What a cool place. My cousin recently got married here and it was a very cool venue. It was a little small, but perfect for the amount of people they had. They had motorcycles all over the wall and a really charming space. The outside was funky, but since the wedding was in December, we didn't really take advantage of the outdoors. They did have a firepit going where you could go to keep warm if you wanted. The bar was nice and everything was clean and well taken care of. We definitely had a great time here. read more

We selected this venue for my daughter's wedding reception which happened last weekend on 1/21/2023 and all I can say is WOW! The venue has a very distinct vibe that blends modern industrial with intimate, warm and welcoming. Its permanent fixture decor does wonders for the wedding budget and provides the opportunity for the client to emphasize and/or push that vibe in any direction with their own table decor. Such permanent decor includes an alcove wall of vintage motorcycles, cafe lights strung from the barn wood-beamed tall ceiling, treated weathered cement floors with vintage rugs, the occasional splash of corrugated sheet metal strategically placed, a cushy couch and seating area, and a "boothless" Photo Booth and prop collection that was a highlight of the evening with guests' ability to take still photos, videos and slo-mos as well as boomerangs and have them texted right to their cell phones. The bar itself is very large, enough to accommodate more than one bartender for a larger guest count. Their bar package selection was very good and offered pricing options that were extremely reasonable. Their list of caterers allows you to bring in the food that sets the tone you want, whether it's a fancy and upscale plated meal or a fun twist on a buffet service (we did winter barbecue buffet). While they offer the bar packages, tables, seating and linens (linens do come at a reasonable rental price and customers have countless color options to choose from), they do no food there and have no prep kitchen, so you do have to choose a caterer but that likely helps to keep overall costs down. Their outdoor patio includes an Airstream, a vintage pickup truck, heat lamps and fire pits with ample seating and standing room so guests can spread out even on cold winter nights (which ours did). If this venue has the vibe you want I cannot say enough great things about it and the staff. You won't be disappointed! read more

When looking for a venue for our wedding, I knew I wanted somewhere unique. Nothing stuffy or formal. Somewhere that our friends and family felt relaxed and comfortable in, while being reflective of our personalities. I also know that I love industrial, urban aesthetic, but didn't want to do a wedding in the city. I stumbled across Warehouse 109 while searching for venues nearby that might fit my criteria. The moment I saw the amazing photos on their website, I KNEW I needed to book it. When my fiancé and I met Cerena at the venue to do a tour, that sealed the deal. This place is fantastic. Industrial. Vintage. A ton of character and well curated style. The motorcycle wall is simply stunning. The details around the entire venue are amazing. And the garden ceremony felt like we escaped to a whole other location. We also rented the bridal suite and it was fantastic. Clean lines. Good design. And so comfortable and spacious. Perfect lighting for photos and space to relax and get ready. Add to all of that the fact that Cerena and Clayton were so incredibly helpful and patient through all of the planning! Even with the challenges of COVID, they didn't skip a beat leading up to it, and the day/night-of service was fantastic. So attentive. Excellent staff. It left us absolutely nothing to worry about but enjoying our day and focusing on the time surrounded by loved ones. In an absolutely stunning location. We highly, highly recommend! read more

