We were asked to get there 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork. I think we should have gotten there more like 20-25 minutes early because fitting for life vests took a little longer than expected. The boat was nice and came with nice life vests, not just the typical orange ones. When we came back in, the dock employees were there ready to help dock the boat. Any day on Holston Lake is a good day. Definitely a do again!

We believe it is because we are in contract negotiations. They are purposing a contract that says they will not continue to move our houses unless we pay a 35% increase. However if we get someone else to move them they will not reduce our rent. Three years ago they raised our rent 30% to continue moving our floating cabins. The contract states we move our own cabins. How are you suppose to move your own cabin if you don't live here or are physically unable. A company that is all about customer service,, I don't think so.

In terms of accessibility, be warned that there is a VERY steep incline down to the dock from the parking area, and even from the unloading area. Staff provided yeoman's assistance to get my wife's wheelchair down to the dock, but we elected to drop her off at a nearby dock and driving one of our cars to pick her up there to avoid having to push her back up that incline, which was difficult enough for 3 out of shape 69 year old men to climb without a wheelchair to push. That said, everything else about the outing was excellent. Thanks to the group for giving us an outstanding day! The boat was just as advertised!

With barely any cell service we were able to get in touch with the Marina spoke to a person who through what was probably garbled communication they understood the situation and had an ambulance and cold water for kids waiting for us as soon as we got there. No test ride, didn't show me a thing on boat, and didn't even help me hook trailer to my truck. They offered no extras to make my boat lake ready other than cheap life jackets. They told me they would register my engine for me with Yamaha for warranty, that NEVER happened. I had to get service at another marina and they discovered that the salesman at Rockingham lied to me as it never was registered. Not being very wise, and being the nice guy I am, I thought I would give them another chance on maybe trading my boat that I purchased from them new; boy what a mistake! The salesman said he just moved here form out of state and he said he knew no prices. I asked him to just look up some prices for me and give me a call back, to no surprise I never got a call. He treated me and my wife like we had no money and he didn't have time for us. I guess our car was not nice enough for him to say these people can afford a boat, even though I had told him I had purchased a new boat just two years ago from Rockingham. Oh yea, might I mention also that I was not driving POS, My car is only two years old and a high end model of a not cheap brand. This was by far my worst shopping experience ever! Not sad for him or Rockingham Marina, I purchased a $94,000.00 boat from a much nicer and caring marina/boat dealership. I hope my experience will help others.
