I love Warby Parker as a brand. Their store is simple and chic. Their glasses are affordable, they have many options, and you can try on anything on in store. I've been going to their different locations for years including this one. This visit had poor customer service however and I will not be going to this spot again. No one greeted me and I was in the store for about 30 minutes and it was not crowded. I purchased 2 pairs of glasses and had to approach the worker myself as well as ask her about their current promotion. The other two staffers on the floor joked and laughed at something they were viewing on a tablet almost the whole time. Not the customer service this place used to be. Try the Cherry Hill or Ardmore location. Much better service. Hoping this was an off day for them. 3 stars is mostly for product and store layout. read more

Quite possibly the worst customer service experience I've had in years. I went into the store specifically planning to purchase a glasses/sunglasses combo -- not to browse, not to kill time. Despite that, I received zero help. No welcome, no questions about what I was looking for, no explanation of options. The overall attitude ranged from indifferent to openly unfriendly. When a customer walks in ready to spend money and walks out frustrated, that's not a pricing problem -- that's a service problem. I went to this site in late July because of headaches, got a new prescription and ordered two pairs of glasses. I was told that a trial set of contacts would be sent to me soon after. Almost 3 weeks later I still haven't gotten the trial set and one of the pairs of glasses arrived with completely wrong frames and prescription. I was told I would get $ back, which never arrived. I came in for an adjustment on a pair of glasses I'd ordered online from another store after having an eye exam to get my prescription at Warby Parker. The guy at the counter proceeded to make a big show out of how impossible it would be for him to adjust these glasses because they were not made out of Warby Parker's definitively higher quality acetate. I had a sense this would be a bad experience after seeing the way he handled the woman in line ahead of me - she had also come in for an adjustment and just asked how she can protect the coating on the lens from breakdown. He decided to launch into weird rant about how so many women come in asking about this and how the breakdown is their fault because of all the make up they wear. I've been wearing glasses for over 20 years and have to get new glasses yearly because of a congenital eye condition. I've never had any store turn me away for a free adjustment nor be so weird and rude. So thanks for that, guess I'll look elsewhere. read more

I've been a client with Warby Parker for close to four years now, and whether it's coming in to look at glasses and being able to try them on, and when I had to have my examination and being reminded that my prescription is expired and need to be renewed, I always am satisfied. They kindly allow me to come in randomly one day and tighten my glasses, free of charge and when I asked if I can have a new glasses case because I somehow damaged mine, as well as telling them I'd pay for it because it was my fault, I was kindly given it for free. Tyler, who assisted me today was so informative and helped me with choosing the frames that complimented my facial structure, and was so patient. Stopped in on our way out of Philly. Great atmosphere, welcoming and diverse staff. The shop doesn't seem quite large enough for the volume of customers browsing the frames. However there were plenty of options available and with clever maneuvering, we were able to look at a majority of the frames. Great customer service. I was looking for a pair of glasses that I learned are now discontinued. After describing the frames (a difficult task) when considering how many of their frames are somewhat similar in design, the young lady guessed the correct frame and researched to determine if it can still be ordered. She explained that they can be ordered directly through the store and to give them a call back once ready. Getting my eyes checked ASAP and ordering the discontinued frames. I highly recommend the Warby Parker in Philly. Way better than doing the at home trials too! read more

