entombment is especially stressful for those in mourning so hearing comforting words from a spiritual leader is essential to help mourners grieve. I have never been to a service without clergy present. The family was in shock over the passing of their church-going, fiercely faithful matriarch. We were so surprised the clergy was absent. From what we observed, it wasn't a full house at the funeral home so why was your coordinator filling in for the clergy? Shouldn't you, as the orchestrator of this funeral service, ensure there is proper closure for a loyal parishioner and long-time member of the community? The fill-in failed at offering the family those words of comfort they needed to hear today. Furthermore, my child had to correct her on the pronunciation of the deceased name. Attention to details matter. But most important, a proper sendoff of the deceased is expected. I tried to send an email to you directly because I think the family deserves an apology. But I couldn't find one. So no. Not all of this service met the expectations as you described. And when your name is on the building, it is your responsibility to attend to every detail with precision, professionalism and excellence. That final part leaves the wrong impression for a grieving family gathered together for comfort, compassion and closure.

My dad passed away suddenly and my sister and I didn't think we'd be able to gather our wits and find the strength to plan a funeral service that would properly honor him. But from the very first meeting with Vito, and throughout the entire process - the O'Shea team went above and beyond to support and guide us with the utmost professionalism, patience, and compassion. In addition to the kindhearted and attentive staff, the facilities were beautiful, spacious and immaculate - and even included thoughtfully placed tissues, hand sanitizers, and water bottles. There were plenty of tables for flowers and picture frames, as well as 2 large screens for picture slide shows. Most importantly, my dad was treated with incredible dignity and respect. The makeup and preparation on my dad was wonderful - he looked so natural and at peace. And it was very important for us that the casket remain open at all times, which Vito made sure happened. Vito and Kevin also made a point of being at the church service and ensuring that everything went smoothly. We were extremely moved and grateful when Vito stopped the hearse (as we were following it on the way to church) and placed 3 roses on the front stoop of my parents' home. Special touches like this meant the world to us during this incredibly difficult time, and the overall attention to detail exceeded our expectations. Thank you, O'Shea, for everything. Totally odd for me to think to check in at a funeral home, but totally felt compelled to after…read moretoday's visit for a totally deserving and super amazing fella that truly lived a good life. This location was easy to find and had street and parking lot options to choose from. Personally opted for street as I knew I was running in for only a bit. The lot didn't seem that big, and in my mind save it for the family that is there the entire time. Location like many others was clean and conformable upon entry. Even the restroom (universal for all) was super clean and kept up well. What I found unique and different at this location which compelled me to post a review, was that eventhough not a mega sized locations with multiple rooms (in use at same time, usually), this one seemed very personal able, and have a second floor (basement level), which was a playroom type of space for kids. That's right...no fear parents of dreading to bring your little ones with you to say your goodbyes, as they can be brought in to see family and then escorted downstairs to ride out the time you want to stay and be with family safety. I thought this to be pretty different and unique. Who knows maybe other locations have something similar and I never noticed, but this time totally jumped out at me as being totally note worth.

We spent hours going through all of the details and not once did we feel rushed or that we were just another customer. Vito truly listened to us and helped us make some decisions we were not sure about and pointed us in the right direction with certain things. He explained everything thoroughly and I cannot recommend them enough. They did such an incredible job on everything. Very detail orientated and made sure to check all the boxes so there were no surprises or missing information so that way this transition period was as smooth as possible. The wake was extremely hard to get through as expected but the whole staff was extremely nice and accommodating. I noticed that the prayer cards had run out and one of the staff was nice enough to bring me into the office to grab more and let me choose which one I wanted since I didn't have a chance to pick one out. I chose the one with flames and an eagle since I know that would have been my father's choice. A++ stand up staff that goes above and beyond and is an absolute pleasure to deal with.
