Warehouse 109 is wonderful wedding venue run by an even more wonderful family. We got married here 5 months ago and people are still talking about how great this place is. They go above and beyond to make sure your needs are met from the beginning of your special day right up until the end. The ceremony garden was just beautiful and every space offers the opportunity for you to make your wedding creative and unique. I had zero stress on our big day and I know it's because we were in the right hands.

We selected this venue for my daughter's wedding reception which happened last weekend on 1/21/2023 and all I can say is WOW! The venue has a very distinct vibe that blends modern industrial with intimate, warm and welcoming. Its permanent fixture decor does wonders for the wedding budget and provides the opportunity for the client to emphasize and/or push that vibe in any direction with their own table decor. Such permanent decor includes an alcove wall of vintage motorcycles, cafe lights strung from the barn wood-beamed tall ceiling, treated weathered cement floors with vintage rugs, the occasional splash of corrugated sheet metal strategically placed, a cushy couch and seating area, and a "boothless" Photo Booth and prop collection that was a highlight of the evening with guests' ability to take still photos, videos and slo-mos as well as boomerangs and have them texted right to their cell phones. The bar itself is very large, enough to accommodate more than one bartender for a larger guest count. Their bar package selection was very good and offered pricing options that were extremely reasonable. Their list of caterers allows you to bring in the food that sets the tone you want, whether it's a fancy and upscale plated meal or a fun twist on a buffet service (we did winter barbecue buffet). While they offer the bar packages, tables, seating and linens (linens do come at a reasonable rental price and customers have countless color options to choose from), they do no food there and have no prep kitchen, so you do have to choose a caterer but that likely helps to keep overall costs down. Their outdoor patio includes an Airstream, a vintage pickup truck, heat lamps and fire pits with ample seating and standing room so guests can spread out even on cold winter nights (which ours did). If this venue has the vibe you want I cannot say enough great things about it and the staff. You won't be disappointed!

I have so many great things to say about Warehouse 109!! We just had our ceremony and reception there this past weekend and everything about it was so amazing!! Cerena and her family did a great job communicating and helping out with my many, many questions and concerns! The venue is absolutely beautiful and we had all the help we needed from the staff. All of our guests commented on what a wonderfully unique venue it was! Thank you WH109 for a wonderful day!!

I attended an event here yesterday. This venue is absolutely beautiful. The decor is simple yet classic. I loved the vintage vehicles when you walk up and they have a display of motorcycles inside. It gives you space indoors as well as outdoors. The staff was wonderful. The space gives you endless possibilities. The drive from the city was well worth it. Downtown who? A great gem in the southwest burbs.

Most bowling alleys (if not part of a chain, ie Brunswick), have a dreary vibe to them - dark, dank and unkempt - but not here. We arrived at 1pm for the birthday party, and all of the lanes were already busy. You can tell that this business books a lot of parties - and I can see why! The price per person for parties is fantastic! They have multiple tiers of both children and adult parties, as well as corporate and fundraising events. We had chicken fingers and pizza, and both were better than you'd expect at a bowling alley. The party even had a coordinator; he kept the time very on track, and was very accommodating. I'd definitely recommend Plainfield Lanes as a local outing or party spot!

On the other hand, this place is also a little more high end compared to your old fashion bowling/dive bar places. The location was very easy to find. We used Google Navigation and it lead us directly to the place. If you miss the entrance, it might be a little annoying to backtrack but no big issues. Parking was no issues and it is very big compared to the size of the building. We showed up on a busy Wednesday where it is penny pins so you only pay a penny per pin you knock down. Essentially...the worst you are, the cheaper your game will be. Inside the building is very nice and clean. There are two entrances..one is a "restaurant" and the other is the decent sized arcade and bowling. There is a self serving beer tap. And they do serve food. They do a little star less due to the prices of the food as well. It is better than your traditional bar/bowling food but it is a little more expensive. Also, I do enjoy the service of the self serving beer tap. They had a lot of selections of beer, 1-2 seltzers, 1 cider and ~5 wine selection. Also, they do have a "limit" of ~32 oz where the bartender can allow you or less depending on how you act. I do appreciate that so while you can drink feely, no one is getting drunk. I think we were paying ~.60 cents an oz and it does tell you how much your drink will cost as you are pouring. Also, they do have a small water station will is greatly appreciated. The arcade is decently sized. They do have a lot of selections of games but it is not a place where I would go just for the arcade. The size is good for after bowling or while you are waiting for your lane. Overall, I am very impressed with this location. Food, self serving beer tap, and arcades... I am fan of Twisted Pins and I would be back in the future.

