Moving here from Chicago, one of my favorite things about Nashville was the hiking options. The Warner Parks, 7 years being here now, are still my absolute favorite in the area. Hundreds of paved and wooded trails to choose from. Stunning scenery. I'm there multiple times every single month. Love love love.

Edwing Warner Park: went for a walk in this serene park, which surprisingly turned out to be quite an educative experience. The nature center museum was closed, but the pond and nature garden was a good experience. The plants were labeled, and there is some good vegetables like okra, bell peppers. There is a small park called called Nature Play with a small slide, which in seeing the pic my 6 year old said is a baby slide. The Sandy Bivens bird garden is pretty cool, gives instruction how to make one in your house, with a water source, include native plants, and mulched leaves. Also remove any invasive plants. There is a bird research program happening here which gives info on how they band birds, which means place radio transmitters on them, to know their movements. Apparently you can watch this, but we do not find that area to be open. Overall great experience. There are many trails which can be done here as well.

It was our first visit for the family and man was it a real treat. We coming back from Fairview and as we on highway we dipped into the park for a quick walk with the pups. As we made our way to the entrance we found a parking space pretty quickly. We headed the walking trail and stayed under the trees as it super hot outside. We picked a spot to rest in the shade then my pointed at two deers that were headed our way. The deer were about 40 feet away from us the pups were freaking out, but we kept them still. The deer strolled by with a light jog and headed into the woods. It was really cool and a treat to be that closer to nature. We will be back to explore more of what the park has to offer.

I'm always looking for places to hike near the Nashville area and Warner Parks has been on my list for some time. We went on a Saturday and it was fairly busy in the area we went to, but discovered the park is rather big and there are a ton of hiking trails with varying difficulty. The overlook point was gorgeous and had nice views of downtown Nashville. This time of year is particularly beautiful will the fall foliage. Recommended!

Absolutely beautiful park with so many wonderful areas to explore. The trails here are fantastic in all seasons, but the springtime is when you really want to make your way here. I cannot love this park more and in particular the Burch Reserve Trail. You must try it if you are in even decent hiking shape. It has quite a bit of uphill on it, but nothing too daunting. There is shade along the way and you will hear birds singing all around you, so taking breaks is recommended. There is also a pond and a meadow to enjoy. You won't be disappointed.

The Warner Parks (Percy Warner Park & Edwin Warner Park) are pretty massive - 3,200 acres featuring 16.75 miles of hiking trails! I visited the Percy Warner Park yesterday when I was nearby in order to hike the Warner Woods Trail (a 2.8-mile loop through the woods). Because it was a Monday, I was able to find parking near the Percy Warner Park Stairs (at the Belle Meade Blvd. entrance to the park). From there, I walked up the stairs, and the trail was really easy to find (marked well throughout by white paint on trees along the trail). The trail is heavily-trafficked, even on a Monday. (Lots of runners and hikers!) The Warner Parks are popular! But it's a pretty trail, and it was easy enough to get around people even during COVID. I'd happily check out more of the park system another time (there are some paved trails that seem better for running - since I'm not much of a trail runner - too clumsy!). But - FYI - bathrooms are far and few between, and the park can be quite crowded, making parking difficult at more peak hours (I recommend checking the park out on off-days or during off-hours if you can.

I'm a bit of a mess right now. I don't know what it is. Maybe it's the time of year. Maybe it's all the chaos in the universe. Maybe someone put roots on me. I don't know. But my energy is off. It's way off. I keep doing things wrong. I don't think Edwin Warner is a 3-star park but I had a 3-star (a-ok) experience here. Thing is, I probably did something wrong. I parked in the lot away from the nature center (wrong). I came too early in the year (wrong... but not my fault; climate change has jacked up fall). I wore the wrong shoes. I took the wrong trail. I kept thinking about the fancy of Radnor and was disappointed (comparatively) with Edwin Warner. I did it all wrong. So, I am writing to (hopefully) make sure you do it right. Park by the nature center. Wait until the leaves change and go early in the day and in the week. Take a nature trail. I took the paved trail and it's a (decent) loop up and around a hill. But for the gates, a car could drive it. You don't go on a hike that could be replicated by a drive. Take the nature path and venture into the unknown. From what I could tell from the road/paved path, the nature paths were very clearly marked with colors so it's unlikely you'd get lost. You might walk longer than you expected but come with water, a hat, sunglasses, and the right shoes and all will be well. Wear the right shoes. You're entering nature, not strolling the concourses at CoolSprings. There are sights to be seen so read the reviews and (better yet) a map before venturing off on your adventure. Plan wisely and you're pretty sure to have a 4- to 5-star experience. As it was, mine was fine. Time spent in nature is never a loss* but I found myself bored very early in to my walk and things never quite corrected themselves from there. I might have been me. It was probably me. I need a vacation. *Usually.

It is usually quiet during the week unless there is a special event or party at a pavilion. This is an under appreciated park and I hope funding is secured to do updates. The bathrooms really need to be completely overhauled and actually be open for use every day! The covered picnic areas and pavilions also need some much needed improvement. The annex signs & trail signs should also be improved (larger and more clearly marked). Water refill stations and recycling will also go along way...Roads need to be repaired or replaced and river access points should be a priority. Trails and river access need improvement (often muddy or washed out) Overall a relaxing experience!

A beautiful spot to take a walk! Well maintained roads and trails, with plenty of signs so you won't get lost. I enjoyed my time here.

We always enter from the "access trail" side. It is a smaller parking lot but we like coming in from this side. Depending on what time you get there, you may have a slight wait time to park but it is usually pretty quick and efficient. We usually arrive before 8:30am and have had no problem finding a spot. There are I believe at least 2 handicap spots at this entrance. They also have bathrooms available that are always clean and kept up. At the main entrance, entering from (otter creek). There is a welcome center with information and a small gift shop. Before bringing a stroller we would always go on the trail through the park woods but now with our baby and taking a stroller we take the paved path which was just redone and is SO nice!!! Strollers and bikes are not permitted on the dirt path so keep that in mind. There is so much beauty to look at while enjoying a nice peaceful walk. Eagles, owls, deer, frogs, turtles, birds, and more creatures to look at all while visiting Radnor. It is a staple as a local to get outdoors and into fresh air. Great place to take kids or any family that is visiting or even a great place to go on a nice solo long walk.

This parking lot is smaller, but we were surprised to find a spot easily. When we left around 10:45, there was a line of about 6 cars waiting, though cars seemed to move through fairly quickly. There is a nice bathroom at the top of the parking lot. From this entrance, you can also access the trail along the lake, though strollers and dogs are not allowed on that trail. We chose the lower paved trail instead (part of the mulch trail loop). It's wide -- almost road-sized -- and newly paved the entire way. It took about 15 minutes to reach the lake, and there's plenty more paved trail beyond that. We saw frogs, ducks, turtles, deer, an owl, and even a bald eagle. My kids stayed engaged the whole time. The trail was flat and easy for stroller pushing, and my older kids rode scooters without any issues. There were lots of families, dogs, and walkers out, but it never felt overcrowded. Overall, this is a great near-the-city option for getting young kids into nature without dealing with steep terrain. The other entrance off Granny White has the visitor center and a bit more parking.