My husband and I had our wedding (ceremony and reception) here last Saturday, 7/13/19 and we had the absolute best time. The venue was beautiful, very unique and the whole day was seamless and easy. Booking the venue was very easy, getting the plan put together was also seamless. Cerena was extremely every step of the way. You can ask her any question you need and she will respond asap. She created a very easy to use spreadsheet as well which helps eliminate a lot of questions. Their website also recommended a lot of wonderful vendors such as: MyChef (dinner), Milette's Cakes (Desert) , Village Flower Shop - Plainfield, Brooke Alania Photography --- All amazing and fun vendors to work with. The venue was not overpriced. It was a great price for the wonderful venue and you get lots of options to add additional items if you want. They have awesome bar packages that also have options to add or not. You can add specialty kegs from the brewery next door, a specialty cocktail like a Moscow Mule (we did that one for summer) ---- It was perfect. Also, the golf cart was AWESOME. We had a 6:30 start time for our ceremony (highly recommend a short ceremony at this time), which can lead to your cocktail hour and bar package starting at 7:00p in the warehouse. My husband and I were in the golf cart waiting to drive to the garden ceremony, which was across the parking lot. The wedding party (small, mostly just family), walked into one song. We had our DJ (Toast and Jam - amazing company - highly recommend) out there already with a satellite DJ station. Then when it was time for mike and I to go, we played a different song, and we drove over and walked up and everyone loved it, it was timed wonderfully. Please understand that no matter WHAT time you choose to start your wedding, some guests will always arrive late. You CANNOT control that, its just what happens. It does not affect anything. The bar service was phenomenal, everyone was extremely nice and helpful. I highly recommend this venue. We did not need Cerena or a day manager too much because I am a very over the top organized planner myself haha. BUT, adding Cerena - who helped all the way up to the day of, a day manager that day (Jane), the venue already being amazingly decorated (you do not have to add any decorations (we only added flower centerpieces to the tables, with candles) and the staff at Warehouse109 and the staff of your vendors.... everything was taken care of OR works out. This is a great business ran extremely well! Thank you so much to the Warehouse team. Very professional, classy, helpful, fun! Loved every second of the planning process with the Warehouse109 team and we could not be any happier with the service and ease of our wedding day. read more

The venue is beautiful. We had a wedding there last August. They did a nice job setting the tables. It was over priced for what we received. Right before the ceremony the hostess (Cerena) who was supposed to bring my husband and and daughter to the garden was overly concerned with guests arriving late. Where was her back up person? A second person should have been guiding the guests. By the time it was time for the ceremony and they were running late, she had my husband and daughter on a golf cart and did not make sure every part of the bride was inside and secure. She took off very fast and my daughter's train got caught under the golf cart wheel, ripping the dress, staining it badly and nearly pulling the bride out of the cart. Needless to say my husband and daughter were extremely upset. Guests were made to wait in the hot sun while they tried to prepare. This is a venue that prides itself in antique vehicles and I am puzzled why they thought a golf cart was appropriate for a bride and gown. After the ceremony I cleaned the dress as best as I could and with needle and thread creatively bustled it trying to hide the mess. At the reception later in the evening, I asked the owner, also the bartender, for a shot for my sister in law and I. He actually had the chutzpah to charge me cash. After what we paid for the venue and the stress of the ruined dress, the very least he could do was offer 2 shots, regardless of his policy. I paid him, as money was not the issue, but I could not help but think that we should open a wedding venue close by and show him how to run a business. This family has so much to learn about customer service. After being in the business for a few years they are in their infancy. I remain disappointed in how issues were handled. It's not that predicaments won't arise but what separates them from their competitors is how they handle the problems. read more

