Lovely store and products. Very friendly staff, unlike owners who are VERY rude.

I've lived down the road from this shop for 25 years and I love what they offer, BUT the rudeness of the owner, employee, whoever always leaves a bad taste and makes me shop elsewhere usually. I was treated as a potential thief this last time! I had bought some gifts the week before and wanted to exchange them. The gals were busy at the counter so with my Warmth Co bag with said items and the RECEIPT I waited by perusing items at the counter. One of the older woman behind the counter was eyeing me and motioned to one of the younger gals to go over to me, didn't ask herself if I needed help, which would have been the thing to do. It was so obvious she was suspicious & I understand they must have things stolen, but there was a better way to approach me. I won't be back, they made me feel AWFUL! read more

I am actually very surprised to see less then perfect reviews for this store. I have been into the warmth company several times over the last 20 years I have lived in the Santa Cruz area and have never been less then very pleased with the customer service. The women who work in this store are pleasant and helpful, and I now own some of the most amazing cookbooks and candles because of thier excellent customer service. Great store, sweet and kind employees and wonderful product!! Two thumbs up! read more

The Warmth Co is one of those rare finds where can always find something surprising, for yourself, your spouse or a friend. I've gotten framed prints, a bathrobe, candles, and a bunch of other items from them. I like the fact they they let you browse around, sit in the chairs and page through their coffee books. Their Christmas parties are the best, great people with great attitudes. The twins totally have it together along with their regular staffers. I'll be going back as long as they are around. I've noticed interior-designers shop there as well. read more

I purchased a bottle of body lotion for my girl friend recently at the Warmth Company for a pretty penny. When I gave it to her I had already opened it up to smell it. My girlfriend could not stand the product because it contained commercial fragrance additives and that she was allergic to added fragrances. I returned the item the next day, the lady I spoke with was very nice, she would not offer me a refund or any other remedy, I simply left the bottle on the counter and left. I would think when paying a high price for something such as this it would have been beneficial for the Warmth Company to refund my money and go to the supplier and ask to be compensated for an inferior product. read more

I was in this store for the first time a few weeks ago, and it was everything I anticipated. The merchandise is high end, but I am surprised by the reviews that called it "overpriced". I wonder what they are comparing it to. I have seen the same merchandise in Sonoma and San Francisco for higher prices, so I was rather pleasantly surprised. There are many lower cost items too, if you are looking for an inexpensive gift. I found the customer service to be fine, but then I am the sort of customer who wants to be left alone to browse until I signal that I need help. I will absolutely be returning to buy more unique hand crafted items that I intend to keep a long time. read more

Spent over three thousand on two items. One of which didn't work out because of space dimensions. Was told t "go ahead and try it out, if it dosent work, bring it back". Not the case. Brought the way overpriced item back and they said they would talk to a manager. The manager happened to be right there and gave her a head nod implying "no". Then the sales person said she would take my number and call. Never called back. And the manager didn't even have the professionalism to talk to her customer who was right in front of her!!!!! Instead- she gives the sales person a nod. Way over priced, some of the WORST custumer service I've ever experienced. read more

I share the poor customer service experienced other wrote about. In addition to being indifferent I was berated for asking for my design service fee back after the designer never provided me any suggestions after seeing my home. It was $150 and was to go towards my purchase. I asked for it back and was met with resistance and then told that they really ask for it to weed out looks Lou's ...REALLY? Really!!! Just went in here for the first time today. I have a friend who loves this place and has spent a lot of money there - so I thought I'd see for myself. My presence was not acknowledged at all. I was even looking at jewelry near the counter and the woman 3 feet away by the register didn't bother to look up or ask if I needed assistance. For the amount of money one would shell out here, I would expect better customer service. There are many places out there that mimic this store -- I will not be going back. read more

The workers here are terrible. Very rude and judgmental. I even bought something there and still got treated rudely and it's almost like they were prejudice because I didn't have a name brand purse or fancy clothes. I do not recommend this store at all. This a great source for homegoods with a soft beachy vibe. Beautiful, unusual light fixtures both hanging and table lamps, unusual accesories including a lifesize primitive wooden mermaid, shells, candles and upholstered pieces. Also beach themed art and wall hangings. The owners and staff go above and beyond to be helpful-getting stuff from out of the back room and letting you take larger items on approval. read more

I went there today for the first time. I love the place. It has all kinds of fragrant candles that comes in a unique glass container which can be reused as decorative containers. The clothing and beddings are so comfy. The staffs there were welcoming, extremely nice, helpful but not pushy into purchasing. I definitely would recommend this place to shoppers. read more

This is a wonderful, quaint boutique for the home that specializes in custom bedding and furniture. I loved the coastal, rustic feel of the furnishings and enjoyed perusing all the jewelry and unique home accessories. This store was quite honestly the most horrible place I've ever been treated by staff, EVER! My comrades and I walked into the shop and were automatically stared down as well as continuously watched. A group of us went to check out their selection of books and had the manager follow us and continuously look at us like we were scum on the earth. We were repeatedly told to stop being near what was apparently a "$5,000 dollar couch which [we] would ruin". Overall the most unpleasant customer service I've ever experienced and will definitely never be returning. read more

My sister lives in Santa Cruz and I try to make a visit to this beautiful store each time I visit from Marin County. I love the way they merchandise the store and LOVE all the merchandise in it! I have made many small purchases over the years...candles, books and jewelry and have left the store feeling really happy. The girls in the store are often busy rearranging furniture but certainly are there to help their customers if needed. I totally disagree with several other Yelpers. This is a special store that deserves a visit! It's on my top 20 Northern Cal Great Shops list! read more

While out shopping with my wife, 9 month old, and 2 1/2 yr old we decide to visit what appeared to be a very friendly and inviting shop. Boy were we wrong.... As we were wandering through the store my wife was interested in a bed that they had... So she and my 2 1/2 year old laid on the bed to try it out. This was immediately met with a clerk who pretentiously said with an air of snideness... "We'd really like to sell that bed and covers...." In other wards, get yourself and your kid off the bed !!!! And she walked away leaving us both stunned.... We immediately gathered our children and checkbook and went down the street to Outside-In where they were happy to see us and our money. Skip this shop unless you appreciate being talked down to or like being treated like a lower class citizen..... read more