Decided to try this company out this time around for my glasses. I had just gone to my eye doctor so I had my script with me. Everyone who asked me if I needed any help was super nice. The store is nice and clean and very easy to see the frames and try them on. When I decided on the frames I'd wear every day and frames for sun glass Alvin helped me by inputting everything in their system and placing my order. So, I confess that I am not the easiest person to fit eyeglasses for, needing progressive bifocals with an astigmatism correction, a bit of a narrow nose and umm, a little bit of a frame snob, haha! I kept waiting to write this review in case I decided to return these glasses too as I am a bit particular, but I ended up liking them! I was a bit skeptical of going to Warby as I used to go to the expensive boutiques for my glasses, I tried that and I didn't have as good results as Warby, more snobby people and more defective glasses at one other place, lol... so my family and friends highly suggested Warby! I was really impressed with not only how friendly everyone is here but how they seemed to organize the multiple eyeglass prescriptions and then when one didn't work out, they exchanged them, very few questions asked, no hassle, just trying to make me happy... yeah, well I thought that was great because a former eye doctor definitely batted his eyes at that, haha and gave me a really hard time! I tried a bit of a different frame than what I am used to, I originally went with Amelia which are beautiful frames but they were too big for me, so they I went with a smaller version of Amelia, Turner, I think...and for the most part, I really like them! They're kind of a bit of a statement eyeglass piece, a bit of a bold tortoiseshell compared to my old frames that were more nonchalant... but these are more fun and attention grabbing, and they definitely go well with my darker blouses and my hair... So, am I fan of Warby's? Definitely! I am more than anything a fan of the professionalism, the courtesy and how they really seem to care about pleasing their customers. Of all of the Warby Parker stores that I have been to (including the flagship stores in NYC), this is by far my favorite location. The staff is super helpful and I never feel rushed. During COVID, I came with near-broken glasses due to a fall (thanks Philly sidewalks), and after a back and forth with the online customer service agents about my options, I came to the store to see if they could help. I honestly couldn't be happier with all of my experiences with Warby Parker, even before they opened this flagship store and they simply had wall space in Old City's Art In The Age Of Mechanical Reproduction. I've been a huge fan since the very beginning and was so thrilled when they opened this fab first store! I love everything they are, and everything they stand for. I love supporting local businesses especially ones whose mission is not only to give back (for each pair bought, one is given to someone in need in over 50 plus countries), but who wanted to make affordable, fashionable eyewear which until Warby, I believe, was somewhat of an oxymoron. *I must note the guys behind Warby are 4 Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania students who were sick of astronomical prices people were charging for glasses. Word has it they actually asked their professor to back them. He said "no" and has since been interviewed stating he regrets that decision. Obvi. The advantage of actually heading to this clean, well and clearly merchandised store with a mural painted by a local Philadelphia artist, is the customer service. The employees are hip and knowledgeable, and certainly passionate about this brand. They will properly fit you and order your set from their tablet. It's soooo easy! The glasses then get shipped right to your house! No charge! It's all so stress free! Don't forget to bring your prescription in or simply take a photo and upload it yourself to your Warby account. I've stopped in for re-adjustments each time before I travel, and for extra cleaning cloths too. I have always been welcomed warmly and felt so happy about solely choosing this brand to wear on my face daily. There's a style for everyone here and I love that many are unisex! They also have a section for employee picks which rotates and is always fun to browse! My personal go-to over the years have remained "Finch". They're "naughty librarian sexy". They have a slight cat eye and are perfectly somewhere between a round and an oval shape. Very unique shape! I go for the Violet Magnolia shade which is tortoise with hints of blue. Definitely something I've never seen before! I get soooooooo many compliments on these glasses and while the other styles, each with a quirky name are also amazing, I keep coming back to my trusty ole "Finch". My sunglasses are their aviators called Dempsey in the brushed gold. They're so classic and timeless. THEE perfect sunglasses, in my opinion. No issues getting my prescription placed into these also. Warby offers a one year warranty on lenses. The only issue I had over the years was with the protective coating. I wore them in the ocean (my bad) and I believe the salt water left spots. A employee also told me to be careful with hairspray and perfumes...just a heads up. If you take care of your frames and love them just as I do, just get your lenses switched out for a discounted price when you have a new prescription! The glasses are all made with the highest quality materials, newest environmentally friendly materials, are all 100% UV safe and extremely durable. If you can't make it in to the store, just hop online, choose 5 pairs they'll send you FREE, pick your fave, send them back, upload your prescription and they'll send you your selection promptly. Again, so easy. I love, love, love Warby and so does my wallet! I don't see me going anywhere, like ever. What's not to love? Price, doing good, supporting local, looking fashionable! I agree with another review down below: DO NOT buy glasses here if you have really bad vision. I bought frames here and after I started wearing them, my eyesight got even worse. After researching online, I found that it's because for particular bad eyesight, the lenses need to be more precise and customized. Warby Parker just isn't the place for that. I also made the mistake of spending $100 extra on the lens thinning and it ended up being just as thick as without. I tried to return the frames but the sales clerk in store tried to convince me that it was due to the shape of the frames I had picked out, yet when I was previously buying the frames they said it wouldn't be an issue. The frames here look good but they just aren't suitable if you actually have bad eyesight. read more

