What a perfect park! Miles of black top pathways perfect for biking and walking! There is a small playground by a community building but if you go through the wooded areas on a bridge that goes over a perfect creek it opens up into large soccer fields and another huge playground! Crockett Park - Parks Near Me - Brentwood, Tennessee

There is a lot to like about this large park and it's one of my favorites. I'll break it down by the primary features. Trails: this is the primary reason I go to Crockett Park. I sometimes walk but mostly bike on the trails with a little one. They are relatively flat and because they are so long, they are rarely crowded. The trail users vary in age and there are plenty of blind curves, so it's not a place to go for fast biking. The scenery is varied and the majority of the trails are shaded. As a bonus, there are lots of places you can dip your feet in the Little Harpeth River. You can bike from Smith Park to the south to Tower Park north of Concord Road. The trails also connect to various neighborhoods, the Brentwood Library, and the Brentwood YMCA. Five stars. Playgrounds: there are several playground at Crockett Park/River Park. The main one near Woodland Middle School between baseball fields. It's large with a divided small kids and big kids section. Kids love it, and there are plenty of benches and tables for parents to sit or for a lunch break. Five stars. Frisbee golf course: 18 holes and, unlike many in the area, clear signage. Some holes are similar and a few are pretty short, but overall good course for a quick game. Four stars. Restrooms: these are all over the park. Some are closed part of the year, but for the most part they are open and reasonably clean for public restrooms. Four stars. Parking: You can park more places than I can count off the top of my head to start your walk, jog, bike ride or attend a sporting event. Amphitheatre: The Eddy Arnold Amphitheatre is great for summer concerts, of which there are many every year. Sports fields: I don't use them at this time, but they are very well maintained and there are a lot of football, soccer, and baseball fields. Parking: You can park more places than I can count off the top of my head to start your walk, jog, or bike ride. This is handy for days when the fields are crowded for soccer and/or football games, because you can avoid the traffic. Most lots are adjacent to a trail. Check it out for one or more of these features when you get a chance. read more

Crockett Park - Early fall on the trails - Parks Near Me - Brentwood, Tennessee

This park is perfect for social distancing. It's huge with a lot of long winding trails and open fields. My wife and I were looking for a frisbee golf course and some place that our son could run around like crazy, but not bother anyone. Crockett park was prefect for that. We played about four holes of golf, which is was pretty good with a toddler. The holes are all par 3, so they are pretty easy, but hole four was impossible to find. We had to ask some fellow golfers where it's was and apparently it's hidden in the woods, why? Beyond frisbee golf and open fields, there plenty of walking trails, biking trails, and a few jungle gyms areas for the kids. The parking here was easy with there being a few different parking lots. I can't wait to comeback and play the full frisbee golf course! read more

We were killing time, mid-brewery-ing, and had some time before Mantra opened at 3pm. Our usual MO then is usually to find a park to explore or to take a walk at. A quick Google maps search showed Crockett Park, not far off the highway, on the way to our ultimate destination. Unfortunately it was too hot and too humid and we weren't properly attired to experience the park as it deserved to be. You drive in to the park past a school, so be aware of that depending on the time and day you visit. We got caught up in some after-school traffic on the way out. It is a generously sized park with a lot to offer. Beyond the historic log cabin you see when you drive up, there are multiples of all the sport-specific courts and fields (tennis courts, soccer fields, football fields, baseball...etc.). There is a trail that enters under the roadway/railroad and near that is a map with all the connecting paths not only in the park, but in the general area! How cool! The park is also host to a pretty good looking frisbee golf course! I wish it had been a little cooler and we would have explored more on foot. But what we saw from the car and from relaxing for a bit at a shaded picnic table...I am certain if I lived close by I would be here on a very regular basis! read more

This park is definitely a wonderful little place to bring the kids. They have the most amazing wooden playground and plenty of space to run. They also feature all the sports options that I could've ever asked for my kids to see such as baseball diamonds, soccer fields, frisbee golf, and bike trails. There's also an amazing amphitheater that we are not going to take the kids to yet. We are seriously looking forward to spending a lot of time here. read more

