Last night I sat on my glasses and bent both hinges on the frame. Did a search online and Synder Opticians came up. It was walking distance from from house so I stopped in to see what they could do. The owner greeted me with a warm hello. I showed him my glasses and he said he could take a look. He ended up fixing both hinges. Works like they were new. It took less than 10 minutes. NO CHARGE. I went there yesterday, 1/2 an hour before closing, badly needing a pair of eyeglasses fixed (note: they'd been purchased elsewhere). I have a nice pair of older Moscot Lemtosh glasses that had the hinge break off. I checked out a couple YouTube videos on making the repair myself but had some hesitation of possibly ruining a fairly expensive pair of specs. I searched on Yelp for eyeglass repair and after a few minutes of looking at different shops and reviews, Snyder Opticians was clearly the place for my need. Snyder Opticians were extremely pleasant and friendly. The store is super clean and cool. I dropped my glasses off and in less then 3 days my spectacles were ready. Snyder Opticians replaced both hinges and gave me a brand spanking new case for $25.00. I am very happy with quality of the repair, the fast turn around and even more happy to have my glasses back. Walked in one afternoon because one of the nose pads on my glasses broke. I waited less than three minutes before one of the staff members came to assist me. Not only did he fix my glasses, but when I mentioned they didn't fit right, he also helped me adjust them. It took several tries, but through it all he was very polite, kind, and professional. I've taken glasses to be fitted at other opticians before, and I can confidently say this was the best adjustment I've received and with such excellent service too. They wouldn't even let me pay them afterwards! Snyder Opticians apparently has been around for 80 years and is on its third generation. After my experience, I can certainly see why. Previous experiences had gone well at Snyder Opticians. Cataract Surgery that damaged my retina & cornea requires wearing glasses all the time. Custom made glasses that met my requirements of being light weight without obstructive frames, made by Swissflex Eyewear was recommended. Nothing was put in writing and no deposit was given. When I asked the approximate price range, I was told that it should be around the $400 range. Upon returning to pick up the glasses, I was told it was $610.00 ($405 for frames/$205 for lens). I felt misled going from a $400 estimate to $610. I took the new glasses to my Eye Surgeon to check the prescription, he found it problematic for my vision. I returned and left the glasses at the store with a new prescription. The assistant called to tell me that new lens would cost an additional $205 because there were problems due to Snyder Opticians having to change Distributors. She also told me that 'it was frustrating because the owners don't take notes or write anything down', so there was nothing written down that she could figure out. I declined paying the additional sum and my husband picked up the glasses. It's been difficult finding another company that will replace the lens on this particulair brand. My recommendation is to get a written estimate before you place the order and a receipt with the details of your order, warranty, etc. read more

I was in a bit of a bind because I broke my roommate's eyewear. This was the first place I came across that had another review regarding fixing glasses. So I popped in and showed them the issue. They said it was no biggie and took care of it right on the spot. There were other people in the lobby area being attended to as well. Staff was very attentive and amiable. I recently visited Snyder Opticians for the second time. Even though I had moved further away and Snyder Opticians is now harder to get to, after visiting several alternatives, I decided that I still prefer to work with Gary. I very rarely wear sunglasses, and when I do, it's an inexpensive pair from Target. However, I needed a pair with prescription that I could use while driving. Gary was wonderful. He recommended what was needed and walked me through the different options. When the glasses was ready, they adjusted it till it fit me well. I recently wore it during driving for the first time and it was perfect. The brown lenses Gary recommended were not too dark and really helped protect my eyes especially since it had recently snowed and the reflection was blinding. read more

This is a hidden gem! I was referred this place by my friend who has oh so cool glasses so I had to check it out. It is small, but I continue to say: quality not quantity. I loved these salespeople too, because they did not not pressure me AT ALL. I came. I tried. I work in the vision care industry, Kristi and Gary the owners are downright magicians and super nice people. The shop has a really cool history and it is a family run business for almost 70 years I want to say? For repairs they will fix things other optical shops will turn down, and if you need frames filled or need to purchase frames they have a diverse range of styles even though the shop is cozy in size. Their work is of unbelievable quality, and they will fit you for frames while making you feel like part of their family. P.S. really cute dog inside! read more

My boyfriend had been complaining about two pairs of glasses that he had ordered online that kept slipping off his face. One call and one drop-in to Snyder Opticians later, all of his problems were solved! The optician was super-friendly and really took the time to make sure we were happy customers, despite not having bought the glasses from this place originally. He also explained how to best care for the glasses and keep them clean- tidbits of information we didn't even ask for but which will no doubt be useful. The shop itself was simple but comfortable, and they seem to have their own cool selection of frames and sunglasses. The lighting is also really good so you can get an accurate feel for how the glasses look on. We definitely know where to go next time one of us needs a new pair of glasses! read more

These folks were kind, funny (they joked that it'd cost $12k) and had my sunglasses fixed in about 5 minutes. They refused to let me pay them anything. This is a really long review so here's a summary: excellent customer service, professional and knowledgeable staff, my two pairs of sunglasses were repaired quickly (AND free of charge!), and the dog is awesome. I don't wear Rx glasses but I highly recommend them to anyone who does. Even though I usually order sunglasses online, the next time I need new ones I think I'll go to Snyder instead, if for no other reason than to be able to show my gratitude for such a positive experience. Thank you guys! I needed two pairs of sunglasses fixed, Ray-Bans with a wire frame that was too wide and plastic sunglasses where the frame had cracked and a lens had fallen out. The office itself is well organized and brightly lit with indoor and natural lighting, and the woman (I apologize- she introduced herself but I'm awful at remembering names) at the counter was helpful from the minute I came in, greeting me and saying they could easily tighten the wire frames. She consulted with an optician in the back about the broken plastic frame and told me they could fix both pairs while I wait, but my plan had been to drop them off and pick them up in a few days since I hadn't expected them to be able to fix them so quickly, especially because it was a Saturday afternoon. The receptionist gave me a call Monday to let me know my sunglasses were ready. They used epoxy on the plastic frames and made the crack far less noticeable, so the next step was to tighten the Ray-Bans. The female optician was with a client looking at Transitions lenses and she seemed very thorough, showing a variety of frames and taking the lenses themselves over to the sunny window to show the Transition aspect. After that, she met with me, had me try on the frames and adjusted them two or three times until they were perfect. After doing all of that, they didn't charge me for either service! Seriously, I don't think I've had a more positive customer service experience. Both women were inviting and helpful and the repairs were impeccably done in a prompt manner. To top it off, they have a beautiful and well-trained Labradoodle named Coco! I had no idea there even was a dog until I actually saw her- there hadn't been a single bark either time I visited, even with people walking their dogs right outside the front windows. Coco was so sweet and sat down next to me while I had my frames tightened :) In short, I look forward to coming back to Snyder whenever I need an optician! read more

The folks here are amazing and so nice. I broke my frames (bought elsewhere mind you), and a friend recommended I take them here, so I did. They replaced the broken piece in about 15 minutes, and refused to charge me for it. "We have tons of spare parts", they said. I was blown away.