A Terrible Experience with Warby Parker I ordered a pair of sunglasses on June 25th and paid for them. About 3 weeks later when I hadn't heard anything I stopped back at the store on Walnut street in Center City Philadelphia and asked. The clerk was visibly annoyed when I asked if she could check on the status of my order and kept saying that I should just wait until I got the email saying the glasses were ready. She eventually went and said she would go check and came back and said everything was fine and that I would get an email when the glasses were ready. I regularly checked the app and my account and it kept telling me that the order had been placed. I finally talked to customer service today (nearly two months after the "order was placed") only to learn that they had not managed to get my prescription from my doctor and that I would need to contact them. No email, nothing in the app, even visited the store and somehow no one managed to let me know that they hadn't been able to get my prescription. So it turns out that they never actually placed the order (they did manage to charge my credit card and still trying to get that refunded)--although the app says "order placed." I visited the store twice, checked the app over and over and nothing. When were you going to tell me that you needed my prescription? And why haven't you refunded my money? All in all, a terrible experience. read more

I went in hoping to get some cute frames. The sales woman was so rude AND wrong! She said my script was too strong for all of the frames I picked so I left. I went to a more upscale eye glasses place and they said that wasn't true. I later read online that the Warby Parker lenses they use just don't work well with stronger prescriptions. But she was rude from start to finish. Rather than stoop to her level I left the store and went elsewhere. read more

They are cleaning any frames after you try them on: very aware of current CDC recommendations. I was able to get my current pair of glasses adjusted, as the hinge screw was failing. I'm so confused. The lady who helped me place my order in-store was really helpful, but then I ran into some issues providing an updated glasses prescription later on and was hoping to just out-right purchase the frame today. The plan was to just wear these occasionally with my contact lens in the meantime until my next glasses exam was covered by my insurance around next year and then have the lens swapped. The same lady that helped me place the order the first time was there and after asking for some assistance, she was quite rude. I've never had an issue with swapping lens out of a frame before, but this notion seemed to raise an issue for her. I just wanted to order the frames in case they were no longer offered in the future..why is it an issue to swap out lens in an existing frame? People do it all time. I did not feel anymore informed or relieved..I actually feel a little discouraged from entering the store in the future. read more

I just had the loveliest experience here! My boyfriend's glasses broke and we're going on vacation tomorrow so I popped in with them to see if anything could be fixed or replaced. They asked when he had purchased and when I told them February the very nice staff member said "this absolutely shouldn't have happened we'll get them fixed right away!" The optometrist gave me a few options (sending them out to get entirely new lenses/frames or just new frames from the store) and was able to pop out the lenses and put them in new frames within a few minutes. AND they told me about the one-year scratch free warranty (which I guess wasn't conveyed when my boyfriend bought them online idk) so that's a real game changer as well. Everyone was just so polite and helpful, I can't say enough good things! read more