I am a huge fan of parks. This park tops one of the best I have been to. Some of the key things that make is so special is the size, all the nooks and crannys, the diversity of landscapes, and much more. I found myself towards the far back of the park were all the tennis courts are. Many areas to park throughout the park. I went through the tunnel that goes under the train tracks that leads you to a paved path that winds you through some of the most beautiful landscapes. Past large grass areas everywhere, forests, creeks, benches, and wild life. The park is just fabulous! I took my long board for a spin down the path all the way to were it ends at the Bentwood YMCA complex. Everything about this park is great! They even have a nice size pavilion for concerts in the park. They also have a wonderful Frisbee golf course. Check out this place! read more

I spend a lot of time at this park. I have two boys, so I've put in a lot of time on the sidelines at soccer, baseball and football games. This park really is great, mainly because it has so much to offer: soccer, baseball and football fields, tennis courts, a wonderful playground, tons of paths to bike, walk, jog, blade, scooter, hop, whatever your thing is, an amphitheater for concerts, restrooms, and...drumroll...the INDOOR soccer facility, which is where I am now (yep, I'm going for the longest run-on sentence award! hehe). Happy Mother's Day to everyone out there! This includes pet moms, soccer moms , bonus moms, etc. I am starting my review with this because it is not only Mother's Day but it is our last tournament of the season and the last day! Our girls have a chance to win the whole thing! Every year for the last four years we come to this tournament. We have never had a bad experience until now. We have recently adopted a very anxious dog when left alone. We take him to all games and have never had any parks ban dogs. We were here yesterday all day without anyone telling us he was not allowed here. He is very calm and our girls call him their soccer mascot. Today, we got out of our car and was advised he would not be allowed. We explained we are out of state and it was the last day along with it being Mother's Day. So here I sit with my dog in the car while my daughter doesn't get to enjoy having her mother cheer her on for the last game of the tournament. Not only did they come across unfeeling but also acted as if we did it on purpose. I did not get the feeling they gave a thought to how this affected our memories on this very special day. So to all of you wonderful pet parents out there please do not bring your pet to Crockett. They are not a pet friendly facility. read more

This is a great park to visit for a casual walk or jog. There is a paved loop in the park that connects to trails leading out if you desire a longer distance. It is populated enough that you can feel safe walking or jogging alone, but also not too busy that the wildlife is scared away from their natural habitat. I saw two deer while jogging today. There are many dog walkers and there are athletic fields where youth sports teams are practicing. There is ample parking and it is easily accessible. I highly recommended visiting this park if you are in the Brentwood area! read more

Now, this is a pretty way to spend a Saturday. Judging by the crowd, it appears that I'm the last person in the Nashville metro area to discover Crockett Park. But, being fair, unless you live on the south part of town (or, in Brentwood), I don't know that you'd have occasion to spend much time wandering around this green space. After all, how many Brentwood folks spent their time in Shelby Park? In any event, if you live in Nashville and are looking for a new (to you) green space to explore, get yourself down to Crockett and enjoy. Don't be scared off by the initial residential appearance. Crockett Park is a destination park. The locals are just lucky to have it so close to home. Drive past the school, look for the old wooden cabins and giant parking lot. Yep, that's it. You're here. For the average runner, this place is fantastic. It's a large, scenic space with, mostly, flat land on which to run. There are some slight bumps, but nothing compared to some of the downright mountainous running trails found in other parks in the metro. This makes Crockett a solid place to run with your kids, beginners or dog. And, while you run, take in all the pretty. Not only is the space large enough that you won't have to double up on your trails to get a good run in, but there are trees a plenty, open fields, tennis courts, frisbee golf, pavilions/shelters, soccer fields, people watching, and the like to distract you from the fact that your legs are acting like pistons. This is an extremely well-planned green space. It's obvious the concept was well-planned and the execution had a lot of money behind it. What it results in is a well-cared for green space that attracts patrons from throughout the metro and gives them a free, fun place to spend time and energy. Isn't that what our park system is for? I realize the warm days of outside exploration that dot the early spring are behind us. BUT this is a perfect time of year to take it some color changes while getting some fresh air. Do yourself a favor and try both pastimes at Crockett Park. read more

