Attended my niece's theater competition at this high school. It's a good size and nicely kept…read moreschool, but a bit of a haul to visit from VB! The folks here were nice and friendly, very accommodating. There wasn't much to explore because we just sat in the auditorium to watch the 4 schools' theater groups perform/compete. It was quite a long day, but their auditorium was comfy, except a bit chilly inside. Overall, looks like a nice high school!

The play's the thing. I've been to this school in Williamsburg several times to see plays and…read moreshows directed by the Drama teacher, Mr. Stone. So this review is mainly about that subject. He's amazing! He knows how to find the perfect student for each part. He showcases their talent and makes them shine. He instills confidence in his students and they exude poise on stage. He creates a family environment among the students where their talents are celebrated. One can see the hard work and hours of toil he puts in each performance, all the while, humbly behind the scenes encouraging these fledging actors and singers to be their best selves. And they love him too! His positive spirit explodes in the classroom. If you get a chance to go to one of Mr. Stone's performances, don't pass it up. You'll be in for a treat, it's like watching mini Broadway! The playbills are professionally designed, the costumes and sets are on point, the auditorium is clean and comfortable. There are snacks at intermission! Applause applause for Jamestown High School and Mr. Stone! I'm looking forward to the next show! Break a leg!