If you have serious myopia or vision problems, do NOT buy glasses here. If you have mild vision impairment and only need reading glasses, my review probably does not apply to you. Essentially, I was referred to Warby Parker (Penn student company) by a Scheie Eye Institute (Penn student) doctor. (See my last review - never go to Scheie). Like most Penn businesses, the 'secret to their success' is outsource everything to China. WP lens are made of the some cheapest glass available for glasses lenses, and are not appropriate for people with moderate to severe myopia. I was referred there by a doctor, who gave me a badly mistaken prescription, so I don't entirely blame WP for how awful my glasses But an honest business would never have sold me those lens. The salesman at the shop did express some reservations about filling my prescription, he said the lens would be thicker than the frames, but he was too good of an employee to not let his company cheat me out of $100. The glasses I purchased gave me bad headaches. When I went to a new doctor I was told it was partly my prescription being off and partly the lens not being high quality enough for my type of vision impairment. They ended up in the garbage bin and I will never return. To WP, I would ask, if someone brings you a prescription your lens are not capable of appropriately filling, do not just take their money: politely tell them they should go somewhere else. I'm suuuper picky when it comes to shopping for eyeglasses. I tend to have the worst luck when finding the *perfect* pair. In the past, almost all my eyeglass frames fit terribly on my face. And despite visiting multiple optometrists for glasses adjustments, my frames never sit right on my face. This year, I decided to treat myself to a new pair from Warby Parker. I did take advantage of their home try-on program in the past, but never found pairs that looked good with my face. Thank goodness a Warby Parker store opened up in Center City a while ago, because when I visited, I found a pair I liked that actually wasn't offered for home try-on. The frames are actually very affordable compared to my most recent pair (only $175 for the frames and high-index lenses, versus the +$400 pair I bought at my regular optometry shop). Even though they were shipped to the store relatively quickly (around 7 days), having to wait for them to arrive was the worst!!! Nevertheless, it was really easy for me to visit the store and have them adjusted by the optician. It's only been a day as of now since I've started wearing these new frames, but I love them so far! I think they flatter my face really well, and despite the high quality of the lenses and frame, they feel very lightweight. I can see myself coming back if I'm in the mood for another pair of glasses, though one downside is that despite all the options they have, it's still hard to find a frame that looks go *Updated: it's been about a month since having my frames. While I initially had a really good experience ordering them and getting them adjusted, I feel like everything went downhill. Long story, the nose pads on my first pair were defective, which meant that my frames weren't feeling or sitting comfortably on my nose. So I came back a week after my order to have them fixed. The person helping me at the time was nice about giving me a new frame, and she adjusted the nose pads for me. But after that adjustment, the left nose bridge got super loose - to the point where it felt like the entire nose piece was going to break off. I came back to the store again to have it checked out, but this time, the guy helping me out wasn't as gentle with handling the new frames. When he tried to replace the sample lenses with my prescription, he really manhandled the frames and bent them out of shape... then PROCEEDED to continue using that frame to replace my second pair. Despite making adjustments to bend the frame back into place, I was VERY disappointed, because it was hard at that point to find a good fit. I tried to request if he could have someone else help me, because I hated the way he was trying to re-bend new frames, but he refused, saying it was "the best he could do." (I DEFINITELY did not have this same experience when I had the other lady help me replace my frames during the second visit.) Now, even though this third pair looks like it's sitting ok on my face, the fit still seems off. It feels like I just got another "broken pair." I'm sad to say how upset I am with having to go back repeatedly for adjustments, but at this point, I'm not sure what else I can do. :( read more

I have about 4 pairs of WP frames now. I don't know if other people have this problem, but I am someone who grows to hate the glasses I originally liked over time for no clear reason (probably cause I just hate wearing glasses in general.) WP makes it affordable enough for me to just get a new pair when I start to hate or destroy mine! Lol. I was initially concerned about quality but my optometrist (unaffiliated) told me I'm a great candidate for a company like WP. My eyesight isn't the worst, but it's bad enough that I have to wear glasses out of the house. The staff at this location have always been friendly and will answer any questions you have. I like how they don't bombard you while you try on glasses, but if you ask for their opinion on how they fit, they'll give you a honest opinion :) There is always a lot of staff on the floor so I don't have to wait too long if I want to order something. The glasses come delivered to your door, and it usually seems to come earlier than the expected delivery time! read more

After seeing so many friends wearing stylish Warby Parker frames, I finally decided to try them out for myself! The new Walnut Street location is not only super convenient, but very functional as well! The store is large with lots of mirrors and multiple pairs of each frame so that even when it's busy, you have space to shop and try on everything you want! They have a wide variety of frames to choose from. All frames are clearly labeled with a name as well as a fit, making it easy to browse for your own preference. The store is well-staffed with knowledgeable people who seem to have a good sense so when to leave you to trying out frames and when to offer help. I did have to visit twice because they forgot to measure me they first time. They did offer to measure me using their electronic system, but after a couple failed attempts I just returned to the store. Aside from this minor hiccup, the checkout process was quick and easy! The measuring process is very quick and my frames arrived in the mail within the week! I think my favorite aspect of this store is the large variety of frames available at very affordable prices. I would definitely return to purchase another pair of glasses or sunglasses in the future! read more