Only one major kink: Bathrooms. I like to drink. A lot. Problem: I have a small bladder it seems. Went to a BEAUTIFUL wedding here in the late summer. It was glorious. Great food, great drinks, great friends. One bathroom. For everyone. I am pretty sure that multiple times while waiting for it, that I began sweating under my fingernails. Oh thank goodness. Finally somewhere flat I can run in middle Tennessee. If you are tired of hill, or just need an easy run on the weekends, this is a great place. Of course there are countless other things to do there too, like play on the soccer and rugby fields, tennis and lacosse. If you take your dog with you, be sure to keep it on a short leash, because the paths are narrow and there are a lot of bikers there. Also, there are signs saying you can be fined if your dog is not kept on a short leash. read more

This is one of my favorite places to take the kids after work /school. The playground is wonderful! It is a large wooded structure that is divided into two sides for 2-5 year old and 5+ year olds. It is a little old, but very well maintained. But it's age adds SHADE, lots of it in the summer time. There are a lot of swings and climbing areas. The bathrooms are close, but unfortuantely not close enough for an emergency when potty training. There are so many entrances to the park, getting to the playground can be tricky the first time, its back between the middle school and the baseball complex. I have heard that there are great walking paths and trails. I even see an outdoor ampitheater, but to be honest my experience has only been with the playground, but I can't wait to get there more and explore the walking trails. read more

Crockett Park is pretty grand, I recently took back up jogging and this tops my list of favorite places to go for 5 reasons: 1. close by my work 2. FLAT running trails (yup, I am a wimp) 3. lots of spread out bathrooms and water fountains. 4. lots of space to jog without repeating landscapes 5. shade Crockett is also near the Concord Road YMCA, so if after running/cycling/skating, you want to stretch with yoga or hit some weights, its easy to do. Its got a cute creek, its near a library, its got a lot of entrances from various neighborhoods to add some biking distance - this park has a lot going for it and because of that it can get really crowded at peak times! Its very family oriented, you will always see a kiddie soccer game while the soccer moms play at the tennis courts, but hey - its Brentwood, so I can't hate on that. Nice park! read more

When I first moved to Nashville my wife and I, along with our turbo-charged Jack Russell, took up residence in a small studio apartment in South Nashville. It was the perfect size for us but certainly not ideal or our energetic pup. It didn't take long for us to stumble across Crockett Park and we immediately fell in love! There are miles of paved, tree-lined walking trails throughout the park and connecting it with other area parks. There are a couple of public restrooms here near the soccer fields and an 18-hole disc golf course. The park is almost always busy on nice days (especially the weekends) so it feels safe and friendly. It's a great place to get some exercise and wear down our dog! read more

This is a great park on the South Side of the city of Nashville in Brentwood, TN. They have several miles of paved path along the little Harpeth river. They have several full sized soccer fields, and a football/rugby field with bleachers. They also have about 8 tennis courts. I first discovered this park because I was looking for a place to get some exercise and rollerblade. The paved paths are great for skating and biking. Everything is well groomed and maintained. Everyone in the neighborhood is very friendly and shares the park openly. A lot of families use the park for biking. The soccer fields stay very very busy during soccer season. The Brentwood Soccer club calls these fields home. This park is a great place to recreate! read more

Nice park. There is a pavilion for picnics, and lots of parking. The sports fields are well maintained. The park is also surrounded by multi-use, paved, trails for walking, running, or cycling. These trails are connected to others that run around Brentwood if you're interested in extending your route a bit. TIP: Saturday's are hectic. There are football games, soccer games, and tennis all going on at once. Even with all the parking spaces, it gets full and people sometimes get a bit crazy, parking all over the grass. If you're planning to walk the dogs or go for a jog, you might want to try another location for Saturdays, at least during soccer season. read more