MOST wedding photographers begin their day around 10am. We go the entire day on full steam ahead without sitting down and without breaks. If you do that math cocktail hour is usually around 6p....That's 8 hours of standing, carrying heavy equipment, not eating or using the washroom. By the time we hit cocktail hour we just need a minute! This past weekend I was at Warehouse 109. It is now on my blacklist and I have no issues turning away any client getting married here. The owners of this place are absolutely horrible when it comes to the treatment of the vendors that come here. I also looked at their negative reviews to see if this was just a one off...but it's not. This seems to be the case here. 1) Most venues have a table for vendors to sit during dinner just so we can get off our feet for a minute. I had asked where this was and she told me to go stand at one of the high-top tables in the corner. When I said I don't even mind sitting outside (and it was raining) she said, "no, you can stand over there". I let it go. All of us found a couch and 5 of us squeezed onto the couch lol. It was entertaining to say the least. 2) They had a charcuterie station that NO ONE ate at during cocktail hour. I decided to grab some cheese because I was starving. They had these thin wooden forks...only good enough to push through soft cheese. At this time the caterer (who provides the food) sees us all sitting and says, "have you guys been fed"? I said, "no". He was super sweet and went to the kitchen and brought us all out food. We didn't have silverware. I then asked the venue owners sister if we could have a fork. She said in a super mean voice, "NO, we don't do that for you guys! Besides you already have one!" as she pointed to the crappy wooden fork in the middle of the table that we were all suppose to share I guess. Again, fine, we ignored it and ate rice and Carne Asada with our hands until eventually one of their staff walked by, saw and offered to sneak us some. We all seriously felt like savages. 3) This is the one that drove it home for me. My parents worked their butt off to get my sister and I in a good place. We went to a local college, both got great jobs and I now live in North Plainfield. I am proud of my family and how hard we have all worked to give ourselves and children the lives we have! I am proud of my home, the town I live in and my community! I LOVE IT HERE!!! The bride asked me to stay for a drink when we were done. In 18 years of doing this I never have done that. I told her that is something I don't do in the sweetest voice possible. SHE WAS INSISTSANT. Said she would feel insulted if we didn't. So my assistant and I said we would have one drink and sit outside by the fire while we did. Now I know for a fact they paid for guests that did not show up so the venue actually made money not lost money on alcohol. I go to the bar (where the owner, Clayton, is the bartender). I ask for 2 bourbons and cokes. He said, "Aren't you the photographers? I said, Yes. He said well you don't get free drinks. You have to pay for yours! I said fine. I seriously didn't care. He stated that if he gave a vendor a free drink every time they had an event they would be out of business. I didn't say anything but what I really wanted to say was...you spilled more alcohol on your bar tonight than what you placed in that glass....I think you'll be okay! He asked me how long I had been a photog. I told him 18 years and that I am ranked #1 in the Midwest, #2 in the United States and #6 in the world. He did the ugliest laugh and said...yeah...you're the #1 and you live in Plainfield! I WAS SO SHOCKED!!!! I didn't know what to say. YEAH I DO LIVE HERE SO WHAT??? Does that make me less of a person? Am I not good enough to be here or too good? Either way a seriously crappy statement. I worked damn hard to live in the house I live in. I have come so far in my life to lift myself up! I am one of the top photographers in my industry and now owner of one of the largest Photography educational conferences in the United States that's held annually here in Chicago. He had no right to judge my lifestyle because I was in his venue...THE FREAKIN KICKER....I LOOKED THEM UP AND THEY LIVE HERE TOO! ????? Again, I wanted to cry but said nothing. I told him I drop off my images for them and they have my wedding albums in their sales room. He degraded that and instead of saying, oh thank you for that, he said...We have lots of peoples wedding albums in that room! Which I then said, it's fine...you probably don't need more then! After that point I walked away and actually cried on my drive home because of the, "where I live comment". This also pissed me off because not many photographers share their work for free to venues. They make the venues pay for them or not share at all. I always do. I always feel that everyone should help each other out. Wow. What can I say about Warehouse 109, where do I start?! They are a family owned venue and they are the FRIENDLIEST people. You honestly feel like you are the only wedding they are hosting because they respond quickly and make you feel so incredibly special. Let me just say, this was the only venue we visited and I almost cried the first time I was there. It was perfect, and my husband and I knew it right away. We had the bridal suite which was perfect for my moderately sized bridal party and they provided us with drinks and music to get a good vibe going. One of the owners was the bartender the entire night and WOW he knew how to have a great time!!!! He made amazing drinks and I had multiple guests talk about how great he was, how often do people remember the bartenders at a wedding? Honestly, everything went so smoothly and everyone made a point to let me know how incredible the venue was. It was beautiful inside and out. There was always a spot for everyone to hang out or dance. Celina was amazing and worked with us and was so patient with all the questions and changes that I made. We switched where the ceremony was going to be like 3 months before the wedding and it wasn't an issue at all. By the way, if you have your ceremony - GO WITH THE GARDEN! Ugh, it is gorgeous and worth it. The last thing I want to say is that our wedding was on May 22, 2021. This was literally 1 week after capacity opened more and also 95% of our guests were vaccinated. This was the first sense of normalcy that all our guests had in over a year. I attended an event here yesterday. This venue is absolutely beautiful. The decor is simple yet classic. I loved the vintage vehicles when you walk up and they have a display of motorcycles inside. It gives you space indoors as well as outdoors. The staff was wonderful. The space gives you endless possibilities. The drive from the city was well worth it. Downtown who? My brother just had his wedding here June 25, 2021. It was absolutely wonderful. It's off the beaten path. Next to a row of cute and interesting other restaurants and coffee bars. It's so cute and cozy. They have a large indoor space that can host a very casual affair, an in between event or little more elegant. My brother and his wife chose to have an in between wedding. There is a large outdoor patio area with tables, chairs and pretty lights strung above. The whole place was very clean and nicely kept. They also had a motorcycle museum type wall in the venue. At first when I heard about this I thought it might seem weird. But honestly it was pretty neat. The staff were very nice, attentive and made sure everything was taken care of. It's a family owned business. The parents and older children were all working there. Every thing was perfect. Even the cute little candles they had going in the restrooms ( which by the way, were spotless all night long). Behind the venue they have a beautiful garden area where the actual wedding took place. It was private and so pretty. I would highly recommend looking at Warehouse 109 for your next event. Thanks for a wedding to remember!!!! read more