Well I am very impressed. I was going to visit their Old City location a few years ago and waffled. Recently, my eyesight changed a lot and I was thrilled to find they now have this Center City location with in-house vision exams. Being twenty years older than most of the staff there, I'm still getting used to the friendly millennial greetings, "You look awesome in your new glasses", "Have an awesome day" treatment. But hey, I'll take that over unfriendliness any day of the week. Speaking of that, if you are greeted and then left alone to look at frames, you would do well to interpret that as a feature and not a bug. If you want help, step up and ask for help. You will be helped! Everything went smoothly for me, from scheduling an eye health test/ vision exam to picking up my glasses (which they will also ship to you if you prefer). Dr Liew was very professional and answered all my questions. The salespeople are great. My glasses and prescription sunglasses were ready when they told me they'd be ready, and you get an email alerting you to their readiness if you choose to pick them up at the store. Optometrist was great, even though my frames didn't need any adjustment. I had a question about why I didn't have my eyes dilated during the exam which I sent in by email, and Dr Liew answered in fewer than ten minutes time! Price was fantastic. I really can't think of anything bad to say. I heard about Warby Parker because I am a fan of Harry's shaving products, and they share a founder with Warby. So, if you're a guy or a bearded lady, I guess I'm shilling for them, too. Both stores offer good value. At least, that was my experience. read more

I've heard some great things about Warby Parker (heard their founders speaking at commencement at Wharton, etc), so was excited to go in and check it out for myself. It's a beautiful store with wonderfully laid out products, but the buck stops there. My partner and I were treated terribly by two associates who could have been LESS interested in helping us find frames. The disinterest was evident even when I opted to buy the frames (bc they were to our liking), and the associate tossed my credit card over on the table as she went about her super important task on her iPad. I don't know if it's a sales baiting tactic to seem aloof and completely blasé about someone's purchase, but I will not be shopping here again. TL;DR, awful service. This was my first Warby Parker experience and I have to say I'm pretty impressed. The decor is very hipster-library and the staff definitely fit the bill. I was greeted when I walked in the door then left alone to try on glasses. The sales associates were not pushy/annoying at all, but were very informative and helpful when I asked them questions. They carry A LOT of glasses (slightly overwhelming, but better than too few). I spent about an hour trying on different frames before I settled on a pair. I had my prescription with me so the sales associate just entered the information from my prescription into his tablet and measured the distance between my eyes. He placed my order within five minutes and had the glasses shipped to my apartment (no shipping fee). I didn't get any special lenses, so my total was only $95, which just about what I would have spent elsewhere with my insurance, so I can't complain. I received my glasses in less than a week, but they were a little wide so I brought them back to the store to get adjusted. The adjustment was quick and easy, and my glasses now fit perfectly. My SO and I came to Warby to buy prescription frames after realizing that, even with insurance money, glasses from most traditional stores would probably end up being comparable in price. Everyone at the store was really helpful, and someone was always on hand for advice/to offer assistance finding a good fit. I ended up buying the "Milton's" which are an extremely lightweight titanium for $145 all inclusive, and my SO bought the Watts for $95. They arrived within a week and a half, and we're planning on bringing them back to the store tomorrow for a free adjustment. I'm really happy with my glasses, and I highly recommend at least browsing the store before committing to a pair elsewhere. read more

They quickly fell out of alignment (they're not high end glasses), and I was stalling on getting them adjusted elsewhere. Then I saw on instagram that this store was opening! I can't say enough about Warby Parker and I highly recommend them to anyone in the market for glasses. I hadn't had my eyes checked in a while so I made an appointment with their on-site optometrist, Dr. Liew. She was one of the nicest and most professional eye doctors I've ever encountered (she even took me in 30 minuets before my scheduled appointment). WP has a terrific selection of frames, and they definitely skew towards the thick rimmed hipster style. Their sales associates are all kind and professional, and eager to give advice, take measurements, etc. The appointment cost $75 and my frames were $95 - a bargain given WP's high quality. read more