Crockett Park is one of my favorite parks to go to. The easiest and simplest reason is because of how big it is. On one walk, my wife and I saw 2 deer, and 4 rabbits. The playground is really great, and I love taking my niece there. It's the kind of playground I wish I had as a kid, actually, since it's layered and has levels, and shaped like a castle. This is definitely one of the best outdoor parks in the Nashville area, albeit south of the city in Brentwood. Crockett Park has a trail that runs from the Brentwood Library through the Concord YMCA through Crockett Park and continuing through some neighborhoods or circling Crockett in different degrees of oval. You can walk for one mile (YMCA to Crockett and back) or you can go for 7 miles. The park is winding paths through nature and trees. You are separated from the hubbub of the world when around the park. There are plenty of walkers, bicyclists, rollerbladers, strollers, and pets on leash. (Keep your pets on a leash, the Brentwood Police are always out to ticket folks who are law breakers.) There are also a plethora of soccer fields and public tennis courts. This is just a fantastic little (well, I guess it isn't little) park. read more

I love Crockett Park! There are wonderfully paved paths for bicyclists and runners, a playground for kids, and an area for adults to relax. There are open fields for playing, and shady areas for relaxation on warmer Nashville days. My favorite amenity is the disc golf course that remains challenging and fun no matter how many times you've played through! There are also indoor bathrooms which is a definite plus. read more

It's always a treat to go to Crockett Mill's Restaurant at David Crockett State Park in Lawrenceburg, TN., when I'm back in my hometown! Everyone is so nice and the food is Superb, thanks to Kevin, the killer Chef there! My friend, Bro. Jim Warren and I were in having lunch yesterday and had a wonderful time of fellowship and food. Couldn't have been better took care of than by Emily, our terrific waitress! It's also an added treat to watch the various species of birds feeding right outside the windows as you dine! When I'm not performing at the Grand Ole Opry, or on the road, I love to come back to Lawrenceburg and visit my friends at the Park Restaurant. Try it soon! You'll love it and you'll want to go back! I love this park. Love. Love. Love. LOVE. It's on my way home from Cool Springs to Brentwood so I like to stop here to go running. They have sports fields, tennis courts, and a walking/jogging/biking/roller blade-ing trail. I usually stick to the trail. It's mostly flat and with lots of shade. My particular path hugs an adorable little stream. When I'm here the trail is busy enough that I feel safe without being so packed that I can't run. It's just nice that it's not too busy...wait...actually this park is horrible and smells bad. I would NOT recommend coming here for a post-work run. ;-) read more

There are not enough garbage barrels on the main path - a few more might encourage pet owners to throw away their pets' waste. This park has got to be my favorite!! It's beautiful, has indoor bathrooms, soccer fields, paved pathways and it leads into other parks! It is kind of tucked away, behind a church and a school, but once you get behind those buildings it opens up to an amazing park! If you take a left to go under Wilson Pike you end up in a beautiful tree shaded park that leads to other parks, where you can keep walking for a long time!! If you decide to just stay in Crockett Park, you weave around soccer fields and a frisbee golf course, while taking in beautiful scenery! It's the perfect park for taking a stroll, walking your dog, biking, rollerblading, soccer, frisbee golf and just taking in fresh air! If you are lucky, you can even spot some awesome animals! read more

Rainy days leave muddy paths behind, so the miles and miles paved walking paths and bikeways found at Crockett Park in Brentwood should be highlighted. Parking can be difficult on Saturdays with baseball, football, and soccer going on. Many of the trails are shaded and flat which is a plus. Excellent park!! Highly recommend this place for strolls, skating, jogging, cycling, tennis, scoccer, baseball, grilling out, etc. You can't beat a park that has water fountains and restrooms. If you are lucky, at dusk or dawn, you may see deer near the walking trails or sipping water at the streams.......... DId I mention it had shady walking trails to avoid the 90 degree heat?