Warehouse: 109, a unique venue for a wedding, we had our wedding ceremony and reception there in November 2016, it was perfect. We communicated with with the owners in person, by phone and email about the layout, the bar package and even to see how other weddings set up the room. They made the wedding very special for us, by providing bartenders that were fun and attentive, while having somebody assigned to the day to make sure everything went smoothly from working with the baker, cater, DJ, photographer and anybody else that came along. We had our wedding reception at Warehouse 109 and absolutely loved this venue. It was truly beautiful and breath-taking. We received so many compliments on how unique our venue was. As much as we enjoyed the venue, there were a few things that could be improved upon. Cerena was unable to be at our wedding to assist, even though she was the main person I was corresponding with, so in her place was another lady named Deb. Deb was great for the most part, but seemed to be short-staffed. My guests and wedding party had to help break down or move tables because Deb and this one other lady needed assistance. The bar staff was texting behind the bar in front of guests and myself while we waited to get drinks and then after the wedding, they were eating our food in the holding kitchen. These are certainly not deal-breakers and we had an amazing time, but just things that could have been better. You will not regret having your event at Warehouse 109 because it is simply gorgeous and unique! read more

Ok here is the deal, this a beautiful venue to have your wedding. It made for a wonderful setting and I loved, loved, loved the space itself. I realize that is due to the family, but, and this can be a big deterrent for some, the family that owns and runs it is not an event planning family first. Cerena was great at answering my questions quickly, which was fantastic. I, however, never actually met Cerena, nor was she present on the day of my wedding, which was weird. She was my planner and I never saw her or set eyes her in 5 months of planning. It was a little unnerving. We also utilized their sound system, including their speaks and microphone. We went and tested it beforehand, but as is the case often, there were some issues. I am not complaining about the fact that an issue arose, but rather the fact that they kind of left us there to flounder with it, rather than have someone come over and help out. If you run a facility and we are using your sound system you should help when the microphone is giving feedback (tell us where to stand, etc.) or when the volume is too loud on the speakers and groom is having a tough time turning it down, help us out. This coupled with a few other things like this, rubbed me the wrong way. I think it was more so the feeling that no one actually knew me there, that I was the one getting married and that I never felt 100% assured that the wedding was in totally capable hands and that I had someone I could contact in case things did go wonky. Again, everyone there is very sweet, the venue is absolutely beautiful and I would recommend it, but I do so with the above caveats. I also would add, if you can, do your event there in the evening and add candles. The ambiance is out of this world. read more

Loved this place. We had our co-ed baby shower here and couldn't have had a better time. Cerena helped with all my questions and planning. They allowed people in two hours early to set up and the catering company we chose was so easy to deal with because they had a good relationship with the venue. Many of our guests commented on how cool and different a venue it was and that they were glad to not be at some stuffy hall or restaurant. It was such a laid back time throughout the day and the bartender they had working for our event was great. I wanted a shower that was different and relaxed and that is exactly what we got!
