We went here on a random Wednesday afternoon so we basically had the orchard to ourselves. The first parking lot you see is for their store, you have to keep driving up for the u-pick orchard. There you check in to pay your admission fee, get your wristband, and get your apple picking bag(s). They give you a map where the ripe apples are highlighted for you. My favorite apples were the honeycrisp and snap dragons. They grow vegetables too but honestly we didn't explore the orchard that much (it was huge) so the only other thing I picked besides apples was a tomato, which I felt like was pretty difficult to find a good one. I handed out the apples to other friends and colleagues and they all liked them! There's something different about picking the apple straight off the tree than the apples you would normally just buy at a grocery store. It's a lot crispier when you pick them yourself! The store has apple cider doughnuts! Now being that I am a Californian where we don't have this apple picking culture, I was wondering what all the hype around apple cider doughnuts was about. NOW I GET IT they're so good! Unfortunately since we went on a weekday the doughnuts weren't fresh (they make them fresh on the weekends) so some of them were stale, but most were still good. It's honestly more of a cake than a doughnut, but so good! The doughnuts are self serve towards the back. The store also had a cat on the prowl haha We ended up not even having time to visit the petting zoo, but overall I think my colleagues had a good time here and I would recommend this orchard for anyone trying to have a no frills apple picking experience. I believe there was like a building restroom closer to the store and port o potties closer to the u-pick orchard.

We went at the end of the season but we were still able to get some goodies . We also were able to enjoy the animals and watch them . And I can tell they are well taken care of animals and I really loved that . It was alot of walking lol but it was a very nice place I enjoyed it . I didn't care for the amount $45 but if you have a car group you can split the amount up so it's not terrible . And also no one didn't look into our bags or anything on the way out so I'm sorry some had that experience that's terrible . But we had a good time . I didn't care for the bathrooms but it wasn't a porta potty so I'll take that lol

I'm a big fan of the huge variety of offerings and the lovely market and dining area with plenty of food and drink options. The only drawback is that when it gets busy here, you can expect to wait for a long time on various lines and it does get a crazy at times. The other issue is that the picking area is up on a very steep hill so if you plan on making your way down to the market area I would strongly suggest first putting your apples away in the car park and then driving down to the other lot that's at the lower elevation by the market area. This will save you quite a bit of walking up a hill later on. Otherwise it was generally a good experience.

Parking was pretty straightforward. You might need to walk a little to the main area, where there's a small fee to enter the non-apple-picking area. It's small but cute. There are some things for kids to climb on, some animals to see, and a good amount of places to sit and eat purchased food and beverages or what you brought in. The apple cider donuts are definitely worth getting, and I was decently satisfied with my pulled pork sandwich. Next time, though, I'd probably just bring my own food. There's a small store with items and snacks for sale (and an ATM). There's also a bar for some seasonal drinks. The apple-picking area you pay by the bag size. Cash only. No wagons allowed - I wish this had been posted better, but apparently it's a new policy since apples were getting stolen. How sad! Lots of apple trees and two very large sections to choose from. Near the parking lot is a small patch of pumpkins. We got two decent-sized ones for $15/each. The area was definitely muddy with all the traffic and rain. Wear your galoshes! By 1pm, when we were leaving, there was a huge line of cars to get in. If I come back, I'll definitely come on the earlier side!

Now that we're living in The Catskills, my quest to find that similar market prototype I grew to love in Westchester, continues. I had forgotten hubs and I came here before during one of our bi-annual trips to The Catskills. Recently though, when I searched for produce markets near work in Highland, Wallkill View in New Paltz popped up within a short driving distance. As you drive past all of New Paltz bustling shops and restaurants on Main St, you'll soon approach a sleepy farmland area overlooking Mohonk Preserve in about 5 or so minutes. I've been hard-pressed to find a market that tops my favorite one in Westchester and checks all the boxes. Wallkill View grows and sells a nice mix of produce the area has to offer. And when veggies and fruit aren't grown on-site or in season, they're sourced from elsewhere. Unlike other farm markets that operate only Sat+Sun, Wallkill V. is open everyday. Well...almost. These folks shut down for Christmas and throughout the winter- reopening in March. Prices are about $1 more than what I paid down in White Plains- but hey... I get it. Service is great though.