Mistwood was our venue for both our wedding ceremony and reception, and everything was beautiful!…read moreWe planned everything in 11 months with the help of staff coordinator Audra. In July we attended the tasting to try all the dishes and from there chose all the menu options for the reception dinner. It was very convenient to have the venue as the caterer, and as we had eaten at McWethy's, their restaurant, many times (including the night we got engaged), we knew the food would be good. Since our wedding was in November, we had both the ceremony and the reception in the Great Hall. There was another event there (baby shower) in the morning but we were able to take possession of the bridal room at 2:30 pm and the other group had cleared out by then. My now-husband and his team of friends who were helping set up said the staff did a good job of quickly flipping the venue from the baby shower to ours. My only quibbles with the venue pertain to the bride room. There was only one lit bulb in the chandelier, so lighting was poor; no hangers in the closet; they provided us with a samovar of water upon request, but it leaked all over the vanity (water bottles would have been better); the couch is very low (my maid of honor couldn't get up from it without help; my mother brought in a couple of dining chairs so we weren't just standing, because there was just one other armchair to sit on); and it started out freezing but ended up roasting hot in the room. It was a good thing it was just me, my maid of honor, my mom and my hairdresser, and we had already done makeup at my mom's house in the morning, because if there had been lots of bridesmaids it would have been too crowded! (The bride room is connected to the public ladies room, but it has a keypad lock; the lighting in there is quite ambient as well.) We went for a medieval sort of theme with our wedding, so the Tudor-style beams and large fireplace in the Great Hall worked well with this. Our photographer also took photos outside against the golf course and building, including a lovely but very steep bridge. Cocktail hour was in the Terrace Room while they flipped the Great Hall from the ceremony seating to the tables and dance floor setup. We had arranged for specialty cocktails (named after our cats!) and the bartender delivered! The catering captain, Betty, introduced herself to us and also coordinated the timing of things well (speeches, bringing out the late night snack pretzel wall, etc). All the staff that we interacted with were true professionals. The food was all delicious (we chose NY strip with garlic herb butter sauce, chicken with champagne sauce, and cauliflower steak with pesto sauce as our three entree choices), and it was very helpful that they could make accomodations for vegans, vegetarians, people with gluten allergies, and dairy intolerance. This was quite an affordable yet very beautiful venue for our perfect day! Everything went perfectly as far as I know and we heard so many times from guests how lovely the setting was. I would highly recommend Mistwood as a wedding venue if you are planning for your special event.

Wow did I feel so small and stupid! Nicole came up to me in the waiting area and I could tell she was a little shocked at my age. With such a condescending attitude i really wanted to walk out then. She made it VERY clear with her attitude that she was very annoyed with having me as a student. I enjoyed our wedding at The Farmhouse greatly. There were a lot of wonderful parts about our day,…read morebut there were a few things I would be aware of in advance to anyone considering this venue. Firstly, reading through some of the reviews, I think many guests have bad experiences not because of the venue, but because of the vendors that the couples select. This is one thing about the venue that you should be aware of in advance: they provide you a venue with facilities for the full day including ample getting ready spaces, and full access to the property. You as a coupe hire your vendors separately. The Farmhouse provides you with a preferred vendor list and the platinum package list. We selected their platinum package vendors because 1) I didn't want to vet any vendors and 2) we got a discount with those vendors AND the venue if we did. As far as the vendors are concerned, I will leave more detailed reviews on their own pages, but for the purposes of anyone considering the platinum package at The Farmhouse, I would say it was generally a good experience. Here is a quick breakdown: -Eight Hands Photography - Great vendor with lovely photos. Our head photographer did not seem well prepared and didn't provide us with a huge variety of group photo ideas. You'll want to have ideas in mind otherwise they will go basic. -DJ JPW - fantastic DJ. 100/10. Absolute best wedding DJ I could have hoped for. -Goddess Effect Beauty - I was not pleased with her system of payments nor the clarity of communication. I'm not sure if the communication is purposefully unclear or if she is not a clear person, but she messaged me the morning of the wedding that I owed $1500 when I really owed $500. It made the entire morning incredibly awkward and I cannot say I enjoyed the experience once that happened. -Stems and Petals - Great flowers for very reasonable! Flowers themselves looked a bit damaged (bruised roses), but they truly were a steal compared to other florists! She was also VERY pleasant to work with! Great experience -SIP Bar Service and Prestige Liquor - Excellent, top notch bar tenders. Great service and they packed everything away. Marissa at SIP was fantastic with our planning. For Prestige, check your quote and ensure it's accurate because he did mistakenly add 20 bottles of champagne but Gary fixed that issue quickly and professionally! -Noteable Catering - People loved the food. I thought they were good people to work with and generally okay. Nothing super out of the park. I did hate that we did the buffet stations and guests had to walk through the kitchens. That was weird, but not really their fault. We also knew that going in! The layout and space- This venue was BEAUTIFUL. I was so thrilled with all of the flowers, landscape details, and fire pits. One thing we wanted in a venue was outdoor spaces for people that don't dance. We had board games and cards set outside for our guests to enjoy if they didn't enjoy music and it felt so lovely to give ALL guests a place to enjoy. One thing that was frustrating was that announcements couldn't be heard outside. They need an outdoor PA system so that guests can hear when the late night snack is up! That would be so helpful and make the guest experience better. Finally, I really loved the getting ready spaces. It was so nice to be able to relax with everyone in the spaces. My flower girl needed a nap earlier in the day so having a place where she could go with her parents and relax was instrumental to having her happy and smiling! Day of Coordinator - This was a great decision for us to do, and I'm happy we did it. I will say that Hailey was incredibly helpful and ensured things ran smoothly. Honestly, huge shout out to her for getting us drinks right after the ceremony for us to immediately celebrate! She was kind, thoughtful, and calm! Our stuff was set up beautifully, but I did have to make some adjustments (that's because I'm a perfectionist not because they did anything wrong). I wish that they acted a bit more type A to be honest. You want a person in that position to be an absolute perfectionist: asking clarifying questions during planning meetings, taking ownership, thinking ahead with potential issues. Seemed like they were very passive. Not a bad thing especially when balancing nervous brides, but I would have loved more energy and enthusiasm during planning. It almost seemed like I had to lead the meetings and all the prep. Our stuff was packed up poorly after the wedding: puzzle pieces dumped in a box, broken glass, etc. The owner gave a weird impression to my parents (I never met him) but it seemed that he wasn't a very nice person and was bad mouthing Hailey to my parents. I think that's unprofessional since she did a great job. Overall experience - I would say I absolutely had the best time of my life, but I would recommend doing research before selecting the venue. If you don't want to pick out your vendors, find an all inclusive!