I stopped by the Warby Parker store with what I thought might be an unusual request. I'm scheduled for cataract surgery and my doctor ordered me to stay out of my contact lenses for approximately a month. I have 20/20 vision in my right eye as a result of undergoing a similiar procedure, but a very high prescription in my left eye (with the cataract.) As you can imagine, the discrepancy between the two eyes is terribly disorienting. To remedy the situation, I had hoped that I could bring my Warby Parker glasses (Oliver model) in, have them pop out the lens in the good eye and replace it with one that didn't have a prescription. Initially, Isabelle thought that there wasn't any way to replace the lens, but I think she could sense my desperation and immediately went in search of one. She managed to find the one piece that perfectly fit my frames. In the short time I was waiting, I could see that the customer service here is attentive and helpful. I really appreciated that Isabelle took the time to address my problem...now I don't have to stumble through each day until my surgery. read more

I went to this location today and had a wonderful experience. It was pretty busy but the optometrist was able to see me shortly after being signed in. He took his time and adjusted both my sunglasses and my eyeglasses until they were both right, free of charge if you have Warby glasses. I HEART Warby Parker. Everything about this biz is great to me. When I first learned about its concept and the historical eyeglass industry monopoly I have been a fan. My first experience was at a NYC store. Also amazing. I ordered my glasses (one regular, other sunglasses) online. What an easy experience. I learned that all glasses have numbers on the "arms" that show the glasses measurement. Hence, it made it a lot easier to find the size I wanted. One suggestion: make a search tool to look for particular size, not just S/M/L. As I wanted particular measurements it took me a while to search and compare. I received my glasses in the mail and loved them. However, I could not get them straight for the life of me. I could have taken to a local place and WP would have reimbursed any charges, but I was able to hold out until I got to a WP location. This Philly spot was right downtown and the wait was minimal to get help. The associate straightened them both out. Better yet, she showed me how to do it in the future. About a week ago I arrived home from a trip with broken frames and in real need of an updated prescription. I went to the Warby Parker website for this particular store and clicked the link to 'book an eye exam'. I found a time I could get off of work and booked it. Today on the appointed day/time I walked into the store and was directed to the back of the store. The sales associate looked up my name, and found no record of the appointment - none. We went through the details again, I explained I booked it a week ago and took off work to be here. 'Sorry, *shrugs* want to make another appointment?' A company that gives away discounts with every podcast did not make any attempt to try to accommodate or placate me for their mistake or my lost time. Warby Parker does two things 1) sells glasses and 2) offers eye exams. I have tried their glasses twice, they are heavy and I've never managed to get them properly fitted in the store. I can now report that their eye exam scheduling software is also is unreliable. So no, I won't be making another appointment. I'll stick with to real doctors and local stores. In my experience they are just a dot com software company with a bunch of glasses. read more

Going in and picking out glasses was easy. Ordering them was easy. I ran out of contacts and didn't have spare glasses so needed these asap, so I purchased expedited shipping (3-5 business days). Ordered on Oct 2, it's now Oct 11 and they haven't been shipped to the store yet. They made a "mistake" and sent my order to a lab that doesn't fulfill expedited orders (not sure how this is good for their customer service or business model to have labs that cant expedite shipping). Customer service assures me that the mistake is on them, they refund me $20 instead of the 35 I paid for the expedited shipping and assure me my glasses will be here by Monday or Tues. It's now Wednesday, and my glasses have not come in. Called customer service again, they tell me the order has been processed, and it's waiting to be overnighted to the store by the shipping facility. They said i can expect them tomorrow or Friday at the latest, but to be honest they've already lost my trust. I'm hoping to be able to see again by sometime next week, but I'm not holding my breath at this point. So much for this amazing company that's REVOLUTIONIZING the way people purchase eyeglasses. 2 stars because customer service is readily available and the store was at least clean with friendly staff. read more
