Before that time, I was a patient of a large medical practice in Issaquah for over a decade. I've always tried to eat well and stay fit through exercise. So it has been frustrating that the story I've received every year at my annual checkup from my primary care physician at this large medical practice is the same: some of your biomarkers are higher than ideal and we'll just watch them. No further investigation, no analysis of underlying causes, no next steps at all. After I saw Dr Woodall, I learned for the first time that there were steps that I could take to address the underlying causes of my high biomarkers. The steps that I have taken include both medicines as well as nutritional supplements based on scientific knowledge and lab testing of vitamins and nutrients my body is not absorbing well. And I'm confident that the steps that I have taken will help me stay fit, active, and healthy as I move into an older stage of life. Fantastic Doctor, Absolute Administrative Disaster…read more I am writing this with a heavy heart because Dr. Maplethorpe is genuinely one of the kindest and most attentive physicians I have ever encountered. However, the office operations at Lakeside Family Physicians are so incompetent that I would never recommend this practice. I spent five months trying to get a simple new patient visit claim processed. The office staff repeatedly attempted to file with the wrong insurance provider. Despite my efforts to correct them, they were incredibly unhelpful and provided zero updates. Ultimately, I had to coordinate with my insurance company's care team to resolve the issue myself because the office staff could and seemingly, would not handle it. Furthermore, their communication is abysmal. They canceled an appointment without calling to confirm or even leaving a voicemail--we only found out when we got to the office and were met by a barking dog in the lobby filled and Maggie telling us it had been canceled. I have genuinely nothing nice to say about the office manager, Maggie. Her lack of aptitude forced me to do her job for her by coordinating with my own insurance care team to get this matter pushed through and finalized. It is a disservice to Dr. Maplethorpe to have the administrative team "running" the business side of the practice so abysmally. If you choose to see Dr. Maplethorpe, tread carefully and make sure to comb through your records with a fine tooth comb; the front office simply cannot be trusted to follow through.
